Description

Frank Rodriguez, a much-loved counselor of troubled teens, lies dead on the bedroom floor. His wife and step-daughter are in shock, and so is the medical examiner when he performs the autopsy. Aside from being dead, Frank is in perfect health.

Demanding to know the cause of her husband’s death, Angie Rodriguez badgers the police, insisting that Frank was murdered. The cops attribute her assertions to overwhelming grief, but soon they too believe that Frank didn’t die of natural causes.

When the police enlist their number one suspect to help in the investigation, things spiral out of control until police are dealing with a daring plot to murder Angie’s best friend, and allegations of another homicide so evil and perverse that even seasoned L.A County Detectives are shocked beyond belief ... and so will the readers!

A detailed true account of a woman raised for murder. We'll written. Mind boggling account of what a person will do for money. You truly felt the loss and damage done to everyone in this true story. A definite us to read. I am always surprised at the depravity that people have in their minds and hearts. This book brings this case back to life. 5 Stars!

This book tells the story of Angelina and Frank Rodriguez. Frank dies and in the beginning his death is classified as a normal death, nothing unusual was noted. Then his with begins to ask questions and wants to know what happened, why he had to die.
Well, I'm not a criminal, but why would you go and ask the police and make them suspicious of yourself? If Angelina would have been quiet, nothing further would have happened. But with everything she did, she only made herself more of a questionable person. And after the police finding out about the death of her baby girl a decade ago, she is having a hard time convincing them of her innocence.
I am watching a lot of true crime shows and read a lot of crime books, but this one was really hard to read. I understand that Angelina had a tough childhood and that abuse always causes problems long after it ended. But that can't be an excuse for everything. Not everybody becomes a murderer because of a shitty upbringing. And seeing what a good guy Frank was, there is no understanding for what she did. She could have walked away, lived a different life. The thought of her little girl dying, is making me angry. Even if Angelina is having problems with showing emotions, I can't imagine a mother walking away from her dead baby, standing outside, patiently waiting for the EMTs. This book will stay with me for a long time and I encouraged all my friends to read it, because I need someone to discuss it with.

I was provided a free copy of this book by Net Galley for a fair and honest review. This is a well-written book that explores the long-range and far-reaching effects of abuse from incest to murder. Obviously the child was damaged, but there have been many damaged children who never murdered. The resource compendium at the end of the book should be helpful to those who need a helping hand.

Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

I watch a lot of true crime shows and I remember watching an episode of "Deadly Women" about Angie Rodriguez, when I saw this book, I knew I would love to read more about the story. It was very well written and insightful. Frank was a good guy who fell for the wrong woman. Angelina Rodriguez was cold hearted murderer who tried to lay blame on anyone she could and it turns out, Frank's is not the only murder she was guilty of. Chilling really, reading the details of her life and the untimely death of Frank, who by all means, seemed like a good man.

Well written and researched book.
