A sweet, very educational, and touching Alphabet explaining Hanukkah, suitable for those who celebrate and for others to learn about the customs of this essential Hebrew holiday. I appreciate the inclusion of terms from Hebrew and from Yiddish in the Alphabet.

A wonderful ABC primer with all things Hanukkuh for kids. The book includes a lot of Hanukkah items you would expect like dreidel, latke, and menorah but there are others like sufganiyot, verklempt, yeladim and zoolbia. The author did a great job picking out the words for this alphabet book. It would be a great way to help little ones understand the different elements of the festival of lights. Thank you Familius and NetGalley for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion!

Hooray! Adina Oberman’s H Is for Hanukkah: A Festival of Lights ABC Primer is so inclusive, including more than just the usual Ashkenazi elements! Sure, there’s Hanukkah gelt and latkes, but there are also biscochos, sufganiyot and zoolbia! Thank you! This board book sports the cutest illustrations as well as lots to discuss.
