If you want to live, you must let go of the past... Twenty-eight-year-old psychologist, Alisha Dimarchi, is abducted by an obsessed client and imprisoned in his Pakistani compound for over two years. Forced to change her name and live as his second wife, her life is filled with trauma and heartbreak. Thrust into a world of violence and oppression, Ally must fight not only to keep herself alive but to protect the lives of the people she now considers family. At night, she retreats into her memories of the only man she has ever loved—a man she believes no longer loves her.
Thirty-four-year-old handsome surgeon, David Dimarchi, has spent the last two years mourning the disappearance of his wife. After a painful and isolated existence, he begins the process of healing. It is then he is visited by a stranger, who informs him that Ally is very much alive and needs his help. In a desperate attempt to save her, David enlists the help of a mercenary. Together they find themselves in the center of more than just a rescue mission. Will he be able to reach her in time, and if he does, will she still want him?

Advance Praise
“Beware the reader who is hard to move. This novel will rock your boat.” “This is a gripping story, brilliantly woven from start to finish. I’ll never forget Ally. She’s as real to me as anyone else because her story isn’t some forgettable fictional work. Scary to know this type of stuff really happens. Great job, Kishan Paul!” “The Second Wife brings a voice to the voiceless. This is no watered down piece for those with a weak stomach for drama and suspense. It’s an amazing chunk of writing that pulls you in from the start and keeps you there until the end.”

He had taken everything - her identity, her sanity, her family. The life she once had was gone. The life she learned to accept - gone as well.
A gripping account of Human Trafficking that will stay with you. What makes it so intense is that it can happen to anyone - that it could happen to you. Makes you question...What would I do? Could I survive? What makes you want to survive?
Alisha Dimarchi had everything. A successful career, a husband that adored her, a family that loved her. That is until Sayeed a Pakistani client of hers became fixated of making Alisha his wife. Kidnapping her and terrorizing her until she became nothing of who she use to be.
The narration is uniquely told by David her husband and herself. From her point of view of survival from sheer terror to fighting to survive. David point of view after 2 years later with starting new relationship realizing that he can't move on without knowing what happened to his wife. Did she leave on her own or did something happen to her.
This unique narration tells the story of survival and how to continue on. Leaving what is behind and going forward with who you are. It is a hard story to read but it is a story that needs to be told on the horror of terrorism with its relation to human trafficking.

WOW... I cannot immagine how she managed...
I was appalled with the treatment, but more so by the complete absense of humanity by the abductor.
What I mean is that he doesn't feel that he's doing anything wrong. For him all is normal and he really doens't understand why Alisha is unhappy!!!
It is a thing that make you shiver...
