I received a copy of this book from NetGalley for a honest review.

3 1/2 stars

The Arrangement by was an interesting story it starts off with Ashlyn having to get married in order to receive her inheritances and Deacon who knew her father convinces her to marry him because he needs a wife. So the beginning was great with banter back forth, dual POV and push/pulling which created some great tension, then the middle was not what I expected and the end was good. I like both character's but I didn't really connect with them as much as I wanted to, I also felt the transition between chapters was not as smooth as it could have been. Overall enjoyable story, it did have a bit of a fan fiction feel to it but I was happy to read it.

Great book. I thought it was going to be quite a straightforward romance, but a really good twist took the story deeper and it was very enjoyable. Loved it.

Ashlyn needs a husband - not for love, just to meet the terms of her father's will.

When Deacon offers to marry her, it is not clear what he is set to gain from the arrangement.

Even though neither of them intend to, they can't help falling for each other, despite the fact the contact is only for a year and they they can divorce and go their separate ways - if they want to!

Looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

Jennifer Lewis's The Arrangement (Book #1 Marriage of Convenience Series) is one to add to your beach to read list/bag ladies. This was my first experience reading any of Ms. Lewis's work, and I can't wait to see where this series goes. The characters are well developed, enjoyed the back and forth and the plot was engaging, still can't figure out WHY Ashlyn's father stipulated her being married to receive her inheritance. I'd like to thank NetGalley for a copy of The Arrangement is exchange for an honest review.

Good story. Well written, believable with a bit of a twist and some excitement you don't expect. The book is a good clean romance that everyone would love, without the craziness of course.

A sweet romance
Quite enjoyable. As it was a proof copy I had trouble reading it in places eg when different speakers spoke. Or perhaps it was the formatting. A little frustrating but still a great story and well written. I really liked both characters and loved the little twist about his past. An Enjoyable quick read

Great read, there was a lot going on in this book it was all over the place. Ashlyn had the shock of her life when her father died by reading the will. She had 2 months to get married. This isn't in her plan. She makes an arrangement marriage for one year. Will they make it ?

I love the marriage of convenience story line. Two strangers or almost strangers coming together in marriage for everything except love… and discovering that not every relationship that lasts starts out the same way. The Arrangement is one of those stories. Ashlyn has several shocks delivered in quick shots, the next worse than the one before.. Her father’s death. And his will that clearly states that if she does not marry within two months… two months!.. she loses her inheritance, her home and to make it even worse her mother gets the boot with no inheritance as well. What in the world was Daddy thinking?

Fortunately for Ashlyn, Deacon needs a wife, like yesterday. These two might make a real marriage out of this “convenience”… if they don’t destroy each other first. The sexual tensions run high, they really do fit together well in spite of how they got married, but can they get past their stubbornness and belief that nothing lasts forever. I had fun with The Arrangement, and I’ll let you discover just how this couple finds their way from convenience to a happy ever after ending.

If you’re in the mood for a fun, sexy, intriguing romantic romp then you’ll have fun with The Arrangement. There is nothing logical about falling in love, and Ashlyn and Deacon are about to discover that little fact. I’m going to head on over to Amazon and pick up The Proposal, can’t wait to get started on that one.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I've really enjoyed this book. I believe the story is strong, the editing was not so much. Ashton and Deacon was such complex characters. The internal and physical struggles were wonderfully written, and the building of the relationship was strong. There are solid secondary characters that really round out the story. If the proofing had been better, it would definitely have been a 5 star book.

This book is so different from what I thought it would be after reading the vignette.

It is a romance (at times steamy), but it is also a mystery, and full of humor and action. Kind of like real life, I guess.

Apparently, it really drew me in, because I found myself audibly giving the characters advice or admonishment.

What I enjoyed most was the playful banter between the couple and between Ashlyn and her best friend. I also really respect how the author put in bits about what really matters in life; this billionaire can buy anything he wants, but if his wife is killed, what does he really have left?

I would recommend this to adult readers. (There are scenes of sex and of violence). Happily, there was no swearing, which I fine just gets in the way of the story, with very rare exception.

Ashlyn is a phycology student whose dad recently passed and left a stipulation in his will that would affect not only her but her mother as well.

Deacon is essentially a stranger offering her a solution to her fathers will, but he’s also got his own benefit to the arrangement.

Both are raised from money, both want to make their own impact in the world, and both have a parent that they have struggles with.

Other then instant attraction these two couldn’t stand each other, but their marriage of convienience was going through anyways.

I liked this book, it was a cute exploration of not expecting to fall and so quickly, always expecting that love was off the table cause you had planned it as such- but really plans never go accordingly. It’s got some steamy scenes, some character development and some drama, plus a splash of suspense.

At times it felt very formal and stiff between Deacon and Ashlyn- which I’m glad didn’t last once they gave into their attraction.

I still have questions so I hope there is a follow up or a book 2 to create a series- What was Martina’s story? Do the hint of sparks between Benton and Andrea pan out? What about Emme or Alex? Or even the introduction of Ryan- were there hints about their stories? I also wished for an epilogue- does Ashlyn finish her degree? More about their baby? It would have been nice to see something like a Christmas scene a few years later of this new family.

How did her mother feel about Ashlyn’s kidnaping?

Definitely would read this author again.

I found the book to be very charming and the plot although typical of many books, is very engaging as the couple find true love amongst difficulties. I would recommend this title.

Loved it!! A marriage of convenience slowly becoming a real marriage. Ashlyn found out when her father's will was read that she had to marry in two months or she and her mother would be left with nothing. When Deacon proposed a marriage of convenience, she was attracted to him but had huge misgivings. She didn't really believe in love, mostly because of her parents relationship. This book had relationship issues, excitement, drama, friendship, and love. Again a good read

I just finished The Arrangement. It was such a wonderful book. I give it 5 stars. Great read. It's about two people who need to be married to inherit & a man who needs to be married to get his son from Africa.. The mother is a drug addict. They signed a contract for one year. They were very attracted to one another and compatible. Things changed after they married and were expecting a baby. Kidnapping, taken to Africa and saved. It's so worth the read.

This is a charming little marriage of convenience book. I enjoyed the chemistry between Deacon and Ashlyn and the plot has some unexpected twists and turns along way. It was a fun read and I look forward to checking out more Jennifer Lewis books in the future.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you believe that arranged marriages do not exist in this day and age, think again. Arranged marriages might seem medieval, even anti women’s lib, but men and women enter into arranged marriages on their free will.

That’s what happened between Ashlyn Gray and Deacon Cross. Both are rich, and both are scions of Seattle’s elite. But, they need to get married fast for their own reasons. And they have to stay married for at least a year. But, can they?

Ashlyn is all about control. Deacon is all about getting what he wants. Talk about being incompatible. Yet, though they don’t agree, there is a spark between them. They can fan it and make a basis for their relationship. Still, there are secrets that once revealed can end their budding romance, even the beginnings of a friendship.

The Arrangement is Rated T for Teens. Parental advice due to some mature themes.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought maybe it would be predictable but it was not. It was funny with unexpected twists and turns.

Ashlyn's father dies unexpectedly, His will states if she wants him to continue paying for her educations he must marry for at least a year. Deacon approaches Ashlyn about her father will. Her father had discussed it with him. Will she accept his offer?

I highly recommend reading this book.
