The Geeky Chef Drinks

I absolutely love this! I love the ideas and photos of drinks from my favorite shows and movies and video games, and they all look delicious. I am not sure the cover is as appealing as it could be, and may have stopped me from opening the book altogether if I saw it at a retailer.

I love this book. It’s whimsical and magical and would be great for a party to make your cocktails more exciting. I especially love the tips on how to decorate your glasses and drinks and how to create dry ice etc. This book is so much fun and I love the link ins with the tv shows. I can’t wait to throw a party now.

I am always excited to see a Geeky Chef cookbook! So I immediately requested The Geeky Chef Drinks. This book contains adult cocktails (and some virgin recipes) to make drinks feature of inspired from your favorite fandom. of course, there are the typical nerdy fandoms one might imagine: including Star Wars and Final Fantasy. The book branches further into fandom including the It's Always Sunny in Philadephia Fight Milk and Archer's favorite drinks.
The book details the tools you need as well as how-tos on basic simple syrups. Each drink is featured in full color in its nerdy glory. The instructions are easy to follow making this a great book to plan my next party!

I've said previously that I am the President of the Geeky Chef fanclub, and all demands that Cassandra Reeder cook for us start behind me. But now? Now we get to drink mightily in our quest to be the biggest geeks of all time. Who can ask for more?

Seriously, though, where does she go from here? Is the next step all desserts? All geeky breakfasts? New fandoms come out every day, I'd love to see some superhero related recipes. I mean, imagine what you could do with Deadpool.

The majority of these drink recipes are from video games, which are not my jam. However, the others are still incredible. From Firefly (my love) to Harry Potter and all the way to Doctor Who, almost every fandom in the world can find something here to be appreciated. There are even drinks from decidedly non-geeky fandoms, such as the movie Cocktail. The Big Lebowski. Blues Brothers. I'm incredibly impressed with the variety here.

And for those people who like their livers more than I do, she includes nonalcoholic tips and tricks, so that those who don't imbibe can enjoy a mug of Black Frost (Non Alcoholic) Beer. Bonus: You probably won't be turned into a caveman/woman after drinking it, unlike the rest of us heathens.

Liked this book a lot. The instructions are straight forward to follow even for a beginner, and it has a lot of pictures that, while are lovely to look at, aren't so overly artistic that they are discouraging to even attempt. The recipes cover a number of fandoms, subgenres and general themes and are perfect for hosting a movie marathon, games night, or very informal book group.

I do think, however, the jewel in the crown of Reeder's collection is the section on special effects, which is very helpful if you've ever wondered how to make flaming drinks or work with dry ice.

Cassandra Reeder has put together a very geeky cocktail book. I'd love to try all of them, but especially the Harry Potter inspired Firewhisky and Star Trek's Bloodwine.

What a fun book of cocktails. It definitely brought out the geek in me. So many of the drinks I want to try just because I love the book or show that the drink is based on. This would make a great gift for your geeky friends too.

This was a really creative and fun book for geeks of all kinds. It includes helpful hints for those who don't usually make their own drinks and lack any bar-tending skills, There are recipes for syrup to mix, as well as tips on garnishing drinks and making the rims look amazing. For parties, or geeky kids, some of the drinks have virgin alternatives. The drinks look amazing and true to their inspiration, and while I may not have the skill or patience to make all of them, I'd like to order a lot of them. There's even a butterbeer recipe which are always popular at parties and events. Definitely check this out for fun Halloween or party drink ideas.

I liked looking through this cool book about drinks inspired by movies, TV Shows and games. Also, it was cool to have a few pages about those bartender tricks which can make your drink look extra special and I liked the photos next to each recipe. Of course drinks always tend to have lots of ingredients which you don't really have at home but still the recipes sounded cool and I'll definitely try out some.

Such a brilliant book of every geeky cocktail you could think of. They’ve even included the legendary Hitchiker’s one. Not only does the book contain the cocktails, it explains how to make the syrups and other basics required to be the Tom Cruise of the party.
Perfect for any geek this Christmas.

Cute, quirky, geeky and engaging recipe book for cocktails and other mixed drinks from the world of film, video game, books and television. Fun book with mostly straightforward mixes, and the occasional ten-or-more ingredient concoctions like the Firefly-inspired Mudders Milk and Butterbeer from the Harry Potterverse.

Fancy serving suggestions are included, to really make your fantasy drink sparkle. Great idea and most of the drinks look delicious!

I loved this book. When i saw this book and read the synopsis i had to look at it. I think it is a really amazing theme. I really enjoyed it. I really like to try some of the drinks though.

