Description

The start to a sexy new series from New York Times bestselling author, Kendall Ryan...

She’s much too innocent for me, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting the sweet, young librarian. I’m dominating and possessive, and my control streak runs a mile wide.

The way she looks at me—like I’m one of the heroes in the books she loves, like I’m broken, and she wants to be the one to piece me back together—it only complicates things further. I’m nobody’s hero.

But there’s no denying my tragic past reads like one of her favorite literary classics. It’s raw. Visceral. Captivating. And together, we’re a perfect mess.

How can I resist when the sexual sparks zapping between us set me on fire? The need to control, and claim her force my walls to come tumbling down, but when she learns about my dirty little secret, will my world come crashing down with it?

The story continues in Dirty Little Promise, releasing October 9th.

Every time I pick up a Kendall Ryan book, I get sucked into the world she has created and fall hopelessly in love with her characters. This was especially true for this book. I want to befriend them, I want to help fix them, but most importantly, I really, really want them to have their happy endings. The ending of this book had my heart dropping to my stomach and me biting my nails in anticipation for the next book in the series.... truly, I can't wait. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, this book is so worth it.

This was my first Kendall Ryan book, but it won't be my last. I was drawn into Gavin Kingsley immediately. He's intriguing, sexy, and has no use for a relationship. But along comes Emma and she's too much to resist. The heat between the two of them sizzled off the pages. He was so stubborn and it was fun to see him come into his own with Emma. I felt like she took advantage of Gavin's brother at times. I loved him and hope he gets a book. He deserves to find his person. I had no idea this ended on a cliffhanger, but it's definitely one of those throw your Kindle moments. I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Secrets can be kept, but sooner or later, they come out in the open and Kendall Ryan knows how enticing dark secrets are for her readers..

A story filled with passion, dark secrets, and fulfilling angst that keeps you on your toes, Kendall Ryan has brought the suspense romance that I have been missing. Ever since I read the Filthy Beautiful Lies series, I knew that Kendall is capable of the kind of romance that applies suspense and graceful chemistry. Gavin Kingsley is a man that possess an abundance of power, along side with his two brothers. The three of them own a company that acquires desire for those who seek it and can comply to it. That’s where Emma Bell comes in the picture… well, sort of. Though they “met” at a coffee shop, and have caught glances at each other through the days they both get coffee, there is something intriguing about Gavin that Emma wants to know about. However, she is an individual with the whole cliche aspect of a librarian: shy, modest, and curious about life even though she does not endure it. After an “incident” that leads her to Gavin’s office and her finding out what kind of business he is involved with, she is curious on what he can “show” her.

After doing the final introductions, and meeting another Kingsley brother, Emma is more intrigued on their “proposal” and wants to be a part of it just get closer to Gavin, even though Cooper is somewhat getting interested in what Emma has to offer. She is a light into the darkness that Gavin needs, especially with the past that he has had before. Cooper wants in on what she has to offer, and somewhat Emma finds his affections as a friendly demeanor. To him though, it’s different. Gavin on the other hand, wants to act as if he is not affected by Emma’s emotional frontier, however, she has the power to make his knees weak and fall to her worship and power. He is hard to please and also very hard to let his guard down.

After rehashing each other’s feelings towards each other, and Gavin admitting it, Emma finds the truth about his past. Something that has her questioning whether she should be with him or not. Gavin, being the man in control, is conflicted about the things he feels for her, but deep he knows he needs to have her in every essence. Emma can be described as someone who had a two personality life. During the day, she became the shy librarian that everyone seems to respect. But at night, she became the seductress that made every man kneel at her feet, though she does not know the kind of will power she possess with her beauty. To her eyes, Gavin is the saint that no one can seem to touch, not even his brothers can decipher him.

Knowing of Gavin’s past, Emma runs to the other brother that makes his world just thinking about Emma. This is not a menage a trois story that will have you undecided on who the female character will pick. This is a story that has confrontation and compassion towards one human being to another, something that Kendall Ryan does an incredible job at describing. It is no news that there is a cliffhanger in this book because the second book has a description on what is to come, and honestly? I am TOO anxious to find out what happens! Kendall Ryan has done yet again a marvelous job at bringing back the angst in romance we have all been looking for!

