Description

Exchange the lies of hurtful labels and wrong thinking for the truth of who God created you to be!

From an early age Alex Seeley was told she was an accident, but she also carried the weight of feeling stupid. Labels like these, sometimes spoken over us by well-meaning people, can cause us to believe lies about ourselves that make us question why we were born and what our purpose on earth could be. Yet, according to Psalm 139, God designed us in His image with a unique DNA and amazing characteristics! We are loved and created for a purpose that only we can fulfill.

In Tailor Made, Alex helps us recognize our wrong thinking often brought on by generational patterns, insecurities, circumstances, lack of forgiveness, and an inaccurate view of God our Father, and offers to replace them with a new view of who God says we are our personal destiny. It’s time to find your own sense of belonging and the path to becoming the original, authentic version of you that God intended!

If you were wondering why God made you, what you were made for, and what is your purpose, this is the book for you!
Alex, the author, shares her own life story about being the unwanted fourth child in her family. Her mother had only wanted 2 children, but she gave birth to David, and almost lost her life because of it and a few years later she gave birth to Alex, an 8 pound baby girl. Alex was called “la cretina” which means “idiotic or moronic” by her mother as a child when she did or said something stupid or forgetful. This treatment caused Alex to have a poor self image of herself and she did not think she was as good as other people.
Alex learned about God’s love for her, that He loved her before she was born, and that nothing can ever stop God’s love. “Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38–39).
Alex discusses how she felt like she did not fit into her the “Australian” mode because she had dark curly hair and dark eyes and she lived in a world of blonde blue eyed girls. She tried to look and act like the other girls because she wanted to belong.
Alex continued to feel badly about herself, and she tried to act like other people wanted her to act and to please them instead of being her “real self.” One day the Holy Spirit prompted her to watch a DVD by Louie Giglio, the founder of Passion City Church. Alex began to realize how powerful God was, that He is so glorious and she realized how she had allowed her circumstances and the Enemies voice to dictate her thinking.
Alex felt a healing in her heart and knew that if she was good enough for God then she could be who she wanted to be, eat what she liked and she also allowed God’s voice to be the loudest one she heard.
You will have to read the rest of the book to find out if Alex went back to being her childhood self or if she became someone else!