I love to cook.  It's not just something I have to do because the kids demand to be fed, it's something I do because I enjoy it.  There's nothing more satisfying - for me - than creating a meal that not only fills the bellies of those that I love, but also makes them happy.  Food is love, right?

Well, man can't live on carrots and roast beef alone.  Sometimes you want to be an adult.  Other times, you need to be a geeky adult.  

Which is where this cookbook comes into play.  

The Geeky Chef Drinks takes a culinary tour of all the potions and elixirs our sci-fi and fantasy favorites have to offer.  Giving us things like Firewhisky from Harry Potter, Bloodwine from Star Trek, and the Atomic Cocktail from Fallout.  My personal favorite, however, and the one I squealed to see was the infamous Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster from Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series.  

This cookbook is an extensive and versatile reference for all drinks geeky and fun.  In addition to hitting all of our favorite movies, shows, books and video games, it also teaches you some basics about mixology and how to liven up your presentation.  Who wouldn't want to give thier drink a magical shimmer?  

For the most part, you can use whatever brand alcohol you like, but on occasion the author does suggest a particular brand and always gives her reasonings why you should use it instead of something else.  As added bonus for me, with two teenagers in the house, there are suggestions on how to make many of these drinks without alcohol.  So, if you don't want to imbibe that night or want to share the fun with your kids, you can do so without guilt.  Or law breaking.  

I cannot believe I've missed this series of cookbooks.  If the others are half as informative, creative, and entertaining as The Geeky Chef Drinks has been, then they're sure to be winners.  I know what I'm putting on my Christmas list this year.

I was unfamiliar with this author, her blog, and her other titles before reading this book but I am definitely going to take a look now. This is a paradise for the geeky imbiber! She covers a wide array of Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Parody including Zelda, Lord of the Rings, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Star Wars, Star Trek, and Mass Effect. The layout in inviting, and the pictures are gorgeous! The recipes overall seemed to be uncomplicated and included suggestions for virgin versions as well as encouragement to tweak proportions to your own taste. There is even a recipe for a non-disgusting grenadine! Most of the drinks come with a little bit of a backstory and where the author took inspiration when formulating the mixed drink. And let it be known now that, yes, Butterbeer IS one of the included drinks. This book will be making an appearance at several upcoming parties and will be a no-brainer stocking stuffer for several family members.

This book is exactly what it says it is: a collection of geek inspired adult beverages. Inspirations came from LORD OF THE RINGS, video games, "Firefly" , HARRY POTTER, etc. A great book if you, like I, like to do themed geek out sessions (costume parties, binge watching marathons).

This cookbook pays homage to the science fiction and fantasy realm through cocktails, ones that would fit perfectly into the environments from which they are derived. The author takes the time to give readers recipes for different simple syrups and explains certain special effects that will make the finished cocktails stand out. With sections such as Otherworldly Intoxicants, Magical Elixirs, Sci-Fi Spirits, Culty Cocktails, Literary Libations, Dystopian Potions, and Comedic Concoctions, readers will be able to make drinks to fit into any themed party.

I really appreciated the tip boxes scattered throughout the book, as the author gives really good information on topics from sterilizing your simple syrup to making cocktails without the alcohol component. Many of the cocktails in The Geeky Chef Drinks are designed to be representations of drinks that are described in certain video games, books, movies, and television shows. The creativity level of this book is off the charts and it would be a great gift for fans of science fiction and fantasy. The photographs of the finished beverages jump off the pages and I liked the creativity that the author displays with the use of unusual drinking vessels. I also enjoyed the explanations that the author gives by way of inspiration for the drinks.

The cocktails that I am most interested in trying are Romulan Ale, composed of white rum, blue curaçao, lemon juice, and ginger beer, which would fit in perfectly on any Star Trek vessel.
Additionally, I would very much like to try Butterbeer, a mildly alcoholic, sweet and spicy concoction that represents the drink which exists in Harry Potter's realm. Author Cassandra Reeder has definitely done her homework, as the cocktails most certainly fit into the many worlds for which they represent. I enjoyed reading this cookbook and I would recommend The Geeky Chef Drinks to readers who are fans of science fiction and fantasy.

Reeder specifically designed The Geeky Chef Drinks to be for all skill levels, so even if you've never mixed a drink in your life, you've got a good breakdown of how to do it. She even includes instructions for how to make your drink shimmer, safely light it on fire, or make it smoke. If you've got a home bar or want to impress your geeky friends at a party, this is a fantastic place to start.

