Poppy Stringer was born to be a star.
An aspiring fashion influencer by day, Poppy moonlights as a grave robber to make ends meet, wheeling and dealing dead bodies across Palm Springs.

It could be the last job she’ll ever need—if everything goes to plan. But the night’s delivery quickly veers off course when Eddie wakes up.

Fabulous Bodies is my first read by Chuck Tingle and it certainly won’t be my last. Fabulous Bodies is a fast-paced rip-roaring horror novel that mostly takes place over the course of one hellish night, as the MC (a fashion influencer and grave robber) is hired to steal the dead body of her idol, a queer music icon (think like an American Elton John). To say it goes sideways from there is an understatement.
Part gore-soaked zombie tale, part over-the-top chase story, Fabulous Bodies is a brutal, dark look at what makes us human, why we shouldn’t always meet our idols, and shows us why love is real, even when all the cards are stacked against us.
Check out Fabulous Bodies when it comes out on July 7th!

Chuck Tingle has such a great way of bringing absolutely absurd scenarios to life. I did not love his last novel (Lucky Day) so I was a bit apprehensive going in to this one, but I really enjoyed it. The premise was really fun and inventive, the main character starts out not the most likeable protagonist but has a satisfying character arc.
4.5 rounded up to 5 - just because I almost never give 5, and this was a really fun ride.
I am always excited to see a new release coming out from Chuck Tingle. I was extremely excited to get a chance to take an early look at Fabulous Bodies.
Poppy is beautiful, she's not shy about this fact. She also isn't being conceited it just happens to be a truth that she has simply come to accept. Poppy has embraced her winning genetic lottery ticket and has become a lifestyle influencer. Her schedule is filled with GRWM videos, beauty product reviews, and the odd theft of a cadaver. . . Every influencer with their curated clips is hiding a boring day job, Poppy's just happens to take place at night.
After a very lucrative offer to transport the body of a recently deceased rockstar and personal hero Poppy finds herself on a late night road trip that will transform her understanding of her carefully curated world and what she's willing to sacrifice for the ones she loves.
Yet again a fascinating story from one of the best modern horror authors. As the title implies there is a significant amount of Body Horror in this one. It's amazingly creepy and you won't want to look away.
