I LOVE this book!!! Ugh, how desperately we need more authors like Brooklyn Rose writing about consent education and bodily autonomy in our current political climate.

This book is amazing, and so sexy and fun, and I highly recommend it to literally anyone. The main characters, Charlie and Wes, are lovely and have great character development. I completely believe their relationship and desperately hold on to the hope that there are more men like Wes in the real world.

I love the messages in this book, not just about how important sex positive education is but also what a healthy relationship looks like. I hate miscommunication tropes, and though there's a bit of wanting to yell at both characters to tell them to just talk to one another, it was believable enough that I didn't mind it. Wes and Charlie's relationship is supportive and caring, and really based on actual friendship. The sex education message is incredibly important, and the author does a great job conveying that (and also ending on an uplifting and hopeful note).

I HIGHLY recommend this book for everyone, and hope that Brooklyn Rose's message will reach readers. I can't wait to look out for more of her books in the future!!

Charlie is passionate about sex education but has zero personal experience, so when her former best friend turned enemy, Wes Quinn, offers to help, things get complicated (and heated) fast. Add years of unresolved feelings and some seriously good chemistry, and I was completely hooked.

I absolutely LOVED this book.
This was one of those reads that completely consumed me and I ended up finishing it in less than a day because I just couldn't put it down. It was fun, addictive, spicy, and had me goofy smiling the whole way through.
Charlie was such a fantastic FMC. I loved how passionate she was about sex education and safe sex practices, and you can really feel author, Brooklyn Rose's passion for the subject shining through! I especially loved how those conversations and lessons were woven naturally into the romance and spicy scenes rather than feeling preachy or forced. It really made for some laugh out loud moments 🤭

And Wes... 🤤The very first description of him did it for me - “His blond hair falls across his forehead, disheveled in a way she knows is on purpose, the corners of his mouth quirked up in that insufferable smirk”. He was funny, sexy, charming, and I just love him 😍 But what really got me was seeing how much he'd been carrying a torch for Charlie all these years. Some top level pining! 🫠 Looking back through my kindle highlights, I noticed they are mostly adorable/hilarious things he said. Wes Quinn is officially being added to my blond book boyfriend collection.
One thing I really appreciated was that while there were a few twists and turns throughout the story, there wasn't any frustrating miscommunication or unnecessary drama. It was natural, believable, and I never found myself stressed about where things were heading.
This book had such a great balance of heart, heat, humour, and an important message. I loved the characters, the romance, and finished it with the biggest smile on my face.
Also... can we please get a Theo book next? Because I would eat that up. 👀

Everything, from the copious information dumps about contraceptives to the fact that I didn't even know the main character had brown eyes until the epilogue, was so top notch and perfect that I am gnawing on my phone to get my hands on a physical copy of this book. It needs a space on my trophy shelf. I'm going feral.

At first, I wasn't into the third person perspective that this is written in. It felt too detached considering the subject matter. But it works so well. Charlie is a complicated character that knows she isn't relatable or that her life is different from so many people — if we read this in her voice as first person, it would be entirely unbelievable and honestly a little annoying. But that weird sort of detachment that comes from third person perspective helps to keep the character unique and in her own head like it would be for everyone around her.

Lord, the yearning... Swoon. Wes is a prick at times but damn if that doesn't make him all the better.

I highly recommend this for people who love Ali Hazelwood type books and strong, smart FMCs that know what they want (and are sometimes a little bit scared to take it).
