Description
The Inner Space Traveler (second edition) presents a consciousness-based approach to trauma resolution that emerged from my decades of clinical practice as a psychotherapist. When the methods I had been trained in reached their limits — both with clients and in my own healing — I began exploring what happens when we stop trying to change our experience and instead allow unfiltered awareness to meet it directly. The seven principles in the book describe what I discovered: that transformation occurs not through effort or technique, but through honest, impartial observation that gives consciousness the accurate information it needs to do its work.
The book integrates contemplative practice, epigenetics research on inherited trauma, and direct experiential inquiry in a framework that bridges clinical psychology and consciousness studies. Its central thesis — that self-deception is the primary obstacle to transformation because it distorts the information available to consciousness — offers a distinctive contribution to the transpersonal literature. The approach moves beyond mindfulness-based models by addressing why sustained observation alone often fails to produce lasting change, and what becomes possible when observation is freed from the subtle agendas that typically accompany it.
