"Weaver's Needle" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. Both Nick and Landry are recovery specialists who use a chunk of cash. They both accept a challenge by a rich, newly-widowed woman to recover a treasure map that went missing when her husband was murdered.
The two initially worked on their own, but they soon realized the only way to survive and succeed was to work together. And they made a great team. They even had different approaches so they weren't just repeating the same efforts or ideas. The suspense came from the frequent physical danger from the murderer (who wanted them gone), scorpions, and "ghost warrior" Native Americans who guarded the mine.
There were detailed scenes of some shamans making petitions to their Great Spirit and a vision quest, and some locals believed the Native Americans guarding the mine were spirits/ghosts. In contrast, Landry prayed a few, brief prayers, and Nick let go of his anger toward God. It seemed like more time was spent on the shaman's religion than on God. There was no bad language or sex. Overall, I'd recommend this exciting adventure.

WEAVER'S NEEDLE by Robin Caroll , and Barbour Publishers.
Landry is a recovery specialist, as is Nickolai, they both meet at a client's home. A wealthy widow wants them to retrieve a map that was stolen from her late husband. Of the Dutchman's Lost Gold Mine, the document stolen before he could get to the bank, and deposit it. These 2 need the money, but why pit them against one another. Who gets it first, gets the money..the cop in Nickolai, keeps saying it's evidence in the murder of her husband. Cashier check for a million to buy the map, was it now on the black market. Landry asking why did she take it, was it just the money or the challenge. Nickolia calls his friend on the force, what's their take on the document, they have it as an "alleged document." No map, no briefcase, even with all the security cameras There was another bidder, and what about Stan, who has been with the company a long time, yet, wanting Mr. Winslet to slow down. The intrigue has just begun, the story line was good, characters well defined. Another good mystery by Robin for all to enjoy, and looking forward to her next book. Given ARC by Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

This is a good book and not predictable. You enjoy the characters and see their attraction for each other develop. There is plenty of suspense trying to figure out who did the crime.

An intriguing plot, with plenty of action, and a romance to boot, made this an entertaining read! Characters who struggle with family concerns, including mental health issues, and the fight to survive as they hunt for a lost treasure map, made for interesting reading. Faith and doubts based on difficult life experiences added an inspirational side to the story. The romance went from zero to sixty in a short time, with a quick reconciling of faith, which seemed a little bit bumpy, but worked out in the end. The mixing in of Native American traditions and spiritualism fit the story well, given the Arizona setting, and added tension to the plot.
Recommend to readers who enjoy romantic suspense!

Mystery, suspense and romance is this authors specialty. This book contained them all and had me turning the pages to find out what happened next. The setting started in New Orleans and went to Arizona. The ride along the way had me sitting on the edge of my seat. The characters had depth, the plot was amazing and the message was inspirational. I definitely recommend this book. I was given a copy of this book by the publisher and was under no obligation to leave a review.

Robin Caroll has written another award winning book. It started out a little slow but picked up as it went along. The Dutchman's lost gold mine has been written about for years and many people have gone looking for the gold. This book tells the tale of greed leading to murder. Then murder attempts on the heroine and hero. You'll have to read the book to see if they find the gold mine. I highly recommend you read the book.
I was given Weaver's Needle by Netgalley for a honest review. I was not compensated in anyway.

Landry Parker and Nickolai Baptiste, two recovery specialists on the search for a stolen map that supposedly leads to the Lost Dutchman Mine. There is suspense from the beginning with an unsolved murder and the stolen map and interesting characters that you don't know if they are good or bad guys. Robin Caroll's descriptions of Arizona and Weaver's Needle make you feel like you are there. There is plenty of suspense and a little bit of romance and a spiritual journey that the characters don't even realize they are on.

I love a little romance, especially muddled within a good mystery. But I really love a good mystery. The summary of this book pulled me in from the get go. And the book really lived up to my expectations and so much more. I loved all the twists and turns throughout the book. As soon as you felt you had it all figured out, another wrench was thrown into the plot. Great read!

I love a good mystery and Robin Caroll has supplied this in Weaver's Needle. What's better than a lost treasure and an ancient treasure map? .....Landry Parker and Nickolai Baptiste are recovery experts that are hired by a wealthy widow to recover a treasure map that was taken when her husband was murdered. The first person to find the map will receive fifty thousand dollars. As they each began searching for clues to the treasure, they find there is someone else after the treasure and they are willing to kill for it. Their search takes them from New Orleans to Weaver’s Needle in Arizona to the sacred grounds of Native Americans. As the danger increases they begin to join together for safety and also to compare clues for their search. A hint of romance, danger, suspense and intrigue makes for a good read............

