Description
Big-Hearted Charlie Runs the Mile begins with the display of a fun-loving, spirited boy named Charlie who has an intense passion for running. He returns home from school one day, pleading with his mother to join the local track team. She was apprehensive at first, fully aware of the hard work and diligence necessary to make such a commitment. But she obliged, as Charlie assured her his big heart would see him through. He practiced tirelessly each day and followed the advice of his coaches without fail. Before long, he was prepared for his first race. Upon arrival to the track meet, Charlie took notice of how much bigger each runner appeared on the opposing teams. Despite being of smaller stature, he didn’t let his physical limitations impede on his mental state and proved to become an inspiration not only to spectators present that day, but to everyone he encountered throughout his adult life.
