Description

A silent call for help began the friendship between two children. A bond unlike any other kept them together.

Finn was just a kid when he first heard Snow’s voice inside his head, two children in need of a friend and finding one in mysterious strangers. Never meeting in person, the pair grows up as opposites – Finn the boy who loves to get in trouble and works for the toughest drug lord in town, Snow the good, sheltered girl who wants to be a doctor.

The bond built upon a strange ability to hear each other’s thoughts is threatened when Snow is abducted, her screams for help consuming Finn’s mind until they disappear completely, submerging him in a terrifying silence he’s never known before. Now it’s up to Finn to save her, led only by Snow’s sporadic thoughts as she floats in and out of consciousness.

But the search for Snow leads him to a truth he isn’t prepared to face, a truth that has the power to unravel his entire world. The people he thought he knew, the life he thought he’d made, the best friend he thought he could protect – all point toward a brutal reality should he fail.

And as Finn struggles to find Snow before she slips away, he must fight to keep that reality out, lest he let the chaos in.

Psychological thrillers are ALL the rage these days and in this book, I found another 5 star contender.

There's not much I can add to the synopsis which gives you a good sense of the book.

What I can say is that I was riveted. That Snow and Finn developed an unusual psychic connection out of nowhere and having never met each other was of particular interest to me.

If you dislike this kind of element and dismiss it as magical realism, I recommend you don't pass on this book. If it otherwise is appealing and you like a good psych thriller, I believe odds are good you'll be glad you did.

Thank you to the publisher for the free copy of this book in exchange for this honest review.

The Silent Sounds of Chaos

Red Coat PR Mystery & Thrillers

Pub Date 19 May 2016 I was given a copy of The Silent Sounds of Chaos through the publisher and their partnership with Netgalley in exchange for my honest review which is as follows:

A seven year old boy frightened alone in a closet, hiding from the strange men his Mother has brought to the trailor men he is scared of.

A voice, he isn't sure is real at first but it brings him comfort. He's not alone.

A little girl, a new town and a new Mommy who loves her. The best Mommy ever.

They come up with nick names for one another she calls him Finn, he calls her snow.

By the time she is seventeen Snow has become a beautiful young woman.

Finn feels Snow leaving his head one day, as he makes decisions that push him farther and farther away. In many ways he is following his Mothers wreckless path.

When he's twenty Snow is there once more trying to get him to stop drinking and driving.

He realizes then that she is in trouble, Some big tattooed men kidnapped her, and all he knows about Snow is that she is going to College somewhere in the Bible Belt. She never even gave her, her real name.

Finally after an online search he realizes a college student was kidnapped in Georgia.

But who is Snow, does she really exist, or is she a mere figment of his imagination a way for him to escape the realities of his life?

Find out in The Silent Sounds of Chaos.

Five out of five stars
