My first Peter Kirkland book but definitely not my last. What a read. Great and likeable characters and a convincing plot that never let you totally relax into believing that you knew who the guilty part was. I loved it from start to finish.

This is the second Maggie Gallagher legal thriller and the series is gathering pace nicely. There’s a lovely juxtaposition between the demands of her career as she builds up her practice and trying to be the best mother, wife and daughter that she can.

The case she has to deal with seems hopeless at first and her son’s involvement complicates things further.

The court room scenes are well handled and draw you in as does the description of small town life and the politics involved.

Highly recommended.

Ok readers, buckle up—because you will read this book in one sitting… Just when you think you’ve figured it all out? BAM the rug gets pulled out from under you! This one will really keep you on your toes, so find somewhere to hide away and lose yourself for a few hours!

From page one the twists just kept falling in my lap. It was hard to put down because you will want to know what the next chapter brings! May result in a rise in your blood pressure as it’s absolutely addictive and unputdownable!

A definite 5 star read add this one to your TBR immediately!
