Madison has wrangled an invitation to an internship working for Judge Kathryn Conroy. A judge with a reputation. But Madison has a connection to the judge that no one knows about. Beginning your new career with a secret is never great, but the judge has secrets of her own.
Madison’s brother, Danny, is in prison for drugs. None of us think he did anything, but he is terrified of Judge Kathryn! Right away you get the sense that this is messy. A judge on the take from the mob? Maybe.
When Danny goes missing after accusing the said judge of improper conduct, Madison digs deeper into her. What she finds is confusing. Is she crooked? Is she a victim?
They could join forces or they could just kill each other.
This was not my favorite by this author. It kept to the formula though.
