​Lift the Flap: Discovery! Dinosaurs is a vibrant, interactive, and genuinely educational non-fiction book that young dinosaur enthusiasts will love.

​The artwork is bright and accessible, and the flaps do a fantastic job revealing meaningful paleontological concepts—from skull and jaw defense mechanisms to nesting habits, feathers, and the asteroid extinction event. The visual comparisons generally work brilliantly to bring massive scale down to a child's perspective.

​A couple of small design suggestions that could make the layout even stronger:

​- Timeline Orientation: Adding an upward arrow to the introductory "Time of the Dinosaurs" sidebar to help young readers intuitively follow the chronological flow from bottom (Triassic) to top (Cenozoic).

- ​Text-to-Image Consistency: Adding explicit copy to the Argentinosaurus flap (e.g., "It was as long as three buses!") to match the visual cue, just like the clear text explaining the pigeon comparison for Parvicursor.

- Scale Comparison on Prehistoric Spreads: On the "Seas and Skies" page, showing a modern girl standing in the wild next to the giant Griffinfly feels visually confusing, as it unintentionally suggests humans coexisted with prehistoric creatures. Using an object comparison instead would keep the prehistoric immersion intact.

​A top-tier, engaging board book for early learning and classrooms!

My son absolutely loved this book. He is obsessed with Dinosaurs and loved seeing all the illustrations of the dinosaurs and it was fun to read him the facts. There are so many flaps which is perfect.

As a teacher, books with flaps to lift and reveal information like this one are always engaging. I teach about dinosaurs in my classroom and would certainly add this book to my collection. This book is informative about the different periods of when dinosaurs were alive, tells about what they ate, and what they did to survive. The graphics are great and show the difference in types of dinosaurs. I don’t have any suggestions for improvements, but would love to add to my teacher wishlist.

A beautiful, interactive way to explore the world of dinosaurs!

I loved this. Lift the Flap: Discovery! Dinosaurs is colorful, engaging, packed with information, and designed in a way that makes learning feel like discovery rather than a lesson.

The 75 flaps aren’t just a gimmick—they actually add to the educational experience, revealing additional facts, explanations, comparisons, and illustrations. I especially loved the visual comparisons that make huge concepts easier for children to understand. The illustrations are colorful and dynamic, showing movement and helping bring prehistoric animals and environments to life.

There is a lot of information here, so I don’t necessarily see younger children sitting down and reading every word or opening all 75 flaps at once. Instead, that’s part of what gives this book such great re-read value. Kids can explore whatever catches their attention, learn a few things, and come back another day to discover something new. Younger dinosaur lovers may enjoy it most as a read-and-explore-together book, while older or stronger readers can investigate more independently.

This would make a fantastic gift for a dinosaur-loving child or for parents and caregivers looking for a fun, visually engaging way to teach kids about prehistoric life.

Beautiful, educational, and genuinely fun to explore. I would happily add this one to a child’s bookshelf.

My four year old daughter really likes dinosaurs so she really enjoyed this book. The illustration was very well done.
