Description

Hidden fangs.

Not so hidden hearts.

Millicent Layne has been hiding in plain sight, a delicate existence that her fangs threaten to expose whenever her emotions spike. When a last-ditch effort to stall her arranged marriage goes awry causing her brother Andrei to go missing, she needs Ellis Dacre's help to find him. Nothing more. But as the autumn days roll on, every cozy inn and toasty tavern chips away at Millie's secret and the walls she built around her heart.

Ellis Dacre is a carpenter with calloused hands, a gentle soul, and dreams bigger than the small town of Balcott. His sights are set on the capital guild-until Millicent Layne enters his life and his best friend Carolyn vanishes. In a desperate search between falling leaves and starry nights at sea, Millie and Ellis uncover a connection between them that stretches beyond this life.

And a conspiracy poised to eradicate Millie's people forever.

The cozy charm of Rebecca Thorne's Tomes & Tea series meets the mystery and stakes of T. Kingfisherโ€™s Swordheart in this fated mates vampire romantasy novel, complete with hidden fangs, high stakes, cozy breaks, and a HEA guarantee.

Let me put my 5 star rating another way: it isnโ€™t even the 10th of the month yet and I can already tell this is going to be my top read for this month. The story has high stakes and cozy vibes, and has left me with the warm and fuzzies in spades!

I really enjoy fantasy that feels a bit like a roadtrip, and Fangs Divide Us is that, and so much more as Millie and Ellis band together on their hunt for her missing brother and his missing friend. Thereโ€™s action, adventure, a couple of sassy furry and feathered (and scaled!) companions, heaps of found family and the uncovering of a nationwide conspiracy. And even better than all that? Everything about Millie & Ellisโ€™ story is so heartfelt. Theyโ€™re drawn together in a way neither can explain, and find love and safe harbour within each other. There is a lot more I could (and want to) say, but anything more will give too much away. Just know that I was kicking my feet throughout! And a random addition: I loved Croweโ€™s reimagining of engagement rings into family stone piercings; so imaginative.

Thank you very much to Katherine Crowe, Victory Exiting NetGalley Co-op and NetGalley for the opportunity to read & honestly review Fangs Divide Us prior to its release.

This was perfect. It's got some dark topics woven in a cute cozy fall read. I couldn't put this down and the romance was so emotional but natural feeling. You really feel like you stepped into this world and are experiencing it right along with Ellis and Millie! Can't wait to see more of this world and the other characters stories!
Thanks so much to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for arc.

I honestly enjoyed this. It took me a bit to get into fully. But once I was there, I was sucked in. I didnโ€™t lose interest past that point. The writing was fun and it had a clear voice, and the story in general felt original!!

this was a strong opening chapter to the Season of Souls series, it had that vampire romance elements that I was hoping for and enjoyed from this type of book. It was a unique concept and worked with the world that was going on. The characters had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from this type of book. Katherine Crowe wrote this well and left me wanting more.

"Fangs Divide Us" by Katherine Crowe is a wonderfully woven tale with a beautiful love that transcends lifetimes and an amazing adventure that makes for an excellent read!

Every description of the towns and areas in between are artfully written! I kept finding myself wishing I could jump into this book to stay in one of the cozy inns and visit a tavern or marketplace! Everything is described perfectly so it's easy to imagine the beauty of it all.

I loved both of the main characters! Millicent and Ellis are well-rounded characters and I really enjoyed reading from both of their points of view. Millie is a centarian (vampire) who lives with the looming threat of being found out and harmed for what she is. It is believed that her people are nothing more than bloodthirsty dangers to society that need eradicated.
Ellis, a simple carpenter, enters Millie's life after an incident that disables her and results in both Ellis' best friend and also Millie's brother disappearing. The two main characters embark on a journey together to locate their loved ones and uncover the trouble that's brewing in Valeria.

The romance in this book is so cute and swoon-worthy plus Ellis is the ultimate sweetie! He treats Millie with strong compassion and immense care for her happiness and well-being. It was so precious how he loved treating her to little desserts just to see her light up with a smile. I loved each little moment along Ellis and Millie's journey that brought them closer and all of the intense longing between them!

Lastly, the character art in this book is so cool and I absolutely love the addition of it!

A huge thank you to Katherine Crowe, NetGalley, and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Ellis and Millie are adorable - he has complete golden retriever energy and I always adore that in a male lead. A fun read with sweet characters, though it was a bit of work to get into at first. After pushing past the first bit of the book, it becomes even more enjoyable. A good read for those who like cozy romance fantasy. Oh, and fall is my favorite season - it adds so much warmth to the book!

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC.

This is absolutely a perfect fall read for me. I enjoyed the unique world and complex topics, while the romance is absolutely perfect. All the characters were really well written and I could easily connect with all of them, you could follow Millie and Ellis nicely and I was just experiencing everything with them so well.

The world was also very descriptive, I could imagine all the scenes quite well in my head and play through it like a movie. Though I was suprised how dark it could turn sometimes, so I did miss the trigger warnings for attempted rape and attempted genocide.

Other than that, I really recommend Fangs Divide Us to anyone wanting to read about vampires (centarians), yearning, forbidden love, fated mates and high stakes.

Oh, and I'm definitely picking up the second book as Roderick took my heart at the end of it all <3
