If you like your love story to include witches and wolves as main characters. And this novel is for you. I will be honest. This is not my normal genre. Kelk does a great job with romance books but I am not really a fantasy reader. However, I can see if this is your genre you will love it.
Wow, I LOVED The Witch and the Wolf so much more than The Bell Witches, and that's saying something since I really liked The Bell Witches! I think this cemented me as a forever fan of Lindsey Kelk!
Thank you NetGalley and Harper 360 for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

The Bell witches are back, and the magic is stronger , and more dangerous, than ever.
Lindsey Kelk continues to weave an addictive blend of witches, wolves, and rising threats that makes this series impossible to put down. This time, Emily is stepping deeper into her power, learning new skills and uncovering strengths she didn’t know she had. Watching her growth feels natural and empowering, but just as she finds her footing, a lone wolf emerges as a chilling new threat that keeps the tension razor sharp.
The mix of witchcraft and wolf lore creates the perfect storm of mystery, danger, and heart-pounding moments. There’s a constant undercurrent of unease that builds with every chapter, making it a true “just one more page” kind of read , the type that keeps you up far too late because stopping simply isn’t an option.
Kelk’s storytelling is immersive and atmospheric, balancing magic, suspense, and character development beautifully. The stakes feel real, the danger feels close, and the world keeps expanding in ways that make you crave more.
If you love wolves, witches, and stories packed with tension and magic, this series absolutely delivers. Lindsey Kelk is truly making magic happen here , and I can’t wait to see where she takes us next.
Lindsey Kelk continues to build an engaging and addictive series that blends witchcraft, wolf lore, and escalating threats with confidence and clarity. In this installment, Emily’s character development stands out as she steps further into her power, learns new skills, and uncovers strengths she had not previously recognized. Her growth feels organic and well-paced, adding depth to both the character and the overarching narrative.
The introduction of a lone wolf as a new threat effectively sharpens the tension and raises the stakes. The combination of witches and wolves creates a richly atmospheric setting filled with mystery and danger, supported by a sustained sense of unease that carries through each chapter and drives momentum.
Kelk’s storytelling remains immersive and controlled, balancing magic, suspense, and character development in a way that feels cohesive and engaging. The stakes feel tangible, the danger immediate, and the worldbuilding continues to expand in ways that maintain reader investment.
This series will strongly appeal to readers who enjoy magic-forward fantasy with high tension and mythological elements. Lindsey Kelk is clearly crafting a compelling and expanding world, and this installment leaves readers eager for what comes next.
As always Lindsey kelk killed it. With this second book in the series. So so good. Will recommend to everyone e.

Going back to Savannah felt like slipping into somewhere familiar and a little bit dangerous at the same time. In The Witch and the Wolf, Lindsey takes everything that worked in The Bell Witches and turns up the tension.
Emily is really coming into her own here. I loved watching her lean into her magic while carrying the weight of this looming prophecy. She feels braver and more self assured, but still young enough that the stakes hit hard. Wynn’s absence adds a real ache to the story, and I actually thought the strain on their relationship made it more believable. It is messy and complicated, which makes it hurt in the best way.
The lone wolf threat genuinely kept me on edge. There is this constant sense that something is circling just out of sight. Once I found my footing with all the moving parts, I was completely hooked. Some twists I guessed, others caught me off guard, and the final chapters ramp things up so quickly I barely had time to breathe.
Savannah itself still has that gothic, slightly whimsical charm, but this instalment feels darker and more mature. The writing flows easily, the dialogue feels natural, and the humour still sneaks in at just the right moments. Lydia continues to be a standout for me, stealing scenes without trying too hard.
It is not quite a five star for me as I did feel a little lost at the start and there were a couple of details I am hoping get cleared up in the next book. Still, I flew through it in one sitting and that cliffhanger absolutely did its job. I am fully invested and very ready to see where Emily’s story goes next.

I was excited to read this. I loved the first book and this one was just as great. Any book with witches, werewolves and ghosts, is a must read. I hope there is another book coming out! The ending 😳
YA romantasy's answer to Romeo and Juliet are back (except this Juliet has the brains to save Romeo) in the second installment of Savannah Red. Kelk is interested in using the idea of a matriarchy of inherited witches to examine some of the rot beneath the polish of Southern culture in the story of Emily and her werewolf beau, Wyn. I will warn the reader that Wyn himself dips in and out of the story, but he remains an omnipresence in the story and Emily's heart even when he's away with his pack.
I do appreciate that Wyn's absence allows Emily to spend time with her best friend Lydia (whose experienced as a mixed race woman whose family has lost magic is a way that the book subtly grapples with race - I wish we had spent a bit more time on that), although I felt like a love triangle with Lydia's brother Jackson felt a bit of out place in a book where we buy so much into the fated love aspect between Wyn and Emily. I will say the book continues to grow the world - we meet Wyn's wolf pack - in an interesting way, and I was glad to see this series was far from finished. I would suggest anyone interested read the Bell Witches first, since a reader would be lost without it. This is for fans of the love story in The Dagger & the Flame and dynamics of the witches in the Crimson Moth. Thanks to Harper 360 for the early copy.

