Opens with an Event Horizon vibe. Team of mercinaries set upon a ship to retrieve a treasure for their ruthless overlord. This is a fast-paced scifi-horror and it hits all the marks for me. I couldn't put it down! Thank-you, K. S. Vale, for this complimentary copy. Opinions expressed are entirely my own.

If Event Horizon and Hellraiser had an abomination baby together, it would be this novella. Unsettling, disturbing and dark, some passages are extremely creepy, and being such a short book, it’s a fast read. Despite the low page count, the characters are well developed and the setting is detailed. The writing is atmospheric, so it’s impossible not to picture the creepy, creepy Harrow. I’m not a huge fan of cosmic horror, but the way it’s shown here is manageable. The dread creeps slowly, until I was screaming at the characters to run, run, ruuuun. The plot is perfect, there isn’t a wasted word. For those who think you need tons of pages to write an engrossing novel, this one shows it’s not the case.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thank you, NetGalley/K.S Vale.
