Description
A lavishly-illustrated guide to real-life wonders large and small! Dive into the biggest, the fastest and the strongest, from nature to technology to the miracles of the human body.
A gorilla is stronger than a human, but who is the strongest of all? Who’s the oldest? Come to think of it, who eats the most? And if we’re really asking important questions: who poops the most? (Among mammals, pandas are the champions.)
From Earth’s largest mountain (it’s not Everest, but Hawaii’s Mauna Kea) to Typhoon Tip (the most massive storm in recorded history), we’ll journey from the microscopic to the vast, from the long-extinct to the futuristic. This is a book of tiny cells and distant galaxies, massive trees and poisonous spiders. Meet the Parker Solar Probe (the fastest space ship), the Argentinosaurus (the largest land animal of all time), as well as deadly volcanos—and a squid with a giant eye. And along the way, comprehend the universe at its most amazing, most astounding and most unbelievable.

This book is a delight for curious young minds. The illustrations are vibrant, and the information is presented in engaging, accessible ways. I especially loved the comparisons that measure size or weight by relating them to familiar objects, which makes the facts memorable and fun. I even learned quite a bit as an adult.
This is a great pick for a naturally curious child or a lower elementary student who loves big facts about the world.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing a copy of this book for review.

I received an ARC of this title from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Fun facts about many different topics, with fun, bright, and colorful illustrations. This j-nonfiction book is meant for older kids.

First, I want to say how stunning the illustrations are. Even though my youngest isn't old enough to truly absorb any of the information, she still enjoyed looking at the colorful pictures, and my son and I found the facts to be fun and quite interesting! We especially loved the real-life examples of objects for comparison. I will absolutely be getting the physical version for our personal library! I would recommend this book for children ages 7 or older, but younger siblings can still enjoy the gorgeous art!
Thank you so much Helvetiq and NetGalley for the digital review copy!