This book is fantastic for fans of science fiction and fantasy. It is packed full of drink recipes from favourites such as Harry Potter, Doctor Who and Star Trek. Complete with colourful photos, there is lots to have a go with and plenty of inspiration for your next themed party. I found it easy to come up with suitable drinks to get the party rolling.

How was I unaware that there was a Geeky Chef aka Cassandra Reeder (see her site here) creating all kinds of fun foods and, in this case, drinks based on our favorite sci-fi and fantasy series and video games as well as a couple of animated series and Brooklyn Nine-Nine (?! is that a geek show?!)? Well that oversight on my part has been remedied when I had the opportunity to read and review The Geeky Chef Drinks.

In the same way that I like to try new and unusual foods (within reason), I am also one not to be deterred by adding a little basil or a jalapeno or a rosemary infusion to a cocktail. If it doesn't kill me and I have to spit it out (surreptitiously), well, at least I tried it, and who knows, it could even be my next favorite thing.

While I was scanning through the pages, many of the cocktail recipes sounded enticing, although for some the colors are a little off-putting yet I can definitely see how they could fit into viewing parties. Need recipes for viewing upcoming shows? How about mulled wine for Game of Thrones or purple nurple for Supernatural or a sonic screwdriver and emergency protocol 417 for Doctor Who? You're covered.

And, if you're feeling nostalgic and perhaps still bitter over the cancellation of Firefly, you can indulge in a mudder's milk, which looks like a protein smoothie with an irish cream/bourbon kick.

Some of the cocktails sound very warming and appropriate for any upcoming holiday parties with the added benefit of being real conversation starters.

The author adds amusing notes about the cocktails, safety warnings if you're the type who likes to set your drink on fire (because why not? Just don't try to drink it while it's burning) and ideas for the shape of ice cubes to use. The photography is excellent, showing some of the colorful concoctions in all of their bright, sometimes radioactive, glory.

Who would like this book? If you're a fan of sci-fi, cult films (The Big Lebowski, for instance), dystopian novels like 1984, and video games like Legend of Zelda and you don't mind imbibing a cocktail, this book is for you. I think you might enjoy incorporating the cocktails in viewing parties or book club meetings, such fun! If you hate anything geeky, give it a pass. If you don't like anything more than three elements to your cocktail, give it a pass. However, if you aren't a cocktail drinker and would give it a pass because of that, in many instances, the author provides a virgin recipe.

I had read recently about a Harry Potter-themed dinner that was very successful and sounded (surprisingly) high-brow. I found the concept interesting because even having read the books, I could only think of a few things mentioned that would be suitable for eating or drinking. Here in this book though, Cassandra Reeder draws on a number of films and books to put together a collection of delicious concoctions.

In excellent news, ginger, cinnamon and citrus feature prominently in the recipes. I particularly loved the recipe for Butterbeer, but the Mint Patty from Archer takes the prize for top drink for me! I have never seen Archer, but this version of a wicked hot chocolate (spiked with Peppermint Schnapps and Creme de Cacao) is so tasty!

As a UK reader, I also love that the recipes include both imperial and metric measurements.

Highly recommended for any fans of fantasy/sci-fi who fancy brewing up a few tipples from their favourite shows/books.

Cassandra Reeder’s The Geeky Chef Drinks is a great collection of cocktail recipes which are inspired by popular sci-fi and fantasy worlds like Star Trek, Star Wars, and World of Warcraft. While many of the recipes are unique and feature helpful tips to make them non-alcoholic, some of the drinks have specialty ingredients that are difficult to get.

I really like that the book features recipes from diverse popular media like books (Harry Potter, The Lord of The Rings), TV series (Supernatural, Firefly), and games (World of Warcraft). There’s a helpful section on making homemade simple syrups. There’s also an interesting section on special effects to liven up your drinks. You can give your glasses candy rims, make your drinks beautifully shimmery, and there are even instructions for creating fire and mist effects.

The recipes are detailed and easy-to-follow. I cannot wait to try Reeder’s version of Butterbeer or the gorgeous Tatooine Sunset. However, some of the recipes feature ingredients that only dedicated mixologists may have. I enjoyed the brief descriptions at the beginning of each drink which helpfully tells me how the finished product should taste. I really like Reeder’s entertaining writing style which helps to make this book more interesting and memorable. I also like that many of the recipes feature tips to make them non-alcoholic.

The book includes lots of full-colour pictures of the finished drinks. These pictures are simple but effective, subtly showcasing items which reflect the media they are inspired by. But, some of the pictures are a bit generic and I couldn’t immediately tell where the drinks are from. I also wish that the book’s layout had been more exciting because I think the quirky recipes would have been nicely elevated by a more vibrant and fun design.

