About the Author:


Ashley Ellington Brown is an award-winning author who grew up in New Orleans and graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Foreign Affairs (which she did not use, although she had a lot of fun getting it). She worked as an advertising copywriter and account executive, book editor, and employee communications manager for the world’s third-largest death care firm before becoming a freelance writer in 2000. She also authors the blog Joy Detectives.  Her writing has appeared on The Daily Positive and in the anthologySong of Ourself: Voices in Unison.

Her own morning ritual inspired her to write A Beautiful Morning in order to share this powerful tool with others. Ashley lives in Florida with her husband and son and their rescued beagle, Snoopy.

The advice and tips are practical and wonderful, and I plan to put them in to practice in my own life.I also loved the personal stories, which helped me create new healthy mind and body daily habits. If you are someone who is stressed out or just needs some organization and clarity to your life, this book is definitely for you!

Excellent resource with lots of ideas about creating a morning ritual. Many interesting and inspiring accounts of working out a way to start the day that ensures you focus on the things that matter during that day. Will definitely come back to it in the future as needs change too. Really enjoyed it.

Ashley Ellington Brown wrote a wonderful book on morning rituals that remind us all to slow down and take time for ourself......and it all begins on how we start our day. She interviewed 20 women she admires and asked them to describe their morning ritual. Even though we learn many different techniques, she reminds us to focus on what works for you and feeds your soul. Somethings a morning ritual practice can provide is a calming path to happiness, better focus, improved relationships, clarity, and more joy. She collects the wonderful suggestions of resources the 20 women gave in an index in the back of the book such as recommended reading, poetry, meditations, websites, and apps. This a great book that you can pick up and read many times for inspiration when things can get a little overwhelming and you need a reminder to slow down and feed your soul each morning before you can feed others.

A Beautiful Morning is a great self-help book dealing with morning rituals. She reminds us that we need to slow down and take some time for ourselves before the busy day ahead. Ashley interviews other women to see how they spend their mornings. I love getting ideas and knowing that not every persons morning ritual is going to be the same.
