Description

'A darkly clever teen murder mystery [...] that succeeds in undermining everything you've come to believe and trust. S K Wright pulls off a difficult trick with apparent ease' Crime Review

If I'd told the truth, it would have been fiction.

Everyone loves Eva. Beautiful, bright, fun, generous - she's perfect.

So when her body is found in a ditch in the local woods the only thing anyone wants to know is: Who could have done this?

It has to be Luke, her boyfriend. He has the motive, the means, the opportunity and he's no stranger to the police.

Even though the picture is incomplete, the pieces fit. But as time passes, stories change.

Who could have done this? You decide.

It Ends With You is clever and compulsive. It challenges preconceptions, makes you second-guess yourself with each chapter, and it holds an uncomfortable mirror up to the way societies and systems treat outsiders.

IT ENDS WITH YOU is a debut novel by S.K. Wright. It is a YA mystery/thriller that centres on a young girl's disappearance and subsequent murder. The community is quick to assume her boyfriend is responsible, but things aren't what they seem. Wright has done a brilliant job of writing a story full of twists and turns so that by the end of the story, I still wasn't 100% sure who actually murdered Eva.
The novel explores issues of class and acceptance, not only in a high school environment, but also within the wider community.

The story is written really well, and was easy to binge read. I read the whole story in one sitting because I just needed to know what happened and who the murder was. I actually really liked that the author left the ending somewhat ambiguous, rather than a clean ending with the murder being in prison.

I'm trying to keep this spoiler free so I'm not going to say more than that but if you're looking for an addictive and twisty YA mystery/thriller, give this one a go! I'm off to preorder a physical copy on Booktopia!

The evidence all points to one person, but the suspect list continues to grow as the events start to unfold.

This story grabbed me and pulled me in, I needed to know what happened to Eva, I could have read this in one sitting.

Seeing different sides from all characters really made this story, I felt the ending was really rushed considering the lead up to it.

I will be recommending this book to others and hope to select it for book club when it's my turn.

Many thanks for the acceptance to read this wonderful book.

Everyone loves Eva. Beautiful, bright, fun, generous - she's perfect. She is the girl everyone wants to be best friends with. When she goes missing and her body is found a couple of days later in a ditch in the forest there is only one thing everyone wants to know: who did it?

All fingers point to Luke, the slightly obsessed boyfriend. All the evidence points to him as well. But is everything as clearly laid out as it seems?

I absolutely loved this book. While I found the start a little bit slow, once they found her body and started to pin the crime on Luke I was hooked. It is very cleverly written, told from six different perspectives throughout the book, give you a different side of the story each with each new chapter.

I had my guesses about who killed Eva, and it wasn't the person that ended up behind bars. I also wasn't given answers about the character I suspected...which has left me hanging a little bit.

But ok, can we talk about the last chapter too? Because OMG!!!!! HOW CAN YOU END IT LIKE THAT AND LEAVE ME HANGING!! I NEED ANSWERS!!! Following another character revealing something and then fobbing it off as a 'joke' I have completely questioned everything that I thought I knew from this book. SEQUEL PLEASE!
