an easy read, good story about friendship. will read the sequel
A great blend of Historical Romance and Fantasy. The book was well written and a joy to read. I liked the characters and hope to see more growth in the next book. What's next for this kingdom? Is the monster really dead? Is the traitor really reformed/ What about the new queen revenge? Will all the relationships progress? Looking forward to getting to know the series much better.

I was intrigued with this book at page 1. I loved the fairy tale quality of the book with a modern flair thrown into it. I couldn't put the book down and was upset when I had to stop the sleep or eat. I have to sleep sometime I guess.
There are a lot of characters and I had a hard time keeping them straight. This would be my only complaint.

Oh My goodness. I'm catching my breathe still...
I loved this. It's wonderful.
It's dominated by superb world building - detailed, rich and simply gorgeous. I loved how it never felt like the author was explaining anything it just gently unravelled. When they sat to eat I could almost smell and taste the food. As for the clothing I had serious style envy. I love when you lose your senses in a book.
The characters are fab. Bred and Rowan are great and their story is compelling but I loved how many other characters had interesting story lines. I expected it to fizzle at the end but it didn't, absolutely not.
My only challenge was that it was a bit mature really for YA yet a little too tame for me. It was a great story, it did feel like you would have to read the next book to understand the real story.

Bree is the next ruler in the kingdom and she feels that she is too young at age 23 to be a ruler. However, she wil rule the country and will do it with pride and honor. Bree had fallen in love when she was a teenager but because she was next in line for the throne and the boy was not royalty, they were kept apart. Now, they are getting to know eachother again, an dthey must decide if a life together is what they want, or if they are ready to move on.
I liked this book, so much that I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book in return for my honest opinion.
I have enjoyed this book ,although I have found it slow in parts.I really enjoyed the characters of Bree, Rowan and Sid. They were the most interesting characters. I have enjoyed how the books deals with the concept of empowerment. This book contains just the right amount of romance, drama and adventure.

Wow such a wonderful book. I was intrigued from page one, well actually the cover. I was drawn to this book due to its cover. Then the words from page one. I was so disappointed when I reached the last page. I wanted the story to keep going. Great story great characters. J.D Wright knows how to weave a wonderful story.
This book is full of romance magic adventure and danger. What more can one ask in a book. What makes this also a great book is that it is believable. Sometimes romance novels, in my opinion can be a little stretched but not this one. You can relate to the characters.
Cannot wait to read the sequel.

Now here was a book to sink your teeth into. Everything I said that YA novels were lacking, could be found in this book in spades!
This story revolved around a generation of young adults destined to take over the responsibility of running a thriving kingdom, following the death of the king.
I found each and every one of the main characters fascinating and each one played a pivotal role in the story rather than one or two main personalities and a selection of supporting characters. I mentioned in my previous post that I was getting a bit bored with vague and indistinct personalities, but this was an absolute pleasure to read because it felt like meeting new people.
Bree, the new queen of Junacave, is a passionate, idealisitic and stubborn woman who will do anything to keep her kingdom safe, even at the cost of her own safety.
Her is-he-isn’t-he lover, Rowan, is an even more passionate and stubborn character who will do anything to keep her safe. The two of them can always be relied upon to release some sexual frustration by yelling at each other.
Dagan, is the new wizard of the kingdom, he will be closely working with the queen and her council to maintain the safety of the king(queen?)dom but he isn’t the traditional wizard you would expect in this kind of story. He is a great combination of selfish, kind, studious, sexual, sensitive and powerful. The author has made a wonderful job of humanising the character that normally comes across as distant in this kind of story.
Sidone is a warrior from a tribe of strong women, she knows how to handle herself in a fight and I know she has a huge destiny to fulfil later in the series, she might be a powerful woman but she wants to fit in with her new friends. She feels understandably insecure when she arrives into their world, after growing up in the forest with her sister so again, the author has perfectly humanised a character who could so easily be untouchable and unrelatable.
Finnley is my favourite character of all, though he plays one of the smaller roles. He’s underestimated by everyone even though they adore him, he usually ends up with the worst tasks and doesn’t grumble too much about it; trust me, some of those tasks really are awful.
Right then: Sex. Everyone in this book was shagging. Everyone. It’s medievalish times, Netflix hasn’t been invented yet so everyone is just having sex all the time.
Bearing in mind the Shakespearian proportions of the story and the fact that most of the characters are in their early twenties, it seems pretty likely that that’s all they’d be doing!
This book didn’t shy away from some of the uglier sides of sex either, the evil uncle shows tendencies of sexual sadism and an old man who enjoys the company of young boys (it’s the youth bit I’m creeped out by, not the boys bit).
It also dealt with a male character being effectively date raped by a woman, though it didn’t go into the after effects in too great detail, it did include his feeling victim’s guilt. I really appreciated this unflinching approach to sex as a weapon, it had to happen for the story to really make sense and the author didn’t shy away from it.
The fuzzy feels of this book comes from the younger generation all coming together at the beginning of this book and getting to know each other, so you can imagine how they will grow old together and bring peace to the kingdom. I’m definitely glad that I have the second book of this series loaded on my Kindle already, I was definitely not ready to let these characters go yet.