I've been reading Robin Caroll's books a long time and I love them. It seems like it's been forever since I read one, too. This one was tremendous! Great characters that leapt off the page, great situations and a great plot!

Weaver's Needle is my first read by Robin Caroll but certainly will not be my last! This book has all of the elements of a book that I enjoy--mystery, action, romance and just good writing.
Landry Parker, former Army MP and former detective, Nickolai Baptiste, both of New Orleans and now work in the recovery of stolen artifacts, are hired by Winifred Winslet, the widow of Bartholomew Winslet, to recover a map to the Dutchman's Lost Gold mIne in Arizona that was stolen from her husband when he was murdered. The twist is that the first to find the map is rewarded with $50,000. Both Landry and Nick need the money for different reasons. Once in Arizona, someone is trying to scare them away. As the situation gets dangerous for them, they decide to work together to find who has the map and maybe the murderer of Winslet. Two friends of the Winslets are there to oversee the search for the map. Stan was sent with them by Winifred but Phillip just showed up saying that he was there to make sure that Winifred is not taken advantage of. Both men love Winifred and maybe one of the them is the one that killed Bart and is trying to get them off the case. Mixed in the story was Native American folklore that says that Ghost Warriors protect the mine from being found by white people. There are many Native Americans in Apache Junction. Maybe one of them is trying to scare them away.
Ms. Caroll does a great job at plot and character development and scenery description. This is an action packed, fast paced story that will keep the pages turning. I found the Native American element very interesting and it worked out well with the mystery surrounding the legend of the lost mine. Landry's parents died of natural causes but Nick's parents died in a house fire caused by his sister who suffers from schizophrenia and lives in a care facility. While Landry relies on her faith, Nick does not see how God could allow such events to happen.
I recommend this read and thank NetGalley and Barbour Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Part mystery, part Indian folklore, part race for the gold, & part romance makes this story intriguing enough to keep you turning pages!
Both Landry Parker and Nickolai Baptiste are pitted against each other tasked with finding an old treasure map that's worth a fortune. Which in turn, can lead them to an old mine Indians believe to contain what's called Dutchman's Lost Gold worth millions. Heading to Weaver's Needle Arizona begins their journey piecing together the clues on where to find the map and bring it back to the widow whose husband was killed for it! Is this a race for the treasure or for their very lives?
I really enjoyed learning about the legend of the Dutchman's Lost Gold mine in the Indian culture. It added a fascinating layer to the mystery surrounding the story. Competition between Landry and Nickolai is fierce and mistrust is high. It added tension & conflict enough to keep me rooting for them both. As the stakes are raised, I enjoyed seeing them begin to work together and through their differences. There were a few high tense scenes to keep me on my toes. Romance was just the right pace and I think it took them both by surprise. The book was well-written and thoroughly researched, a true delight to read. It was my first book by this author, but certainly not my last. I'll be searching for more from her!

Weaver’s Needle by Robin Caroll begins as a wealthy widow hires two competing recovery specialists to obtain the map her husband was killed for. Landry Parker and Nickolai Baptiste are each other’s biggest competition and they are both desperate for the huge finder’s fee that will go to the person who finds this map. The quest to find the map quickly becomes dangerous and it is not clear who can be trusted. Landry and Nickolai find themselves in the difficult position of only being able to trust each other as unforeseen events keep occurring. This was the first book that I read by Robin Caroll and I impressed with the steady movement in the plot that kept my continued interest throughout the story. I definitely recommend this book for readers who love mystery/suspense. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Nickolai Baptiste and Landry Parker are both recovery experts in New Orleans. They are each to find the map for the Lost Dutchman's Mine in Arizona. They each have their reasons for needing the money which the one who finds the map will get. They find that they have an attraction for each other as well as being competitors. When the accidents, or maybe not so accident start happening then they decide to work together. Landry's faith in God is strong but Nickolai not so much. Can he overcome his feelings and get back to God? That is only one of the questions to be answered in this story.

