Description

Torn between two worlds, can their love survive the season?

Chef's Kiss at the Chalet is a deliciously cosy, festive, small-town romance, for fans of Chalet Girl, Laurie Gilmore and Hannah Grace.

When Eleanor Evans lands a spot at London’s most prestigious culinary school, her dreams finally feel within reach. Desperate to scrape together the cash for her tuition, she accepts a last-minute agency position as a chalet girl, which whisks her away to Maplewood Creek, a quaint, snow-kissed town nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

Hired by the affluent Hawthorne family, Elle finds herself in a world of wealth, luxury and big egos, far removed from her humdrum everyday life. As she navigates the challenges of her new job, mastering gourmet dishes and catering to the whims of her discerning employers, she realizes there’s something she hadn't accounted for: Charles Hawthorne, the family’s charming and undeniably sexy eldest son.

Charles soon becomes an unexpected distraction for Elle – she can't deny the sizzling chemistry between them. But, with Elle’s career aspirations hanging in the balance and Charles's carefree lifestyle and family expectations putting a strain on their blossoming relationship, can this unlikely duo survive the season?

This was such a fun cozy romance ! I really liked the chemistry between Eleanor and Charles. Their meet cute was well done. I really enjoyed how Eleanor’s work as a chef was depicted, it’s almost like we got little recipes which is nice. The banter was good and Charles is such a swoony MMC. I liked the progression of the story, it was fast paced but I kind of wish it was a bit longer. The ending was a bit rushed but still satisfying. Perhaps it’s just that I would’ve liked to read more about them ! Hopefully there’s more books in this world! Overall, it’s a nice small town holiday romance that is definitely worth reading !

The title and cover instantly caught my attention! I knew I had to read this book!

I absolutely loved the story from beginning to end. Time just flew by! Every chapter flowed so naturally into the next one, and there wasn’t a single moment where I wanted to stop reading. With all the food descriptions, I was hungry the entire time I was reading.

The relationship between Elle and Charles felt realistic, gentle, and beautiful. I loved seeing how they grew together and how their story unfolded. What made the book even better was that their romance wasn’t the only focus; we got to see Elle’s life as a private chef, which made everything even more interesting. And the ending… I loved it!

Mrs. Hawthorne, who seemed so strict and rigid at first, turned out to have such a kind heart and sensitivity. She’s grounded and strong, but she also knows when to admit her mistakes and focus on others’ happiness, especially her children’s. I think she might be my favorite character in the story!

My favorite scene? The cooking competition! It was so intense! I could almost feel the pressure and stress Elle was under. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough!

If you love cozy reads with snow, chalets, private chefs, gingerbread house contests, and a touch of romance... This book is definitely for you!

This was a cozy small town romance perfect for any Hallmark movie lover! I loved how the author used cooking to really set it apart. Definitely do not read if you are hungry!

I thought Elle and Charles’ romance was very sweet from the very beginning. It remained very surface level but sometimes you just want a sweet low-stakes romance without too much drama.

Well, that was a great little wintery romance, which was something I was in the mood for. I mean, who doesn’t love a cute cozy romance? It would have been a great read in from of the fireplace while the snow slowly falls outside.

Honestly, this was the kind of cute romance I can easily devour (like almost all the food that was described in the book…. I was hungry) this in a quiet afternoon. Elle was a fun character to follow, and it was nice to see her kind of find herself through her work for the Hawthorne family. And the romance was cute, and it was fun to see them learn to get to know each other, after their first meeting.

Honestly, the setting was so cute and really made me wish I could visit a place like Maplewood Creek. If you are in the mood for a cute wintery romance, this is a great pick!

Thank you to netgalley and pan McMillan for the arc.

This was a cute cosy christmas vibe standalone that will leave you hungry!
Elle is a chef that gets accepted to a prestigious cooking school in London and starts working as a private chef for a wealthy family at their chalet in the mountains to make money for school. The night before she starts she is stuck in town where she meets a guy and turns out he is the son of the family she is going to work for.
The description of all the food makes your mouth water and her chef journey is the main plot of the story and the romance is secondary.
There are a couple mildly spicy scenes but overall the romance not much and I almost feel like it could have been maybe a little more because I feel like the romance moved quickly without showing much of it and at the end feels like the romance is left hanging.
Elle also makes some feiends in the new town where she works and we get a feel of a quaint little mountain ski village.
Overall a great winter read if you are looking for a cozy story.

Cozy, cute, and very much chef’s kiss.

Chef’s Kiss at the Chalet is a snowy, feel-good romance that reads like a comforting, home-cooked meal after a long day in the cold 🍽️
Eleanor, an aspiring chef working as a chalet girl, heads to a picture-perfect winter town hoping to fund her culinary dreams and instead finds herself mixing romance into the recipe. Enter Charles: charming, wealthy, and exactly the kind of distraction she doesn’t need (but definitely wants).

This book delivers everything I expect from a cozy romance: small-town vibes, delicious food descriptions that will make you hungry, flirty banter, and just enough spice to keep things interesting. Is it predictable? Sure but in the comforting, “I want this to happen” kind of way. Think snowflakes, slow burns, and chemistry that simmers nicely. Perfect for readers looking for an easy, uplifting winter romance with charm, humour, and a happily-ever-after that feels as satisfying as dessert.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️

This book is a delightful escape into a world where culinary dreams collide with romance in a snowy holiday setting. The FMC Eleanor embarks on a journey that takes her from the hustle of an aspiring chef to becoming a chalet girl in the affluent Hawthorne household to help her achieve her dreams of attending the Academy of Culinary Excellence in London!

CLATC is engaging, with vivid descriptions that transport you to Maplewood Creek, making you feel the chill of the winter air and the warmth of the kitchen. The chemistry between Elle and Charles is palpable and well-developed, creating a romantic tension that keeps you turning the pages. Their relationship is both sweet and complicated, highlighting the challenges of balancing personal aspirations with family expectations.

However, while the book is enjoyable, some aspects feel a bit predictable, especially for seasoned romance readers. The resolution, though satisfying, follows a familiar trajectory that might leave some wanting more originality.

Overall, it’s a cute and cozy read that blends culinary passion with romance. It’s perfect for anyone looking to curl up with a heartwarming story filled with delicious food, snowy landscapes, and a sprinkle of love.