Someone needs to give me a swift kick in the butt because I have a few of Kendall Ryan’s book on my TBR, but have not read her until now.

OMG, what the hell have I been missing!?!?

Dirty Little Lies is stunning!! Emma Bell has been watching Gavin Kingsley walk into the coffee shop every morning at 7:50am before he goes off into the corporate world for months! A stunning, mysterious man that looks that astounding in a suit and seems to be so very in control of his life.

For a few seconds a day, Emma fantasizes about Gavin’s life and her being a part of it. But when Gavin leaves behind a business card for Emma, she steps up and takes a chance and contacts Gavin’s company, not having ANY idea what she is in for….

Gavin and Cooper Kingsley.

And they BOTH want Emma.

Kendall Ryan has started what has become my new obsession...the story of Gavin and Cooper. I loved the story between the three characters, especially the fact Emma is drawn to both men for different reasons. But when Emma finally settles for one of the brothers, an unexpected turn of events has her doubting whether or not she made the right choice.

Dirty Little Secret had me utterly captivated from page one and I did not put the book down until I was completely finished. I loved all the twists and turns and those sex scenes are undeniably HOT. I am completely in love with Kendall Ryan’s writing and I cannot wait to see how this story plays out!

If you love hot and sexy with a mix of angst then this book is for you. Holy hotness. Just watching the relationships develop between Emma and Gavin...Emma and Cooper is something else. I seriously wouldn't know which one to choose. Emma of course is drawn to all Alpha dominate. And wowza watch out for the exploding panties that may come with this one. I love the air of mystery that surrounds Gavin. This is an amazing read. I can't wait to see where Kendall Ryan takes..Gavin, Emma and Cooper in the next book. I have a feeling we're in one heck of a ride with this series. One that I am all prepared to take and can't wait.

For a while, Kendall Ryan has been releasing stand-alone stories with a HEA at the end of each book. This is a welcome return by her to the genre of romance in which the first book ends with a cliffhanger. She's great at both types of story, and this is no exception.

This is the love story of Emma and Gavin, and Cooper. No, there's no three-way here, at least not in the bedroom, but it's a nice complex story. Gavin and Cooper are brothers, and they (along with a third brother Quinn) run Forbidden Desires a high-end escort service. I believe over the course of a series of books we'll see all three brothers stories. Emma comes to be employed by this agency in an arrangement with Cooper and Gavin, and so this becomes a three-perspective story in which we see Emma and the brothers struggle with their relationships to each other.

This is Ryan at her best. We get struggles through which we see the emotional depth of the characters are worked. We get heated scenes that are sexy but also meaningful. We get progressive insight into the backgrounds of the characters that have made them who they are.

If I had one complaint it might be the cliffhanger itself. I couldn't get as excited about it as I wanted to. Not quite sure that I view it as enough of a problem, so either I'm missing something or something wasn't there.

Dirty Little Secret seemed quite a bit different from the others I've read by this author, but I liked it. As it started, I thought it might be outside of my comfort zone, but it didn't ever go there.

I really liked the three Kingsley brothers, Gavin, Cooper, and Quinn. They own a unique business together. Emma, a librarian who has seen Gavin daily over the past year at the coffee shop they both frequent. is the main female character. She is attracted to Gavin and picks up a business card he leaves in the coffee shop one day. She daringly visits his business, and could never have guessed what would follow.

The three brothers, especially Gavin, are rather mysterious and intriguing. Gavin has some issues and often comes across as rather severe. Cooper is a friendly, sweet guy, and while Guinn seems like a good guy, he wasn't in the book nearly as much as his brothers. Emma was a feisty, sweet heroine, although definitely a little confused over the brothers.

I enjoyed the storyline, and was left wondering what will happen next. I'm looking forward to seeing all of these characters again.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a copy of the book in return for an honest review.

Fresh off the Roommates books, Kendall Ryan changes pace to another more erotic series. We meet all of our Heroes in the first of these, called Forbidden Desires.