The Geeky Chef Drinks is a fun cocktail collection featuring recipes from a wide range of popular media. It would make a great gift for sci-fi and fantasy lovers or the dedicated mixologist in your life. I like this book and would definitely check out more of Cassandra Reeder’s themed cookbooks!

I love this book! It's super cute and nerdy, and I will definitely try some of the recipes out. There are also some tips on how to add cool effects to the drinks. The pictures look amazing and the instructions are funny and easy to follow.

From Skyrim's Velvet LeChance to Archer's Peppermint Patty... Quirky (and delicious) Interpreted drink recipes from our favourite videos games, books, movies and more.

Every year I plan two girlfriend gatherings at my house. The first in June has a welcome back summer theme and the second in November revolves around spending some quality time together before the holiday madness begins. I read a great book, Drink Me in the spring and planned my get together around its Alice in Wonderland themed cocktails. I wanted to come up with a different idea for my fall party, and The Geeky Chef Drinks provided me with so many great ideas.
We all want what we eat and drink to taste delicious, but our visual perceptions are important too. Who wouldn't enjoy being served a drink like the Noble Pursuit, inspired by The Legend of Zelda(which can be made with rum and gin or there is a non-alcoholic version). This drink has a Mist Effect made with dry ice and it looked and tasted so good! My other favorite was the Moloko Plus(vanilla vodka, white rum, and a flaming citrus peel). I am adding two more, the Sulfuron Slammer inspired by World of Warcraft, and the Atomic Cocktail and I now have my Fire and Ice cocktail theme nailed!
These are the type of cocktails I would order at a bar or restaurant just for the visual effects. The four I named only scratch the surface as there are so many other choices. There are sections of cocktail recipes in Otherworldly Intoxicants, Magical Elixirs, Sci-Fi Spirits, Culty Cocktails, Literary Cocktails, Dystopian Potions, and Comedic Concoctions(hello Flanders' Flaming Punch inspired by the Simpsons, you are next on my list). I plan to work my way through many more of these cocktails as winter approaches and my partner and I like to spend Friday night in front of the fire with an adult beverage. Beautiful photos and easy to follow recipes combine to make a fun book that I can refer to again and again.
The author has also written The Geeky Chef Cookbook and I am excited to get a copy so I can combine some 'Geeky' food and cocktails. I may never offer anyone a glass or red or white again! 5 shiny stars.

This is a very quirky and amusing little cocktail book. As the name suggests, it is created by the Geeky Chef, and all the drinks herein are either inspired by or come straight out of various video games, sci-fi films, books and comedies.

Some of these drinks do actually sound really nice, and there is a good section at the beginning full of pointers and instructions on garnishes and a few basic techniques. Overall this isn't a book for mixing experts, and anyone can easily have a bash at making these.

I think I enjoyed this book mostly for the descriptions of where the ideas came from. The writing is funny and entertaining, and if you have played the game/seen the film/got the T-shirt, you'll get a kick out of these drink ideas.

My personal favourites are the Beer Milkshake from Red Dwarf and the Legend of Zelda inspired cocktails because this is my absolute favourite video game series ever. EVER. Yes, I am a geek, so this book was perfect for me because I also love cocktails.

This book is really fun, and I recommend it to anyone with a sense of humour and a cocktail shaker.

This is a brilliant gift for the geeky person in your life. The book is full of recipes for cocktails name after and influenced by various stalwarts of geek culture such as Doctor Who, Skyrim and Zelda. All the recipes are really easy to follow and are accompanied by gorgeous vibrant pictures. The book begins by educating on the basics of how to create various flavoured sugar syrups and also effects such as mist and flames. Would definitely recommend this to all geeky and cocktail lovers.

The moment The Geeky Chef Drinks by Cassandra Reeder landed in my inbox, I knew that it was going to be a fun recipe book to explore. These concoctions are perfect while you read, watch, or play your favourite geeky series. Reeder gives not only some amazing ideas to create the drinks featured in our coveted worlds, she has also provided many cool ideas on how to add amazing special effects to them.

If you are a fan of any cult series, you will most likely find a drink for it inside The Geeky Chef Drinks. Potterheads, Whovians, and Trekkies are very well represented in this book of simple to follow recipes. If you are hosting a theme party or a bookish event, this is one book to explore. The ingredients are fairly easy to source and depending on your budget, there are multiple alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to create. Special effects, such as mist and fire, are also uncovered, so if you are interested in kicking things up a notch, you will find it here!

