Description
The Strange Chronicles continue with a cozy-paranormal mystery that's flirty, fun and fast-paced!
Detective Gray Cooper is still finding her footing, but nothing in her training prepared her for this. When the assistant to a local politician turns up dead, Gray can’t shake her suspicions about her newest client – a vampire with secrets and too much charm.
Teaming up with Joe Nebraska—her steadfast partner and undeniable spark—Gray is drawn into a case where nothing is as it seems. Torn between her instincts, her loyalties, and the return of an old flame, she must navigate a growing list of suspects much closer to her than she imagined.
In a town where the supernatural hides in plain sight, Gray’s next move could cost her neck…or her heart.

Anybody Anywhere was a quick light read. It’s a who done it murder mystery story with a paranormal twist! Gray is an investigator and is approached by a vampire named Conrad. He is being framed for a murder and needs someone to prove his innocence. Gray takes the case and is thrust into an underground world of vampires and secrets. As the story evolves, she discovers new things about her family she didn’t know before and her past starts to creep into the present. I loved that Gray is a smart independent woman and that she is also understanding and caring with her loved ones. The side characters were interesting and I would love to have a cup of tea with Gramma Sugar 😂 Overall, I found this to be a quick and enjoyable story to indulge in over an afternoon. I was provided an ARC copy through NetGalley for an honest review
This was a book I impulsively requested because it caught my eye. It definitely is a book that falls into my favorite genre category: urban fantasy/paranormal thriller. I was immediately drawn into the story even though I hadn’t read the first one. Gray is a fun character who runs into her ex who she finds out is mixed up in the murder she’s investigating in an interesting way. This is a fast, quick, and simple read, and while it wasn’t too complicated, it did definitely hold my attention throughout the book. Give it a try. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
I didn’t realize this was the second book in a series, but it pulled me in right away!!! The writing is engaging, the pacing flows smoothly, and the main character’s inner thoughts had me chuckling out loud more than once.
Even though I picked this one up first, I’m absolutely planning to go back and read the first book. The characters feel super genuine and I liked the vampire fantasy aspect to it. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for the next installment!
This was an easy quick read & I recommend it to anyone who likes paranormal/urban fantasy mysteries! It’s was exactly my cup of tea with a strong female MC and a hint of romance. Really appreciated that the side of romance felt adult & didn’t consume every thought our lead had!
I jumped in with this book & it was totally fine I hadn’t read the first one. I did enjoy it enough, I’ll be adding the first one to my TBR & keeping an eye out for the third. It wasn’t the most complex of plots & the ending felt a hair rushed which kept me from rating higher. In the whole I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Loved it., will recommend to others
This was a strong sequel in the Strange Chronicles series, it had that feel that I was looking for and enjoyed how it improved on the previous entry. The characters were everything that I was looking for and was invested in what was going on and was hooked from the first page. I enjoyed the way Jennifer Lauer writes a strong story and thought the character development worked in this story and had that tension and mystery that I wanted.
