Description
Andreas survives by staying invisible.
As a remote programmer for a pharmaceutical giant in Buffalo, New York, he clings to rigid routines and isolation throughout the pandemic. But when COVID kills his boss and brings in a replacement, Andreas is forced back into the office.
His coworkers convince him that he's the problems, but therapy doesn't help. Instead, it drags something dangerous to the surface, unraveling him further. That is, until a mandatory workplace hike leaves the new boss missing. And only Andreas knows where he is.
With a suspicious coworker blackmailing him and a shirt button tying him to the scene, Andreas discovers he never needed therapy. He's already exceptionally good at eliminating problems.
Problems. And people.
Darkly funny, unsettling, and razor-sharp, Therapissed is a psychological thriller about corruption, compliance, and what happens when a mind designed to fix systems realizes it might be the most dangerous system of all.

This is a very weird thriller book. What really stood out to me is the incredible character study. I haven't read a book with character development this good in a long time.
Thank you to NetGalley and Canon Productions for the opportunity to read this book early in return for my honest review.

I’ve seen this book described as weird? far be it from me to disagree with that synopsis 😳 it may be weird buts also quite good and certainly worth reading
The title of this book caught my attention and it was just the start of a reading experience which gripped me tight and wouldn’t let go, even after the last page was finished. It’s a dark book which touches on some pretty confronting aspects of human behaviour. The author doesn’t shy away from anything and takes the protagonist on a wild journey which leaves you wondering what really drives him. I liked the writing style and the odd touch of humour in the way the words were used.

6/5 if I could.
I’m still trying to process how tightly constructed and relentlessly gripping this was. From the very first chapter, the pace locks in and never loosens its grip, yet it never sacrifices depth for momentum. Andreas Torrey isn’t just an unreliable protagonist, he’s a meticulously layered study in isolation, trauma, intelligence and moral distortion. Watching his evolution unfold is like watching a pressure valve twist one notch at a time. You understand him, you fear him, and somehow you root for him all at once. The corporate backdrop feels disturbingly real, and the way the narrative weaves social anxiety, pandemic era upheaval and corporate opportunism into something explosive feels startlingly original. In a thriller market that often recycles the same tropes, this feels fresh, sharp, and engineered with precision.
this truly elevates in how intricate the details are without ever slowing the pace. The office politics, the HR dynamics, the managerial power shifts, even the physical descriptions of the building and machinery all feel purposeful and alive. Scenes are vivid to the point of immersion. You can feel the fluorescent lights buzzing, the elevator tightening around Andreas, even the psychological weight pressing down on him. There are echoes of classic psychological thrillers in the tradition of character-driven tension, but the voice is entirely its own. The meta commentary & dark humor is unsettling in the best way becuase it forces you to confront discomfort while you’re still turning pages at full speed. By the end, I realized I hadn’t just read a thriller, I’d experienced a character’s slow transformation in frighteningly intimate detail. This is bold, intelligent storytelling that deserves far more than five stars.
this was a strong psychological thriller novel, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from this type of book. The characters were everything that I wanted in this and had that secrets that I was expecting. It was a strong psychological element that I wanted and was engaged with the fame atmosphere that I was hoping for. Dasher Canon wrote this well and was glad I got to read this.

I received this ARC from NetGalley.
This book was wild!! There seemed to be a little bit of everything for the readers. Andreas does NOT like people, and many of us can agree with this even if you may not admit it. He's enjoying life working remotely, when his immediate boss dies and now he is required to go in to an office where things start to go badly. Did I mention he had a twin that passed, but he sees him all the time and said brother isn't very nice and has a bad influence over him. He goes to see a shrink and things go downhill from there. I really enjoyed going crazy with him and I'm sure you will too!

This book is diabolical in an amazing way. Obviously all psychological thrillers are dark but this one was even more disturbing than most. Without revealing spoilers, I will just say that there were numerous parts of this book which left me feeling uncomfortable. That's how psychological thrillers should be! If a book doesnt grab my attention right away, I have a hard time focusing through out the rest of the book. I love the fact that this story had me in its grip the whole way through. Great work.

An original concept that explores the human mind. Dasher brings us Andreas, he likes to be unnoticed, but that all changes with his boss passing and the new boss makes him come into the office. Also he is talked to by his dead brother. All this combines to be the perfect character study for a man that is slowly going to lose it. It's dark, humorous, and wildly unsettling. Can't wait for more from Dasher in the future.

WOW, this was a thrilling , traumatizing and seriously unhinged psychological thriller. The beginning had me a bit confused but the ending I never saw coming. I recommend this book 10000%.
A wild ride from beginning to end.
“Therapissed” by Dasher Canon is a dark, twisted ride that somehow manages to be horrific and funny at the same time. The story leans into its weirdness in the best way, creating an unsettling atmosphere that keeps you hooked while throwing in moments of unexpected humor. The character development really stands out, each one flawed and compelling enough to keep you invested in where things go next. Strange, disturbing, and surprisingly entertaining.

Add this to your TBR - very refreshing and sometimes hilarious look at the therapy! Very unpredictable and interesting in their own way this book is. Seriously unhinged and thrilling.

This completely exceeded my expectations. I went in thinking it might be a more introspective, character-focused story, but it quickly became something much darker, sharper, and far more gripping than I anticipated.
What really stood out is how the book builds. It starts off slightly off-kilter, with moments of dry humour, before that tone gradually gives way to something much darker and more unsettling —but then steadily escalates into something genuinely intense. By the second half, it becomes edge-of-your-seat reading, with twists and turns that feel earned rather than thrown in for shock value.
Andreas’ voice carries the whole experience. There’s a constant sense that something isn’t quite right and that underlying unease keeps pulling you forward. As things unravel, the tension sharpens, and the story becomes increasingly difficult to put down.
It also handles its darker elements well. The intensity increases, but it never feels excessive or gratuitous—everything serves the story and the psychological tension.
For me, this is what strong writing looks like: controlled, immersive, and completely engaging from start to finish. It’s gripping, unsettling in the best way, and ultimately very satisfying.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and would absolutely recommend it if you’re looking for something tense, twisty, and a little bit dark.
