Unraveled by Jennifer Dawson is a novella in the Undone series. Dawson brings us substance, as this is a lengthier novella at one hundred and thirty-nine pages. While I loved seeing the previous couples, it was Ruby and Chad that left me craving more.

Unraveled takes place on Valentine’s Day. Brandon, oh sweet, snarky and sneaky Brandon has opened a new club in downtown Chicago and is opening its doors for a very exclusive grand opening celebration.

The evening is shared through three perspectives, those of Layla, Jillian and Ruby. Layla and Jillian each plan to give their men a little something special this Valentines and poor Ruby is not sure why she is even tagging along. Curiosity? Jealousy? On the other hand, it might be because everyone is dying to attend this private party or maybe because she is curious. Ruby is worried about being the fifth wheel but is surprised when Chad Fellows shows up. Chad is not anything like Michael and Leo.

Dawson brings out the heat in the afterhours club, but she also gives us tender moments and character growth. I loved seeing Layla and Michael reaching a pivotal point in their relationship and Leo and Jillian are true lovebirds giving us plenty of heat, awes and oohs. Dawson raises the heat level on this special occasion and continues to make it more about the couple and their growth than the heated sex. She makes it genuine, hot and personal.

My favorite part of the evening however was the conversation between Chad and Ruby. I kind of pictured Chad as this sweet, Oxford wearing good guy (totally vanilla) and Dawson made him sexy, charming and very appealing. I have always liked Ruby she marches to her own drum, and it was great getting to know her. I still cannot wait for Brandon's story. The man is sexy, funny, sensitive and I am ready to surrender.

The last chapter of Unraveled is told from another perspective (spoilers darling) and it left me counting down the days until Debauched, book three in the Undone series.

wowowowowow where do I start?

I'll start with I SHOULDN'T BE READING BECAUSE I HAVE SO MANY THINGS TO DO BUT I CAN'T HELP IT !!! I requested this book immediately after Jen Dawson informed me it's on Netgalley and I kept refreshing my email for the notification because...well, excited.

ok now on to the important stuff.

It's obvious from my rating that I enjoyed this a lot. I love coming back to the couples from the previous books (I mentally cheered when Michael appeared on the page--I love that man), also I love getting inside Layla's best friend Ruby's head too. also Chad from Craved (!!!!)--I'm pretty excited for Debauched because WE NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS MAN. ok? ok.

Layla and Michael are my favourite couple. I find myself rereading my favourite parts of Craved (or basically the whole book) from time to time because I miss them. In Unraveled, I feel like we get to see a different side of Michael. He's so good in Craved, almost too perfect, if you know what I mean? Apparently even Layla felt that way too, so that's addressed in this book and I'm thankful for that. We get to see Michael vulnerable and admitting his insecurities, and it makes him more human to me somehow.

Jillian and Leo -- they're so much fun to read! This book showed them further exploring their kinks and limits in their sexual relationship. They're so good for each other and made an awesome team. I enjoyed every single one of their scenes.

Ruby and Chad--I thought we were getting their first meeting or something in this book, but apparently they're already friends before (they've been out with the couples a few times), and that totally works for me. I love their easy camaraderie and the simmering tension underneath, especially after this night. also, I spent the whole book wanting to give Ruby a hug, poor thing.

Overall, this book is a great setup for Debauched and I kind of cursed that the book is only coming out in April, drat. I need more Ruby and Chad!
