Description

From the author of the viral bestseller, Kindling, comes a new spicy autumnal romance set in the Scottish Highlands! Love can be explosive…

🔥 🔥 🔥

Things haven’t been easy for Eiley but she’s finally stepping into the light. With a new flat above the local bookshop, Thorn & Thistle, and a job that lets her indulge her bookworm fantasies, Eiley is on the path to rediscovering who she is – until her village of Belbarrow gets an annoyingly self-important new fireman called Warren, who it seems is always there to throw cold water on her plans.

Warren, with his hot looks and cool lines, is the last thing Eiley wants. Cocky, flirty and superior, she’s not about to be another notch on his belt. But when chaos sweeps through Eiley’s life, forcing her and Warren to team up to save the shop, sparks fly in ways she never expected.

As autumn leaves swirl and the village gears up for their annual fireworks display, Eiley must navigate the smoking chemistry between them while facing the ghosts of her past. She knows that sometimes love hurts – but other times, it burns…

This heartwarming autumnal romance explores the fiery connection between a determined single mum and a self-assured fireman.

When reading an ARC in a series, if at all possible I enjoy going back and reading the prior books before the ARC. Let me tell you, the improvement in writing from book 1 to book 2 is amazing. Book one was an easy read with a quirky main character, but depth of the characters in this book created a better connection throughout the book. An incredible achievement and you can tell Bonnie Woods put the work into being a better writer. Fireworks has a main female with a deadbeat ex and a male main character with unbearable loss. Can I just say a male lead that knows how to put a woman’s first (insert chefs kiss). I can’t wait to see where they are as background characters in book three.

Eiley is not interested in dating. She has three young children she is trying to raise with her family's help since her ex took off. She finally got them out of her mother's house into their own apartment, and a job at the bookstore downstairs, when a fire upends everything. Eiley, despereate to save her job and home, rushes in to try to recover books and her kids' toys, but firefighter Warren wants her out of his way and out of danger. Immediately, it is clear there is a spark between the two, but will it lead to romance or them killing each other?
As a new resident, Warren has a hard time settling in to town and keeps stepping on toes. What is he going to do about this beautiful, fiery woman who is everywhere he turns? As he gets to know her and her family, Warren realizes this woman is dangerous, and she has the power to completely break his heart.
The second book in the "Scottish Spice" series, it is a cozy, autumnal romcom worthy of your time.

This is the stuff rom-coms are made of!
I loved the setting and I loved the chemistry. It literally crackled on page! This was so cute and sweet and at the same time, comical and and sexy. I’ve never read this author before, but I will definitely pick up another book. This was such a fun read!

I really related to the FMC, as a fellow single mom just hoping for my one day happily ever after… I didn’t even notice this was book 2 of a series but it could totally be read as a standalone with mild things you “wouldn’t know” from book 1 but it definitely was fine 😂😂 definitely giving interconnected standalone vibes. Loved the MMC and how he was a rugged but soft character who was also a hot firefighter COME ONNNNNN! 😈🔥 This story was overall very sweet and I really enjoyed it.

Everything I wanted and more. I need a Warren in my life immediately.

Eiley is a single mum, a bookworm working above the most charming bookshop (Thorn & Thistle -- already obsessed), and slowly piecing herself back together. Warren is the annoyingly hot, cocky new fireman in town who seems personally determined to get under her skin. Scottish Highlands. Autumn leaves. A village fireworks display. GRUMPY X SUNSHINE. This book was made for me.

What really elevates this beyond a standard opposites-attract romance is the depth underneath the spice. Eiley isn't just a love interest -- she's a woman actively rebuilding her identity, and watching Warren slowly shift from irritant to protector to something much more felt completely earned.

The small-town charm of Belbarrow and the cozy bookshop setting made every scene feel warm even when the tension was running hot.

And the spice? Absolutely delivered. This is 18+ and it means it, but it never overshadows the heart of the story.

If you loved Kindling, this is a must. And if you haven't read Bonnie Woods yet -- Belbarrow is waiting for you.

