Stressed? Yeah, me too. Settle back and enjoy a fast read of life's best bits, each page one of life's best bits with wonderful illustrations. Life is beautiful, but sometimes we can forget the little moments. Every day has so many good moments. Savor them. This book helps. Enjoy repeated helpings.

This book is a collection of everyday moments that bring joy, comfort, nostalgia, and connection. Through simple illustrations and short observations, it celebrates everything from finishing a good book and listening to live music to receiving an unexpected compliment or taking a short walk. The format is easy to read, but I found myself lingering on many of the pages because they sparked memories of my own experiences.
What I enjoyed most was how relatable the selections felt. Some pages made me laugh, while others immediately transported me back to specific moments in my life. The pages about wind chimes, shared interests with friends, books, music, sunsets, and childhood traditions reminded me how often happiness shows up in ordinary places. Rather than focusing on major milestones, the book encourages readers to appreciate the small moments that quietly shape our lives.
The overall message is one of self-acceptance, gratitude, and finding joy in everyday experiences. I especially appreciated the reminders to embrace the things that make us happy, nurture our inner child, and stop apologizing for harmless choices that make life more enjoyable. The final page simply says “YOU,” which felt like a fitting conclusion to a book dedicated to celebrating life’s best moments. It serves as a gentle reminder that we are part of those moments too.

It would make a thoughtful gift for a friend, family member, or anyone who could use a reminder to slow down and appreciate the little things.
A joyful book about the everyday blessings in our lives. I enjoyed this book so much, and it'd make a wonderful gift for family and friends too. The illustrations were cool, with some bold lineart, simple colors and almost collage-like spreads. The moments picked were so relatable to me!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’m such a big fan of Devin Blow’s! I love her illustration style so much. This was a fun, cute and fast piece of work filled with little things that bring big joy. I was so happy to see my personal favorite was included: blowing bubbles!
Life's Best Bits is such an uplifting book that celebrates the small moments of joy we often overlook. The artwork is absolutely divine, and I especially appreciated the diversity represented throughout the illustrations.
This is the kind of book you can return to whenever life feels heavy. It serves as a gentle reminder that even on difficult days, there are still beautiful little things worth noticing and appreciating. I truly think this is a book that belongs on everyone's bookshelf.

Life's Best Bits by Devon Blow is a fun book with engaging illustrations about many of the small things in life that are good. As I was reading and looking at the pictures, I thought of more to add, like sitting on the porch on a breezy summer evening listening to the birds go to bed. It is a good book to get your mind focusing on all the good things concealed in daily life. It would be a nice gift for someone who is a little overwhelmed, or just so busy they forget to pause and look up. This book is due to be published in September of 2026. While you are waiting though try and see how many best bits you can list.
This book was an advance reader copy provided by NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
If you need a quick, beautiful reminder that the world is full of comforting, hilarious, and deeply relatable moments, this book is a fun read to flip through.
This book feels like a warm, colorful hug. Devon Blow has captured the essence of finding joy in the everyday, all brought to life with her vibrant and inclusive art style. It is the perfect feel-good book to have lying around for an instant dopamine hit.
The pages that personally attacked me (in the best way possible):
"Cancelled plans when you didn't want to go out anyway" – The absolute peak of adult luxury. That guilt-free "snow day" feeling is captured perfectly.
"Keeping a plant alive for longer than 6 months" – my newest adult achievement
"Nurturing your inner child" & "Beautiful sunsets" – gentle, grounding reminders to slow down, look up, and let ourselves play.
The absolute mic-drop ending pointing right back at "YOU" is the sweetest, most uplifting touch. It reframes the entire book from a list of happy things to a celebration of your presence in the world.
