Perry Marshall is the king of Google Adwords and has previously in the series "Ultimate Guide ..." written on both Google Adwords and facebook marketing.
In this book local business will learn to get the most out search engines, the 80/20 rule (which Marshall has also written a book about separately, Google Adwords - both why it works fantastically well and what the dangers are (and there are many that can be very costly), the importance of, the creation of and domination with the right landing page, and many more things.
The bottom line there many things for local businesses to know about other than opening a store and selling a product, and most importantly is positioning yourself in the market so that people who are in the market for products such as yours come to you instead of the competition.
If you are a local business, whether online or with a physical store, this book is one you should not do without and in fact you should read and follow its advice and have it down very early on or you will likely not be as successful as you have the potential to be.

The book provided great insight into using Google Adwords at a local level and the rationale behind using it. It also made the case that local businesses don't need to worry if they can't afford a big SEO company. They can use many of the tools themselves. I was little confused about the organization because it wasn't as straightforward as I thought it would be. It was more of a collection of insights from experts about different angles to attack local marketing
