Description
They stole her family.
They erased her memories.
But what if the fragments refused to stay buried?
Anna swore survival was her only mission. Until she met him.
A draftee for the regime she despises.
Bound by duty. Trapped like her.
His honey-green eyes unravel her defenses.
Every forbidden glance makes her pulse thunder.
Every touch is fire she can’t resist.
But what if surrendering to him means losing herself?
What if desire is the spark that burns everything down?
Escaping the Primary is a dark, sensual YA dystopian debut that blends forbidden romance, fractured memories, and the brutal fight for survival in a regime that demands obedience. Perfect for fans of The Hunger Games, Red Queen, and From Blood and Ash, this is a story where love is dangerous, rebellion is deadly, and desire could ignite a revolution.

Marketing Plan
The author is building early discovery for Escaping the Primary ahead of the Sept 12 release via NetGalley, Goodreads, Reddit, light retailer ads, and product-page optimization. Goals: 300–500 NetGalley requests and 100–200 posted reviews across Amazon/Goodreads within 4–6 weeks. Approvals will prioritize librarians, educators, and YA/dystopian-romance reviewers, accompanied by a brief reading guide. Amazon A+ Content has been submitted and is pending approval; retail pages are live and will be updated with early pull-quotes. On Goodreads, the author will refresh the book page, add Listopia entries, post periodic author updates, and (timing permitting) run a giveaway; reviewers will be encouraged to cross-post. On Reddit, the author will participate in r/YAlit, r/books, and r/romancebooks discussions with transparent ARC availability and follow subreddit rules. Light Amazon Sponsored Products will target comp titles to drive detail-page visits. Near-term, in-store signings with B&N/indies are being explored, with photos and select pull-quotes to be shared afterward. Success will be measured by requests, approval rate, posted reviews, Goodreads adds, and detail-page views.

I'll start with an important leading factor - this genre is not my typical read. Though I found myself intrigued with the blurb and advertisements I had come across and was gratefully given an opportunity to read this novel. It was beautifully written, and far more intense than I had initially suspected. You may be wondering why I use the word intense - but the gore and the rawness of emotion between the siblings and those they knew throughout the story was gut wrenching in parts. Overall, the character development, and ability to narrate a multitude of different and very distinct personas into this storyline was beautifully done.
The romance comes in the least of expected places and is definitely a slow burn with a meticulous and well curated story line. All in all, I thoroughly got to enjoy the way this story unfolded and think most readers would too.
L. Rae wrote this well and was engaged from the first page, it was a strong start to the Escaping The Primary series. it had that element that I was looking for and was engaged with what was happening. The characters had that overall feel that I was wanting and enjoyed the concept and how it uses the dystopian romance element in the storyline. I enjoyed this as a opening chapter and am excited to read more in this universe.
Ummmm. This book is intense - and I mean that in all seriousness! I was caught up in it from the first few pages and stayed tense throughout it. The book is filled with strong emotional interactions and experiences. The characters are well-developed and well written, adding to the depth and beauty of this book. Keep in mind the subject matter and context of the story is a hard, unrelenting world filled with its own kind of horrors and the raw emotions of the three characters is explored. This book will keep you turning the pages hoping for an HEA>
I can't wait to see the series unfold.
I loved the action and suspense in this dystopian YA/New Adult romance. The Primary has seized control of Anna's world - the setting has Hunger Games vibes. Meredith, Michael, and Anna have a great connection, and their emotions are palpable. I can't wait to see how the story evolves in book 2!
