Description
The perfect book when expecting a baby! From the moment of conception to the excitement of welcoming a new sibling into the family, Grow, Grow, Little Baby celebrates all the stages of pregnancy and encourages brothers and sisters to joyfully anticipate the new arrival while they also marvel at how God knits together each tiny life.
Inside of Mommy's belly,
the baby starts to grow.
Two arms and legs, a little tail,
but Mommy doesn't know.
Grow, grow, little baby!
Perfect for anyone preparing for a new baby, Grow, Grow, Little Baby is a lyrical look at each pregnancy stage. Follow a brother and sister as they cheer on the in-utero growth of their new sibling, while additional illustrations and scientific facts help kids understand how a baby grows from the size of a poppy seed to a watermelon. The story marks common pregnancy milestones, like getting an ultrasound picture, feeling the baby kick, and preparing the nursery, and allows future siblings to follow along as the baby develops senses like hearing and sight, grows hair, and turns to prepare for delivery. A joyful celebration of the miracle of birth, Grow, Grow, Little Baby both helps kids get excited about a new baby coming into their lives and shows them how they also grew in-utero before they were welcomed into the world.
Grow, Grow Little Baby:
- is perfect for children who are expecting a new sibling, or any new parent eagerly anticipating the birth of their child.
- makes a great baby shower gift for first-time parents and future siblings.
- includes extensive back matter with scientific information and an illustrated chart showing the baby’s growth.

This little book is fantastic! It shows big brothers- and sisters-to-be what their baby looks like as it grows. There's also a section in the back that describes more about how the baby is developing each month.
I loved the artwork and the refrain--"Yum, yum little baby! Grow, grow little baby!"
THIS BOOK HAS THE SPARK!
Science has captured- on film- light that envelops an egg the second sperm enters in. "In the beginning, there was light"! AMEN! I ADORE that this book includes this scientifically proven fact that points back to Scripture and God's plan for humanity! Who wouldn't love a book that is 100% scientifically accurate and still appropriate for tiny humans to understand what is happening "in mama's tummy" and build a connecting bond with babe before their sibling even arrives?!
Every external moment is captured for littles alongside an internal peek at the little babe! From before 6 weeks (the average time moms discover they are expecting!), showing the true picture of what a baby looks like in-utero (NOT a "clump of cells"), to first kicks in the teen weeks, and an ultrasound at 20 weeks showing a perfect developing baby, albeit a little to small to breathe on their own just yet! Kids see themselves in the older kids in this book and begin to comprehend what is happening in the mysteries of pregnancy. They learn they can talk to and play with their sibling before the baby is even born. There are incredible video ultrasounds of babies smiling and laughing at just hearing their parents' voices, responding to light and strong flavors after mom eats them, sneezing, and feeling pain. These universal truths must be acknowledged and this book does an incredible job of revealing it!
The growth comparison chart at the end of the book is so helpful for adults and kids to visualize the size of the developing baby. After that comes a monthly week-breakdown of developmental milestones and scientific truths. A beautiful, true book perfect for littles, but MUCH needed for every adult to understand here on Earth.
This book should be gifted to all expectant moms who already have a little at home. Libraries should have many copies available, and it should be referenced as a fact-checker for all confused adults who were misinformed on neonatal development.
Thank you to Zonderkidz and NetGalley for the ARC!

I LOVED this book. I want to add it to our library when it is released. My daughter really enjoyed this story and seeing the baby at each stage.

This was such a cute book I enjoyed reading it to my son even though my daughter was already born it was a nice book to be able to read to him. I enjoyed asking him do you remember when baby sister was in mommy's belly and he really enjoyed the book and thinking about baby sister. After reading he told us he wants a baby brother. Very cute book to read if you're pregnant and you have younger kids who are going to become big brothers or big sisters