Weaver’s Needle is a book by a new-to-me author, Robin Carroll. The book sounded interesting and I really was not sure what to expect. What I got was a plotline that would make any Indiana Jones lover proud.
To start out, I absolutely loved the premise of this novel. A murder with a missing item. Two people pitted against each other to be the first to recover said item. Legends, curses, and intrigue surround everything else. The book moved steadily forward and certainly kept my interest. My one complaint is that despite all the opportunities for it, this book just didn’t have the amount of tension I would suspect. But that didn’t hinder my enjoyment of it too much.
All in all, I found Weaver’s Needle to be a unique book. It’s a storyline that at least for me, did not feel overdone. I can honestly say that there were a lot of unexpected moments and events in the book and it kept my interest throughout. I also enjoyed the bit of local legend and Native American beliefs tossed in. All was handled well I thought and the prevailing message of the book aligned itself with Christian beliefs.
If you are looking for a book that falls a bit more into the realm of an adventure with a bit of mystery thrown in, this might be a book worth picking up.

Weaver's Needle by Robin Carroll is a book whose pages are infused with drama, suspense, and unexpected romance. Nickolai and Landry, both recovery specialists, have taken on a case to find a missing treasure map. One that pits them against each other as the only one to get paid is the one who finds the map first. But the competition becomes complicated and convoluted. Warnings are given but each decides to continue the search. Who will find the map? Will they even survive the search effort? Who is out to stop them? The author does a fantastic job telling the history of Weaver's Needle and the American Indian legends surrounding the map and the cave to which it leads. Shamans, Shadow Warriors, dream visions, all to protect the site. The story moves quickly with lots of action, several twists to the plot and an earth-shattering, world-spinning, steal-your-heart kind of kiss. Whew, where's my fan? Tough subjects such as mental illness, death and the whys of illness and disease are briefly touched on throughout. Woven with the themes of strong friendships, restoration, guilt, and grief is Landry's faith in a God who loves and cares throughout difficult times. Nickolai, though, is of a different bent--if there was a superior being, it didn't play fair. The tension mounts and where will these contrary beliefs lead these two characters. Weaver's Needle is a story full of strong energy and great descriptive writing, making one feel like you are right there in the scene. A story lovers of mysteries and romance will not want to miss.

Superstition Mountains, AZ is the setting for this adventurous read! Full of adventure, mystery, and a little bit of romance, Robin Carolll's newest title release is sure to fulfill the reading desires of fans.
Landry Parker, a former MP, and Nickolai Baptiste, a former police detective, are pitted against each other in a race to see who can find the missing information their client is desiring. As recovery specialists, the goal is to find the missing map and the Dutchman's Lost Gold Mine first and claim the prize as their own. This treasure hunt leads Landry and Nickolai to very beautiful Indian country. Both Landry and Nickolai feel a sense of not being welcome shortly after their arrival there. They do not let that get in the way, but what about their feelings for each other?
I loved the characters in this book and how the author weaved them together so seamlessly. The interjections of Gopan's story were fascinating! This is a fairly fast-paced book that I was able to read quickly because I couldn't put it down!
Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me to receive a complimentary copy of this book for review. The thoughts and opinions are my own.

Weaver's Needle is a mystery, Suspense, adventure with romance all rolled up into one story - which took me aback because there was so much going on and yet the author was able to weave in the Romance into so much that was going on all around them yet in the midst of them - This book is abounding in fun, addicting so you can't put it down, abundantly absorbing - I didn't even hear them call me for lunch, colorfully creative. The author sure knows how to pull you in and most of all they keep you there - it is a book that talks to you especially about THE most important thing - FAITH - how could you go wrong with GOD as your leader? Amen? This book has twists and turns and surprises and love - yeeeehaaaa.........

I have been a fan of Robin Caroll’s novels since I first discovered them through a Love Inspired books subscription. Those novels were enjoyable so I was happy to see her later novels released in trade fiction format. When “Weaver’s Needle” showed up in my Amazon Vine queue it was a no-brainer to request it immediately.
“Weaver’s Needle” is a modern suspense novel based upon the legend of the lost Dutchman’s gold mine believed to be located somewhere in the Superstition Mountains. Two recovery specialists are hired to find a stolen map believed to lead to the mine by the widow of the man who owned the map. There is one catch though. The only one who will be paid is the first to find the map. Both Landry Parker and Nickolai Baptiste are good at their jobs and they both desperately need the $40,000 offered by the client. Which of them will prevail?
As is always the case with Caroll’s novels, I found myself immediately snared by the story. It was exciting to read about the individual progress Landry and Nickolai made in their quest for the lost map as the competition grew more heated. Several surprising twists kept me engaged and the Indian lore that was inserted occasionally into the narrative made it all the more interesting. There was never a time that I had it all figured out and I love it when that happens.
Strong characters, a well-planned plot, and plenty of drama, danger, and romance combined with a strong message of faith worked together to earn “Weaver’s Needle” a permanent space on my keeper shelf.

