The body couldn't move or work without the brain. It couldn't live without a beating heart. The lungs are super important and a person couldn't live without them either! So which body part matters most? That's the question this fun and funny volume asks readers. The answers come from silly illustrated characters of different body parts arguing why they are most important. The main content supports science curricula as well as knowledge building, a key component of the science of reading.

"Human Body Bits" was a funny and informative children's book about the human body--go figure! :)

Its premise is a competition among the various body bits: Which is the supreme and most important of them all?

I enjoyed how it covered enough of the body systems and organs to explain what they do and a little of how they work without being overwhelming to a younger audience. And the cartoon drawings with their speech bubbles of jokes? Hilarious. Perfect touch to get kiddos interested and enjoying knowledge!

Loved the vibrant colors and patterns and page spreads. Lots of images to occupy your eyes on the page.

My son is a bit young for this book but what he could understand, he enjoyed. This is a great education book about the body, presented in a fun and colorful way.

Even though the blurb says it's for 3rd to 5th grade, my first grader loved this one. I think with teacher direction/reading it could easily skew younger, especially if it's part of a unit or teacher-designed learning or the reader is interested in the topic of understanding the body and its systems. Human Body Bits breaks down the different body systems and concisely explains their importance. Each one makes an argument for why it's most important and includes engaging visuals. This would be a great addition to any elementary school library, classroom library--especially for a science classroom--or any public library collection serving readers grades 1-5. Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!