I ARCd book 1 and knew I needed book 2 ASAP and my wishes were granted.
Book 2 went above and beyond my expectations, deeper lore, rich world building, more relatable characters and writing that pulls you right in until the very last page

Welcome back to the Savannah Red series with this sequel to The Bell Witches that is just as powerful as the first.
Picking up rather quickly from the ending of the first book, we dive headfirst into the story. Emily is now grappling with her powers, Wyn is off with his pack, and now, there are other beings hoping to end her life. With Kelk's amazing writing, you're right back in the thick of things, navigating high stakes situations and emotional relationships set in a lush atmosphere that has you feeling like you're right there with the characters. The story is immersive, and you will find yourself blasting through this book trying to figure things out and get to the next part of the story, which promises to be just as exciting as the first.
Emily is such a fantastic character. I love how human Kelk writes her, despite the fact that she has this immense power behind her. She doesn't succumb to ego and she works to keep herself and her relationships whole and grounded. It can be very isolating, being the person with that much power behind you, and I love that Kelk ensures that Emily is never truly alone in that power. I love the found family that she surrounds herself with.
This is an amazing sequel to an already amazing book. I can't wait to see where Kelk takes this story next.

I was really excited going into The Witch and the Wolf by Lindsey Kelk. I really enjoyed the first book, its world, and I love this author’s writing.
I did have a bit of a harder transition into this one since it had been a while since I read The Bell Witches. If I had it to do again, I would probably do a quick reread of book one to refresh and reimmerse myself in the world and characters. It took me a little time to find my bearings again and remember who everyone was and what had been going on. Once I got settled back in though, I was able to fall into the groove of the story and get swept up in it.
I really enjoyed the witchy magical vibes and the contemporary setting. The story also has some great found family elements along with interesting heritage and lore surrounding the witch and werewolf bloodlines.
I’d recommend this to YA fantasy readers, especially those who enjoy witchy stories, paranormal elements, and anyone who liked the first book in the series.
The Witch and the Wolf is a compelling and atmospheric sequel that builds nicely on the gothic charm of The Bell Witches. Emily Bell’s story has higher stakes, weaving together werewolf lore, family tension, and a looming prophecy in a way that keeps the pages turning. Savannah feels richly alive, and the emotional pull, especially around Emily’s separation from Wyn, adds real weight to the action. While the pacing occasionally dips and some twists feel a bit predictable, the strong character dynamics and sense of found family more than make up for it. Overall, it’s an engaging, moody continuation that will satisfy fans of supernatural drama and character-driven fantasy.

After the first book finished on such a good note, going into book two, I thought it was going to be all romance and magical adventure with a few hiccups along the way. Well, it was that, but in the most brutal of ways. Dang, I was not prepared for all the things that went wrong.
I love these characters and only want the best for them. They all had something they had to overcome. Emily's learning how to be a witch on her own. Lydia is searching for a place to belong. Wyn is trying to find a balance between pack and love. And Jackson being human in a world of magic. They stuck together even when things got messy with a sort of love triangle (but not really much to my chagrin) and family drama. What wasn't on my bingo card was Catherine's redemption arc or my dislike of Alex Powell, the twins' mom. At least my opinion of Virginia and Ashley went up. Ashley is an underrated character. She's become someone solid that Emily can lean on, her verbal altercations with Lydia are epic, and the way she roasts the guys was the best. I was pleasantly surprised by her development.
Once again, Lindsey was on point with her vivid descriptions. Savannah came alive once again, and the magic was once again incredible. This plot felt darker than the previous book, and that one had a homicidal grandmother. The weres are not my favorite in this. These shifters are brutal and cruel beyond imagination. I didn't agree with a lot of things they did. It makes me wonder how someone like Wyn could ever fit in. They were prejudiced and bloodthirsty in a way I did not expect. There were so many twists and turns. I did not expect the story to go the way that it did. There were some unexpected emotions, one being shock at the biggest plot twist, which occurred at the end. I did not see it coming. Like, what!? I really need Lindsey to make things okay again in the next book, which I'm hoping is coming sooner rather than later.
Oh my goodness I loved this book just as much as I did the first one. The writing is so captivating and descriptive, the setting is amazing and I'm in love with Emily's character and how badass she is. Her and Wyn together is adorable and I loved how action-packed and suspenseful this was. This is one series I can honestly say I never want to end.

I was excited to get my hands on this sequel to The Bell Witches as I enjoyed the first one. I love the setting of Savannah and the idea of the house being an active part of Emily's life. This novel still read as a Young Adult book to me, and I feel like it should be marketed towards a younger population. The first love, dating drama, and teenage friendship issues made The Witch and the Wolf seemed aimed at a different market. Overall the sequel was enjoy with some surprise twists (esp. at the end!).

🙏🏾Thanks to NetGalley, Harper 360 | Magpie, and Lindsey Kelk for this ARC! I voluntarily give my honest review, and all opinions are my own.
This was a really enjoyable read that kept me engaged from start to finish. The writing was smooth and immersive, and the characters felt well-developed and easy to connect with. I especially appreciated how the story balanced emotional depth with a compelling plot—it had just enough twists to keep things interesting without feeling overwhelming.
While there were a few moments where the pacing slowed slightly, it didn’t take away much from the overall experience. The ending was satisfying and tied everything together nicely. Not quite perfect, but definitely a strong, memorable book that I’d recommend.

So I’m not typically a fantasy reader or a fan of the genre. But I find Lindsey Kelk’s writing to be oh, so entertaining, so I “tried” and loved The Bell Witches and thus of course had to read The Witch and the Wolf, its sequel. And Kelk has not disappointed. This is a rollicking, fun and fascinating read I highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Harper 360 / Magpie for the privilege of a complimentary ARC. Opinions are my own.
UM, THE ENDING?!? I truly hope we are getting a book 3 because my jaw dropped when this one ended. I devoured this right after finishing book 1.
This sequel delivers everything: Southern gothic vibes, fierce friendships, aching romance, and high-stakes magic that keeps the tension razor-sharp. Emily’s growth is powerful and grounded, Lydia steals every scene, and the Wyn-shaped absence? Pure emotional torture in the best way.
With a lurking enemy, rising prophecy, and a cliffhanger that demands book three, this is a binge-worthy, heart-racing ride.