I was so excited to read this. I really liked Kindling and I have an extensive track record with dating firemen in my younger days so this helped me relive my youth. The representation is fantastic in this book. Warren & Eiley's characters were frustrating to me but I understand that they both had trauma so there was a lot to unpack with them. The spicy scenes were great. Filled with raw emotions and realistic situations and characters, I really enjoyed this one. I am looking forward to the next 2 in this series.

Well, sparks fly between a single mother and a fireman. In this well, plotted well developed romance novel? Our characters are flawed and their flaws make the story more believable and ult, something that you want to invest your time in. I enjoyed this romance.

🔥🍂 Fireworks 🚒🔥

Small town romance, a bookshop, autumn in the Scottish Highlands, and a grumpy firefighter paired with a single mom?!

Sign. Me. Up! 🍂❤️‍🔥

This ended up being a surprisingly emotional read for both the MMC and FMC. They were each carrying so much baggage from their families, past relationships, fires, and everything life had thrown at them. And while they start off super rocky with each other, their relationship developed beautifully.

Somewhere along the way, they became a source of healing for each other, and I really loved that. 🥹❤️

Fireworks by Bonnie Woods

Fireworks was a cozy, feel good romance that perfectly captured the warmth and charm of autumn. I picked it up because I can never resist a small town romance with opposites who can’t stop arguing, and Eiley and Warren delivered plenty of laughs along with heartfelt moments. Their chemistry grew naturally as they worked together, making their relationship easy to root for.

I loved the Scottish Highlands setting, the charming bookshop, and the cozy fall atmosphere that surrounded the story. The romance balanced humor and emotion beautifully while also exploring healing and fresh starts. I would have enjoyed a little more time with some of the supporting characters, but the heartwarming romance made this a delightful read. I would recommend this book to readers who love autumn romances, small towns, grumpy sunshine dynamics, and plenty of cozy vibes.

After Harper and Fraser's adventures in the first book, I was ready for this one! I loved Eiley and Warner, and the late summer vibes were a great backdrop for the story. The chemistry between these two was great and the integration of Warner into Eiley's life was so perfect and fun!

Book 2 of the Scottish Spice Series that follows Warren and Eiley.

Due to Eiley’s past with her ex she is cautious, defensive, and not easy to trust. She feels she’ll never love again until Warren appears challenging her feelings helping her rediscover who she is.

Warren is the newest fireman that moved into Eiley’s smalltown. He is cocky, flirty, and protective in all the right ways. He has to really prove to Eiley that she wouldn’t be just another notch on his belt causing great banter between them. I really enjoyed their fiery chemistry.

Thank you Netgalley and Bonnie Woods for allowing me to ARC read this book.

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁:

I am a sucker for a book set in the Scottish Highlands, and I really liked the opposites-attract dynamics of this one. Plus, the cover is adorable. I liked that the FMC is a resilient, determined single mom trying to rebuild her life. Because she has been burned before, she is very hesitant, which made the book feel a little like an emotional yoyo at times. However, our MMC is patient, kind, and so swoony. He doesn’t give up on her even though many others would. A cute, solid read that has great fall vibes.

𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬:

Eiley has been through a rough patch, but she is finally stepping into the light. She has moved into a cozy new flat right above the local village bookshop, Thorn & Thistle, where she also works. It is the absolute perfect setup for her to indulge her inner bookworm and find herself again.

Warren is the shiny new addition to the Belbarrow fire station, and he completely knows his own appeal. He is self-assured, flirty, and highly prone to throwing cold water on all of Eiley’s carefully structured plans. He is the absolute last distraction she needs, and she has zero intention of becoming another notch on his belt.

Only problem is when absolute chaos sweeps through the village, forcing Eiley and Warren to team up to save the beloved bookshop. As they work side by side, an undeniable pull of attraction starts building between them, and the smoking chemistry gets harder and harder to resist. With the annual village fireworks display right around the corner, Eiley has to figure out if this fiery connection is worth risking her heart for, or if she’s bound to get burned.
