This is an amazing way to introduce and explain the complexity of God to a young child. The brightly colored illustrations go perfectly well with the descriptions of what encompasses faith. I can see myself buying this as my kid's bedtime book because of the comforting and calming feeling after reading it.

A beautiful book filled with core Old Testament tenets, and colorful illustrations that highlight the beauty of nature and human individuality, this book is perfect for Judeo-Christian followers and their children or students. Each page includes biblical scripture, written in a way that young readers can understand, and maintaining the integrity of the message. At the back of the book, the author keeps a reference of passages of scripture used for the pages of this book.

Kids can't understand complex theological words on the attributes of God but this book does help them in simple words and illustrations who God is.

A great book for teaching little kids about who God is and all the wonderful things he does. Beautiful illustrations and imagery to go along with a wonderful story.

What a cute story about the greatness of God. I think it does a great job describing everything that God is, has done and can do.
Loved the page in the back with scripture references, it gives you the option to dive a bit deeper, if you'd like to.

As a devoted follower of Jesus, it is an absolute honor to raise the children that Yahweh has gifted me. This world is not an easy world to raise children in. Literature these days pushes agendas that are overwhelming to children. So, when I saw the cover of this beautiful picture book and read its title, I had to read it. 🙌🏻

Within the pages of this beautifully illustrated picture book, children will find solid biblical truths. The Great I Am is described in true character, and allows children to know who they are in Him. These are not empty affirmations, but biblical affirmations of who the Great I Am is, and who we are because of Him. 🙌🏻💕

I recommend this book for all ages. Even as an adult, it was a convicting read of how powerful & amazing Yahweh is. It would be a great Bible lesson, especially with the saturation of scripture towards the end.

This book is set to release in February of 2026, and I will be purchasing it for my family when it does. It’s so important to build your library not only with books for yourself, but for your kiddos!

This is a great book to read and discuss the love and mercy of God with kids. The details and the art is very eye catching, especially for drawing kids in the listen to the story of who God is.

As a mother of a small child, I love to see Christian books written with references directly to God’s Word. This children’s book describes God as what He has created and who He is to us. Not only is it a beautiful book, but I could see where you could use this book with the Bible to start many conversations with children. If you cannot tell by now, I loved it.

This book is absolutely lovely. The author paints such a beautiful picture of God’s presence, weaving together words that feel both poetic and reverent. The illustrations are stunning, with the swirling imagery of God’s presence flowing gracefully from page to page. My personal favorite was the stargazing spread—it captured a sense of wonder and peace perfectly.

I also deeply appreciated the thoughtful details: the opening dedication as a prayer felt meaningful and grounding, and the inclusion of scripture references at the end was a wonderful way to connect the book back to the Bible.

Overall, this story is not only visually gorgeous but also theologically aligned, offering a gentle and inspiring reflection of God that feels faithful to scripture.

This was perfect for my fresh 5 year old. We both enjoyed this! I loved how fitting the artwork matched the message. It was easy to read and my son was able to easily follow along and understand. It's simple, but has such a powerful message.

Wonderful children's book that reminds children of how special they are and how wonderful God is. A reminder that He is the Almighty and created our world. Beautiful writing and illustrations. I read this to my children and they loved it.

I thought this book was lovely. The author did a great job describing all the ways God works in the world and making it sound so beautifully poetic. The illustrations were gorgeous! I loved the continuation of the swirling presence of God across the whole book. I loved the stargazing page most.

God, The Great I Am is a book for young children ages 4-8. It’s a beautifully written book that explains in simple writing all the amazing creations God made from sky to water/land. It teaches children how good God is and how He created all of us for a purpose. The book has colorful illustrations showing some of Gods creations. At the end of the book is a list of places in the Bible you can read more about Gods words.

