Description

Two strangers are swept into a sizzling, spellbinding world of daring deception and unexpected passion. . .

Marcus Reese, Duke of Essex, has spent most of his life pulling his twin brother out of trouble. A thank you would suffice; instead, his resentful sibling forges his name to a marriage license and presents him with an unwanted wife. She's a vicar's widow with a mind of her own, and the first person in Marcus's well-ordered life to make him feel. . .completely out of control.

Dire straits have led Hannah to the altar with a gentleman she hardly knows. Played for a fool, she's embarrassed, furious, and worse, married to an equally outraged, exasperating man who unleashes all manner of emotions in her--not to mention unwanted desire. Reluctantly, Hannah agrees to play the wife until he can sort out the mess. But the undeniably attractive Duke unsettles her well-guarded heart--making her want to do so much more than "act" the role of blissful bride. . .

I thoroughly enjoyed this title. Linden has created well defined, motivated and flawed characters who made me care about the outcome. The friendship and romance was earned as they learned more about each other and themselves. Will be reading more of this writer's work!

What a Gentleman Wants is one of the most entertaining books I have read in a while! Marcus and David are twins with Marcus being the older by 10 minutes making him the Duke. David, after an accident in which Hannah takes care of him, marries her. Hannah has never met Marcus nor has David mentioned his brother in the 3 weeks she is caring for him. David feels sorry for her as she is the vicar's widow in the town in which he has the accident. David signs his brother's name to the marriage book, drops her and her daughter off at Marcus's mistress's house. Thank goodness it is not being used at the time. Marcus is angry, Hannah is hurt and angry, David is missing. Marcus and Hannah are plunged into a marriage and caught up in the whorl-wind David produced for them.

Add in a bit of mystery to investigate. All in all, this is a great story. The secondary characters add to the entertainment of the story -- Marcus's step-mother, the Dowager Duchess, his sister, Celia, the missing David, and the charming Molly, who looks just like Celia enough to be a Reece -- each adding to the confusion.

What a Gentleman Wants is so worth your time to read. I understand this is a re-release, and it is a good one. I look forward to reading the rest of the series to find out what happens to the rest of the family. Thank Net Galley for sharing this book.