Just got done reading this awesome book, and it was such an awesome book to get a chance to read and review. I loved all the characters you are suppose to root for and hate the bad ones. Usually in a book sometimes you don't like the villains but you kind of see why they became that way. In this book buth Silas and Vallica are just plain bad. Their that way because they just love being that way. I really love one of the characters the most so far and that is Finn, his so funny, sexy, and just plain out made of awesomesauce. My second favorite would have to be Dagan, and than Sid. Of course I loved Bree and Rowan as well.
I was given this book to read for just giving my honest opinion on the book.

Delicious, romantic, fantasy crack. I enjoyed every moment, despite it being ridiculously straight and a little cliche. Their was constant action, not everything was solved, and I loved that people spoke honestly, even if some were royalty. Characters were brilliantly created. Despite the romantic pairs already being set, so much in the author's world can happen. There are countless directions and plots for the characters. I would also like to give props to the author for including assault in a romance book that wasn't romantic. Rape was very specifically rape. That's rare. Can't wait to dive into the next in the series!

I absolutely loved the cover for this book. I felt that it was definitely strong for the romance genre and I like how it also mixed in some of the fantasy genre as well. I would recommend it to readers of romance and not fantasy. I did think that it might have been helpful to have different chapters for the different perspectives from characters. It threw me off a little bit when it would change perspectives in the middle of the chapter. I am curious what will happen next.

The beginning of the book was good, it got a little boring, then the end picked up again. I think there could have been a better story line. The chemistry between Bree and Rowan was believable but her bitchiness was a little over kill. I must admit that I actually liked Sidonie and Dagan better. This series is not for younger readers as there is some mild, but still descriptive, sex scenarios. Over all this is a light and fast read that is entertaining.
I so was not ready for this book! I’m hooked. Sleep? What’s that? Work? Now? OK, so the book begins when Bree is a young girl and begins to realize the friendship she has had with Rowan has turned into something more. She is the daughter of Frederick II, the king of Junacave. He is the son of the First Knight, not nobility, this love she feels can never be. We fast-forward to seven years later, Bree is 23. Her father, before death, turns Junacave over to her in a coronation that brings more than just the kingdom. It brings Rowan back to her, the issues the kingdom has- such as looking for a new mage to replace the ailing Elric; and stop her uncle, Silas, from taking over her kingdom. She must convince a very reluctant Dagon, Elric’s grandson, to stay and defend Junacave.
Everealm is part danger and adventure, part love story. Bree’s uncle Silas and his wife, Vacilla, are truly horrible rulers and will stop at nothing to have their ways, fortunately they are fighting with each other, if they were working together they may have been unstoppable. This animosity for each other is juxtaposed with the love Bree’s parents shared, the blossoming love others around Bree are experiencing. There are a lot of mature themes in the book. Definitely not a book for children, but a wonderful escape for adult readers! I can’t wait to continue the series with the next three books!
I was given the opportunity to read Everealm by JD Wright, by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!