I almost didn't read this book, and I am so glad I did. Weaver's Needle, by Robin Caroll, is one of the best books I have read this year. This intriguing mystery pulls the reader into an old Native American legend while following the twists, turns, and dangers of unravelling a crime in the pursuit of a stolen document; and yes, there is a little romance thrown in.
Landry Parker, former military police, and Nickolai Baptiste, former city police, are recovery specialists charged with finding a missing document -- an old map passed down through generations. The map was recently purchased, then stolen, and the new owner murdered. The fee is $50,000 going to the one who locates the map. In the process, their competition throws them together in an unexpected way, and they soon realize their distrust of each other has slowly vanished.
Caroll, author of twenty-five novels, and winner of many awards for her fiction, weaves both her Christian faith and the faith of the Apache nation into her stories in such a way that the reader willingly goes along on the journey filled with examples of compassion, love, guilt, forgiveness, and second chances. The story is a prime example of the struggle between good and evil, as Nick and Landry risk their lives in trying to solve this crime of theft, murder, and greed.
If you enjoy a good mystery, you will love Weaver's Needle. It should be next on your "books to read" list. Look for me online as The Grumpy Book Reviewer.

I enjoyed reading Weaver's Needle by Robin Caroll. There was something for everyone in this book. I enjoyed the suspense and adventure with a bit of romance tossed in. I found Ms. Caroll's knowledge of Navaho customs fascinating. She wove themes of faith throughout the story without coming across as a sermon. I usually don't care for books set in the south, but this book is the exception. So grab a cup of tea and curl up for a good read.

Biography
"I love boxing. I love Hallmark movies. I love fishing. I love scrapbooking. Nope, I've never fit into the boxes people have wanted to put me in." ~Robin Caroll is definitely a contradiction, but one that beckons you to get to know her better.
Born and raised in Louisiana, Robin is a southerner through and through. Her passion has always been to tell stories to entertain others. Robin's mother, bless her heart, is a genealogist who instilled in Robin the deep love of family and pride of heritage--two aspects Robin weaves into each of her 30 published novels.
When she isn't writing, Robin spends time with her husband of twenty+ years, her three beautiful daughters and two handsome grandsons, and their character-filled pets at home--in the South, where else?
She serves the writing community as Executive Director/Conference Director for ACFW.
Her books have finaled/placed in such contests as the Carol Award, Holt Medallion, RT Reviewer's Choice Award, Bookseller's Best, and Book of the Year.
On her faith, Robin says, "I love Jesus and will follow Him wherever He leads me."
An avid reader herself, Robin loves hearing from and chatting with other readers. Although her favorite genre to read is mystery/suspense, of course, she'll read just about any good story. Except historicals!

This is the first book by Robin Caroll that I have read and I was quite impressed. I love inspirational romantic suspense and have quite a few authors that are my favorites; Ms. Caroll will join that list of favorite authors. The book was well-written, seemingly well-researched (though I don't know much about Apache tribe and its traditions and beliefs), fast-paced with a bit of romance thrown in. The book also had a strong thread of faith woven into the storyline which I appreciated. Anyone who enjoys contemporary romantic suspense would love this novel.
The plot is action-packed and left me breathless at moments. The characters are flawed but deeply layered with hurts and mistakes that haunt them. Landry comes off at first as a know-it-all who is prickly just because she can be. She needs a large amount of money to keep her recovery company afloat and she wants to do this for her father's legacy. Nickolai is a retired cop now working in the recovery industry who first acts like an arrogant jerk, full of himself and his abilities. He needs a large amount of money to take his younger sister out of the hospital into a halfway house that is believed to be able to help her reintegrate into the real world. A wealthy patron hires them both and pits them against each other to recover a map to a legendary gold mine that was stolen when the patron's husband is murdered. Throw in a handful of possible suspects for the murder with Landry and Nick's developing feelings for each other, and we have a pretty awesome read that can't be put down.
I received a copy of this book from Barbour Publishing via NetGalley. I was not required to write a favorable review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

This book was really good! It took me back to my Nancy Drew Days. The story was a thrilling treasure hunt full of adventure. The plot was unique and unexpected and the romance between the main characters was really sweet. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review this book!
