I’ve read the Our Daily Bread daily devotionals for years. My mother used to get the little booklets every month from church and we would read them together as a family at night. Now I use the ODB app. Count Your Blessings is a compilation of daily devotionals for a whole year— including an extra one for leap year. The overall theme is gratitude.
Each devotional reading begins with the suggested Bible reading (which you really should read!), a key verse, and then the devotional story. If you’ve ever read any of the ODB daily devotionals, you will recognize this format. Each one of them ends with a call to action about how you can “Practice Gratitude Today.” It really is a nice collection by multiple authors. Each daily reading is only about two pages long, so it’s something you could easily do in just a few minutes in the morning or evening or whenever. I encourage anyone who wants to add a devotional reading to their day to grab a copy!

There is a devotional day in this that talks of what we can offer back to God in gratitude. It speaks of how God has everything so what could we possibly give to such a One. Then it goes on to quote the Scripture that speaks of offering ourselves as living sacrifices to the LORD and speaks of how that is an act of true and proper worship.
This got me thinking of how special it is to Him when we love God with our whole existence. All choices, thoughts, feelings, actions that honor Him are like continuing songs of worship to Him. Sweet smelling and pleasing more than any song we could ever sing to Him. How that would be the greatest form of gratitude to Him.
I love that this devotional does not only point to how we as people could benefit from gratitude like most teachings on gratitude out there tend to do. I love that it points to God as well from Whom all good things come. It inspires me to do better by the LORD. To truly live a life that honors Him.

Great devotional on gratitude that has everything you need to strengthen your faith and draw nearer to God. It has a devotional for every day of the year, so all 366 days of the year. With this devotional, you’ll get scriptures to read supporting the devotional, the key verse, and then a short story followed by an application activity that you can do. This is all centered on gratitude . It’s different from your typical daily devotional and it is actually something that is more appealing and I would want to have on my bookshelf. I love the fact that they use it for writing as well.

First of all, many thanks to Netgalley and publisher for the ARC granted. I truly appreciate good devotionals that brings Us insights We as christians use t forget in ur day by day, and this one is focused on being grateful , one of the big challenges in human life, for We not understand completely some things in life, but faith takes place exaclty on this truth: You believe it even when You don't get the point because You chose to trust in the One who created Us. I recommend this book for everyon who likes this kind of reflexions.