Reading this book is just so soothing. Page by page see Who God is and how everything He created fits into His plan. He is provider, sustainer, father, ever present, always loving, always caring, always good, helper, friend, savior, and more. I love that children of different colors are well represented, while the text is brought to life through lovely illustrations. Bible references are included at the end to read or memorize.
It is not too deep a concept to teach children early Who God is and that He has always been, is in control now, and will always care for them. It’s a peaceful thought - the perfect bedtime story!

Beautiful children’s book with wonderful illustrations, approachable Bible teaching, but also solid Bible teaching. Illustrations are filled with vibrant colors, diverse kids (without being woke- just truly showing God’s diversity in creation with different nations), I love how it starts with focusing on God in creation and seasons then shifts to God’s role in our lives and who he created us to be. I also really appreciate how it mentions how God is our savior- so many kids book shy away from that aspect and just focus on God’s love and role in creation, so I appreciated that this mentions that as well. The final page at the end is a great resource as a parent to see what scriptures inspired this book and help parents take this book one step further. A wonderful discipleship book for little ones and one we will be adding to our library!

It is an excellent thematic primer for children to learn that God is “the Great I Am,” whose heart is big enough to love and talk to all children anytime, anywhere about anything. The letter near the end of this book to the grown-ups is phenomenal, further aiding families with scripture references to build a Christian foundation. This book is a powerful teaching tool. Readers and nonreaders will enjoy this book.

This book beautifully gives a new voice to the creation of the world and the wonder of God. The illustrations are gorgeous full of color and diversity.

"God, the Great I AM" is a Christian nonfiction, exploring who God is for children ages 4 to 8. The book follows two girls (black, asian) and two boys (white). While the title says who is speaking, the text in the book just says "I am..." The text listed things God created and controls and explained only He can create out of nothing. That He has always existed and never changes. He's the giver of all good things and all He does is good. He makes plants grow and season's change. He wants us to talk to Him about anything. He's everywhere at once and keeps watch over you. He designed how various things look and work, including "I shaded people in magnificent varieties of brown, with melanin in every hue." He created us and how we look, and "Before the beginning of time, I knew you."

"I created you for a reason with a special purpose: to reflect my image--bright, creative, and compassionate. To care for my world--the big and small. To bring honor to my holy name." "I will be your helper and your friend, your God and your Savior. Place your hope in me and I will show you I AM who I AM."

The illustrations are stylized rather than more realistic in style. They illustrated what's being talked about in the text. Overall, I'd recommend this book.

Beautifully illustrated story of God and all that He is. This can be read as a family or on their own. Johnson takes us through all the ways God is here and all that He created. I appreciate the text level so younger readers will understand about the I AM.

This book is beautifully illustrated. It is an easy to read book that shows the ways that God loves us. It’s a great reminder of who He is and what he does. My daughter loved it.

This Christian nonfiction picture book has gorgeous illustrations and rhythmic text. It introduces children to the attributes of God, as expressed through His creation and His relationship with us, and it will be uplifting and comforting to believers. Christian parents will enjoy reading this to their children to teach them about God, and this would also be great in a Sunday school context for both little ones and elementary-aged kids. How much a child gets out of this will depend on their age, but it is suitable from birth onward.

The author's writing is theologically accurate and flows directly from Scripture, accurately representing God based on God's own revelation. In a note in the back, the author shared all of the Bible references that she drew from while writing this book. The source notes show where each of these ideas came from, and also help bridge readers from this picture book to the Bible. Everything about this book is excellent. I really enjoyed this, highly recommend it, and expect to give copies as baby gifts in the future.

There is something exciting about knowing the I am of God. It helps us know Him more and for us to trust Him in all things. The illustrations are colorful and a joy to read. A great gift to read over and over again.

This book is so beautiful, I cannot begin to explain how amazing the author did at writing this book. I love the brightly illustrated photographs that show children correlating to how the author is describing how God is the "I Am". I feel as though this will help them to visualize and understand that God is intertwined with the life they live each day. I love the mention of God not having a birthday, to show how he is different from us.

I also love that the author put a "grown up" page at the back, referencing all the scriptures used to write the book as a way to further teach the Biblical truths.
