Trapped in a loveless marriage, and plagued by the nightmare memories of her past, she yearns for an escape, a spark of something real. A chance encounter with Eric Gilman—a darkly handsome and brooding stranger—ignites a passion and the glimmer of possibility. Is he the key to her escape, or will the darkness consume them both?
Meanwhile, Detective Frank Hagen investigates a string of grisly murders, each one more chilling than the last. As he delves deeper, he begins to wonder whether the killer stalking the city is even human.

Blood Tide is a chilling mix of horror, suspense, and forbidden romance set against the neon backdrop of Fort Lauderdale. Dani Kowalski’s desperate search for love and freedom collides with grisly murders that keep the city—and Detective Frank Hagen—on edge. I was pulled in by the blend of human longing and supernatural terror, and the pacing kept me turning pages late into the night. What I enjoyed most was how the book balanced tender, intimate moments with a creeping sense of dread—it made me feel both invested in the characters and genuinely uneasy in the best way.
Blood Tide drags you under with sizzling chemistry, bone-chilling murders, and a tidal wave of terror that had me gasping for breath and flipping pages like my life depended on it!
Ohhh this one is juicy—and bloody. 🩸🍷 Blood Tide had me hooked from page one because it’s got everything I crave: a messy heroine stuck in a dead-end life, a hot stranger with “trouble” stamped all over him, and a detective chasing a killer that may or may not even be human. I tore through this book like it was midnight pizza, half thrilled and half freaked out. If you want a story that’ll give you goosebumps and make you blush, this is the one you need on your nightstand. 🔥👀🦈
BLOOD TIDE fascinated me from the very first pages of the Prologue. A warmhearted adventure, then WHAM! inexpressible terror! What's not to like? Author Brent McGregor not only talentedly delineates a Supernatural Cryptid Terror, but he also understands people and their motivations. His female characters are every bit as well achieved as his male population, and elderly as well written middle- aged and young. He skillfully paints marital conflict too, interweaving character arcs and some surprising character revelations. (For example, certain characters startled, even shocked me, in surprisingly unexpected ways, intensifying the already heightened suspense.) He definitely has achieved my authors-must-read list.