In this first installment, part one of two with Gavin, Connor and Emma, is left on a cliffhanger. There is no threesome action, simply a love triangle.

The Kingsley brothers - Gavin, Connor, and their other brother Tristan - run an escort agency. It's completely legitimate. On their end, there is no sex for money exchange, although what happens once their clients and escorts get behind closed doors is their business.

Gavin and Emma are the first to meet, and when she learns about the brothers' business, she's offered a proposal from Gavin and his younger brother Connor. After some convincing, she takes them up on their offer, and learns that the brothers couldn't be more different. There's appeal on both sides - and she has to keep her wits about her if she wants to end up with her heart intact.

Secrets & lies - trust given and taken away, what path will Emma choose? Will Connor step up? How will Gavin react to Emma's upcoming confrontation? (which I'm sure will be front and center in book 2) We'll find out in October, 2017.

I don't know about you, but I'm already salivating for more!

Five "coffee shop non-tip" stars!

This book is steamy hot and I will say that I am completely addicted to this series already.

These Kingsley men have my panties twisted in knots. Just stick a fork in me I'm done.

This book is definitely erotically seductive and not oh boy it's exciting and just completely hot as sin.

Gavin Kingsley fuck me sideways. He's broody a bit cold and at times has the personality of a fly. One that is annoying and you just want to swat him to death. But he is soooo intense and that intensity had my lady canal at defcon 1 or is it defcon five either way you get the point. Dude is seriously hot and sinful and just oh my fuck.

Then there's Cooper who's sweet, seems somewhat carefree and fun and just easy to be around.

And oh that ending !!!!!! Holy shit that ending I live for endings that have me dying and begging for more. This one had me shouting and screaming no no no no but I'm such a good way. I can't wait for the next book.

This is an instant five star read don't hesitate just one click now recommendation.

Crazy hot and intense but yet had some tender moments between the characters that will have you craving more.

Dirty Little Secret is the first novel in the Forbidden Desires series. Huge warning to all those that hate Cliffhangers. This book ends with a major one.

I absolutely adored this story line. Dirty Little Secret captured my attention from the very first page.

Emma (who is the lead female), is a mousey Librarian. She just got out of a disastrously abusive relationship. She doesn't want anything to do with men that is until she finds herself enamored by a mysterious man at the coffee shop. Day after day she goes to that coffee shop just to get a glimpse of him.

Gavin is a rough around the edges, balls to the wall kind of man. I loved the hell out of Gavin!!! Throughout this novel we get glimpses of a mysterious tragic occurrence that takes place and pieces together the puzzle of why Gavin is so closed off. Gavin doesn't want anything to do with relationships. He lives his life buried in his work and uses one night stands to pass the time. That is until he sets his eyes on Emma. He's completely drawn to her.

Cooper is not only a sweetheart but also a master manipulator. He's spent years watching his brother build concrete walls around his heart. He's shocked to find when Emma steps into the office his brother shows a sign of interest. Cooper devises a plan to get Gavin to step up and fight for what he wants. Along the way though Cooper finds the roles between brothers are about to switch when his heart gets in the way. The world needs more men like Cooper Kingsley!

I loved the hell out of the Kingsley Brothers.

Dirty Little Secret was nothing short of pure brilliance. I could not put this novel down to save my life. I was entranced by the story line and addicted to the characters.

That ending though.......that was not a nice way to end Dirty Little Secret! I am dying to know what exactly happens next. This story line can go several different ways! I CAN'T WAIT!!

I highly recommend Dirty Little Secret!

It's no secret that Kendall Ryan can get down and dirty with the best of them. Her talent shines through in every tale she pens, however there is also a sweetness to the naughtiness that keeps me thirsting for more. Dirty Little Secret is more than just a sexy romp, it touches on some hard subjects. Like obsession, fantasy and opening up to love. There's an edge of intensity that tends to overshadow the romance but the emotions add to the mystique of Emma and Gavin's relationship. Ultimately, Ms. Ryan tempts readers into continuing the journey in the future with this alluring duo. A wonderful start to an intriguing series.

As a note, a review copy of this novel was provided on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not effect my opinion in any way. Thank you!

