Description

Meet Mei, a young Chinese American who has discovered she has the mystical ability to transport herself anywhere that is spiritually "China"-including Chinatowns around the world and different eras of Chinese history. As an adoptive child of the diaspora, Mei was raised in America with no knowledge of Chinese folklore or fairy tales, but when an antiques dealer friend needs help retrieving a mythic artifact-a jade carving of a peach that represented same-sex love in ancient China-she's game to give it a try.

Her quest sends Mei not only into the past, but on a journey of self-discovery.

A Note From the Publisher

A bigender biracial bisexual who spans the gamut of genre and gender, Cecilia Tan is known as a pioneer in queer science fiction and fantasy publishing. Inducted into the Saints & Sinners Hall of Fame in 2010 for her contributions to LGBTQ literature, Tan was recognized as the founder of Circlet Press as well as for her long fiction career. The author of over 100 short stories in publications ranging from Ms. Magazine to Asimov’s, Sunday Morning Transport to Best American Erotica, and over 30 books and novels including the Magic University series, Daron’s Guitar Chronicles, The Prince’s Boy, and The Velderet, she has also been recognized with the RT Book Reviews Career Achievement award and many others. “ctan” (see-tan) as she is commonly known accepts all pronouns but uses she/her for society’s convenience. She recently published a paranormal urban fantasy with BDSM elements entitled Bound by the Blood, and she might be working on another book with dragons... if she doesn’t get distracted wanting to write a very gay chess rivalry novel.
