As a troubled teenager, Tamara Laroux just wants the pain to go away. Crying out to God for forgiveness, she makes the heart-wrenching decision to end her life. As she plummets from her body to a place of vast darkness, torment, and agony, Tamara instantly realizes the finality of her rash decision and begs God to save her.

A Second Chance at Heaven is a remarkable memoir of the afterlife that will challenge each of us to ponder the reality of heaven and hell. Her supernatural experience to hell and back convinces Tamara that the only knowledge that matters in this life is that Jesus is real.

Tamara begins her story by telling us about her background as a child of divorced parents living in West Texas and in her sophomore year of high school. She tells us that she loved her mother and stepfather and that she went through a school day going to classes and then going home, praying for God to forgive her, getting a .38 revolver, going to the bathroom, hearing a voice telling her to point the gun at her heart and remembering that she pointed the gun to her heart and it went off!
Then she tells us about her relationships with her Syrian father who was too busy for her, a stepmother who resented her, and how feeling of rejection and unworthiness started to gain a foothold in her mind and her opinion of herself.
You are then taken on a dizzying and scary journey into Hell, in which every molecule of her body was tortured by acid which burned like fire, while knowing she was terrifyingly alone even as she was surrounded by countless agonized souls!
You will have to read the book for yourself to find out what Hell is really like, and Heaven, how Tamara left this place in order to write this book.

An amazing book, that will make sceptics question their beliefs and believers strenghten their faith. The story of the writers experiences are so compelling, and this book is utterly readable.. Highly recommended.

What do you think hell is like?
You might think like me, that Hell is a place of fire,
like the inside of a hot furnace…
But it is much worse than that!
Reading the book, “A Second Chance at Heaven”, was gripping.
I could not put it down.
Author Tamara Laroux tells us the truth about what happened to her…
after she attempted to kill herself.
She went to Hell, which she describes vividly!
BUT…
she prayed to God to send someone to tell people what Hell is like,
so no one else would be sent to Hell. It was too awful!
God answered her prayer!
He sent Tamara to tell us about Hell.
God gave her a second chance.
This book teaches us about Hell, about God, and about second chances.

What an amazing story. I did enjoy this book but found it might have been better if it were a bit more fast-paced. I think that the author is to be commended for having the courage to tell her story, as I am sure many people do not believe her and are ridiculing her for such a fantastic tale.
Those interested in heaven, hell, and the afterlife will like this book.
I received a digital version of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions expressed are my own.
