It’s a wonderful love story between a matchmaker and her client. It’s well written and a fun read. The two main characters are strong individuals who compliment each other. The addition of James’ two sons, Jordan and Robert, were a great addition to the story. I loved Robert, he is going to be a ladies man with a silver tongue. I loved the strong bond they have with their father and that was unusual in that day and time. The story has numerous moments of hilarity that made it worth reading.

A worthy addition to a delightful series! Gwen is a spinster who's been betrothed for 10 years to Andrew, six of those years after the war ended, and there is no sign of him. As in zero. No one in his family or with the army will tell her anything, yet she's still attached to him. Or at least the idea of him. She's become known for her matchmaking and has been trying to find the perfect bride for James, Marquess of Milbury, a widower with two sweet boys. He's rejected every candidate she's offered. Instead he realizes that he's fallen for her (his boys fell in love with her first!). James knows she won't act on her feelings for him until something is resolved with Andrew and hires a runner to investigate. Gwen talks him into hosting a house party to meet new candidates, and he talks her into being his hostess. Their chemistry is perfect and her situation tries his patience. I have to say, I love a mature romance! Meara Platt's Silver Dukes and Silver Duchess series are wonderful and I absolutely recommend them all!

James Milbury, the Marquis of Milbury, is a widower desperately in need of help raising two adventurous sons who are sorely missing a mother’s love. So he turns to Lady Gwendolyn Carstairs, the beautiful spinster residing on Duchess Square is renowned for her matchmaking skills. Lady Gwendolyn Carstairs has been betrothed for over a decade but her fiancé Andrew went off to war & didn’t return but there’s no record of his death so she’s still waiting for him as she’s convinced he’s alive.
Another riveting romance which I loved. James is older, starting to have silver at his temples, he had a happy marriage & has two delightful boys who he loves & spends time with, he’s intelligent & hard working – so toe curlingly gorgeous & he falls first. Gwen is in her thirties, intelligent, innocent & loving but can’t see that James is perfect for her. I loved the humour, the banter & the chemistry. The two boys adored Gwen & she loved them. I loved everything about this book, it ticked all the boxes for me & I wondered how they would find their HEA

Meara has written a wonderful book yet again, full of passion and lighthearted banter, many characters ones we’ve met in other books and some new ones to.

They start with a few difficulties and differences of opinion, however soon the two become not only friends but find they are falling for each other.
The Marquess, his sons and Gwen find happiness in the Square.

A great read , I loved it .

This may be my favorite in the series so far. This is a love story, and a side of mystery with a twist. I could have read this in one sitting if I had the time. Platt's books are written so well they make me feel like I'm in the room and a part of the story.

James Milbury, Marquess of Milbury is a widower with two children (Robert, 10 & Jordan, 13). He wants to marry for the sake of his boys, not thinking he could find love again. Lady Gwendolyn Carstairs is a matchmaker and resides on Duchess Square. She is 32, and has been betrothed for 10 years to her childhood friend, Andrew Clermont. As a second son Andrew went off to fight Napoleon and never came home. he didn't die, just disappeared.. The story centers around Gwen and James, a house party for finding him a match, frolicking in the sea, two rambunctious boys and a return of the missing fiancé. Falling in love is easy for James, Gwen fights it, but comes around.

Everything pulls together nicely and there are a few hints to Book 4. I love the meddling friends from the Silver Dukes that appear for added humor. A little steam and lots of love. A perfect read for a long afternoon.

He wants his matchmaker…

James is a widower with two growing sons.
Lady Gwendolyn is tasked with finding James his match and she decides after he passes on yet another ton girl to take the search to his estate along with a bevy of way too young wannabes.

James is great, as is Gwendolyn.
His sons are fun and clever.
Overall, a though enjoyable read.
Recommend.
