Description
Remy’s magic doesn’t work right, and his mentor doesn’t care to find out why. His only concern is keeping Remy quiet, keeping them safe from the Hearkening Hand. But when his mentor dies, his eye-sight stolen and is challenged by the strongest Wanderer alive, Remy abandons his silence. He unleashes something long forgotten by the world; rage. And listening to that rage is an unlikely teacher, a young girl who has never heard anger before.
The two must contend with the horrors of Twilight, sunset light that turns bark to bone and foliage to flesh. But that's not all. This tyrant enforces the Doctrine upon the world, a set of rules that force Wanderers to fight each other.
This world has been carefully constructed for death and indifference. But the question remains… why?

The characters were layered and compelling, with relationships that developed naturally alongside the action and intrigue.