"You're going to make me scream in the library."

I'll let your imaginations go wild with that one simple line from Dirty Little Secret, the beginning of Kendall Ryan's all-new series Forbidden Desires. In all honesty, I'm clawing my way towards the sequel already because holy crap I need it now. NOW. If you were wondering, yes, Ryan's latest is full of so much desire the following might happen:

-Reader could spontaneously combust.
-Pages are likely to catch fire.
-Cold showers are the new cuddle-fest.
-Proceed to anticipate the next release with your favourite comfort food.
-Pine over the follow-up.

I mean. Phew. PHEW! Can I use the fire emoji for a sufficient review or is that not how this works? I'm kidding. Mostly. I really do see only fire when I think of this bloody book and that's, well, as swoon worthy as it is infuriating. I love it. Kendall Ryan, you outdid yourself with this book. I can't stress that enough. You just reignited my interest in the genre and I'm pretty much in love with Emma and Cooper. And Emma and Gavin.

Where's my own Cooper? That's such an unusual question for me to ask since I never ask 'oh my God, where's my [fictional character's name]?' ever. At least, not since I was a preteen and just read Gossip Girl for the first time and totally wanted a Nate Archibald. But sincerely--where's my own Cooper? I nearly fainted over how attentive he was and how much he cares about his brother and Emma. AND WHEN HE CALLS HER PRINCESS?

Sorry. I'm a little emotional. Yikes.

Emma was, naturally, my favourite character in this bad boy. I think she's one of the most coherently developed leading ladies I've read in ages (since, perhaps, the Addicted and Calloway Sisters novels by the Queens: Krista and Becca Ritchie) and I kind of want to cuddle her? All you have to do is say "librarian" and I'm probably stumbling through the door already. She's smart as hell, hot as hell, has a heartbreaking backstory that packs an emotional punch, and has some serious backbone.

In short, she's developed beautifully. Which isn't necessary missing from the genre, it just so happens that Kendall Ryan develops her characters in the way that literature is meant to--they're flawed, we get to know them, their complexities and their desires in real time.

Which goes to say the same for Gavin.

Ah. I have a love-hate for him? He's such a prickly little dweeb. I can't believe I just called Gavin a dweeb, yikes. However, that's the first title that came to mind with him. I'm not sorry. At all. Gavin is a bit (see: a lot) of an Alpha Male. He has a lot of dimensions to him like all good characters should, even as they border on that gray area of, "Should I like them?" What makes this work with Gavin is that in all his wrongs, we see something at his core that is more than a mystery and definitely real. I like the glimpses of his lighter side that we saw, and the layers to his backstory, and think that he has the potential to be developed even more in depth.

In Kendall Ryan we trust.

There's this undeniable chemistry between him and Emma; this is where the novels soul is. Dirty Little Secret's biggest energy source is in the characters, their backstories and their sexual chemistry. Best of all, not a single plot-line overpowers another element of the story. It's all balanced in a way but still leaves you dangling.

I'd love to know more about Emma's life in the future installments. Obviously. More on her past with an abuser, more on her friendships and job. I'd like to know more about Gavin, Cooper and Quinn. I think the Kingsley brothers are going to be the death of me and are my newest obsession.

Overall, definitely my favourite romance of the year! I'm panting (yikes) over NEEDING the sequel and this entire series right the heck now. I can't believe I said heck and how all over the place my review is. I'm just kind of a pile of mush over this beauty and I'm still processing THAT cliffhanger of an ending. Yes, Kendall Ryan is now one of those rare authors who may as well just have direct access to my bank account when it comes to new releases. Agreed?

All I can say is that Kendall Ryan has left me steamed, a little confused (the good kind) and I've lost five pounds since closing it because I'm pretty sure those five pounds have melted off into a puddle at my feet.

You think I'm kidding? I'm not. Dirty Little Secret did that. It successfully went where a great many romance/erotica novels stumble. This was, without a doubt, one of my favourite new romances for the year and one of the smartest, steamiest. If you can only take one sentence from my review, it's that this is my favourite. Also... buy it. Romance fans will adore every last minute of this gem.