Collecting the tools and ingredients to make most of these recipes isn’t very difficult, however there is an initial cost to purchasing some of them. Personally, I don’t have much in the way of a well-stocked bar, but this book has inspired me to start working on it. I did create the Chateau Romani from The Legend of Zelda. It is a really yummy drink that combines ingredients, including ice cream and Irish cream. I absolutely loved this drink inspired by the vintage milk that Link drinks in Majora’s Mask.

The Geeky Chef Drinks is a staple that should be in your collection if you are a huge fan of any book, TV, or game series. It really is a jam-packed recipe book that has just about every fandom imaginable. I look forward to mixing up some more of these interesting beverages.

Some interesting recipes, with some imaginative explanations. There’s a good few recipes that are on my list to try if I can source the ingredients.

This book is amazing! The photos, the recipes, the suggestions, everything is truly great. It is definitely everything I would expect from a geeky cocktail book. I liked that there was a humorous tone throughout the book and that there are suggested modifications for virgin versions. There are suggestions for what types of glasses and instructions on how to make many garnishes. There are so many shows and books covered in this book that I didn't expect and I was pleasantly surprised! It is definitely well-organized and well-done. I will be purchasing a copy for myself and a friend!

The Geeky Chef Drinks is a fantastic cookbook. Featuring all the geeky drinks you could think of. The recipes are amazing and the pictures that accompany them are just inspired. The setup and layout of the book makes it easy to follow and read.

The Geeky Chef Drinks is such a fun cook book! I have previously read one of Reeder’s other recipe books and fell in love with her style. I am all for celebrating geekdom by surprising people with food representations of our favourite fandoms. It’s even better that I can now pair these food recipes with fancy cocktails!

The Geeky Chef Drinks is broken up into seven main fandom categories which feature unique cocktail recipes. The sections are:

Inside each of these sections are a variety of recipes which range from ‘Mudders Milk’ from Firefly, to ‘Emergency Protocol 417’ from Doctor Who (once again reaffirming my love of Captain Jack Harkness) and the ever iconic ‘Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster’ from The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Also getting a shout out are ‘6 Gummy Bears and Some Scotch’ from Archer (which I will be making), ‘Firewhiskey’ from Harry Potter, and the classic ‘White Russian’ from The Big Lebowski.

I absolutely loved seeing some of these cocktails! I have previously made the Mass Effect 2 Serrice Ice Brandy cocktail from Reeder’s other book The Geeky Chef Cookbook, and loved that. It was even better seeing the Ryncol Cocktail from the same game featured as well! If I wasn’t so afraid of being put into a coma I would try that drink 😛

The Geeky Chef Drinks is a very unique, geeky, and fun cookbook. Most cocktails feature pictures of the drinks and I must say, they all look fabulous! I cannot wait to (responsibly, of course) drink as many of these that I can.

The cookbook itself:

Ease of Use: The recipes are easy to follow and simple. The measurements are given in both imperial and metric, so it was really easy making these drinks as I didn’t have to convert anything on my phone.

Formatting:

Recipes: The recipes are set out in an easy to read manner and feature a little blurb about each drink and it’s respective popular culture fandom. Every recipe that I tried and had an in-depth look at, was incredibly simple and easy to use.

The ingredients are listed in order of usage and the following instructions are very clear and concise on what is needed to be done.

Some of the recipes also include a ‘suggested serving vessel’ and suggested garnish’ feature. When these are included in the recipe it is usually in regards to how the drink is served in the fandom but also in the corresponding picture.

Book: After the introduction, the book includes a ‘Simple Syrups’ and ‘Special Effects’ section. In these two small parts of the book, reoccurring and simple recipes are provided so that they can be referred back to when needed. After this the individual recipes are listed and featured in seven categories. With a small acknowledgements page ending the book.

Recommendations: I would really recommend this to anyone who wants to impress others with their geekiness. As I was reading the book and making my first recipe from it, all I could think of was how fun it would be to make these for a bunch of my friends.

If you’re someone who loves fandoms, all these geeky, and likes to entertain – then this book is for you!

From simple syrups to comedic concoctions and everything else in between, the author's got it all. I was flabbergasted by the innovative ways Reeder introduced mind-boggling drinks. Even with some concoctions set afire, you'd be the toast of the town, perhaps literally.

The assorted drink colors accompanied by a myriad array of alluring glassware were all highly desirable. Comparable to food - we drink with our eyes. The recipes were thoughtfully preceded with imaginative short blurbs that connected the concoctions to movies, games and so much more. This well-written tutorial with tantalizing illustrations comes to you highly recommended.

I have to admit I love to try and recreate food or drinks from my favorite books, shows, or movies. I have tried pretty much every Harry Potter recipe out there so I was excited to give this one a whirl.

This is a fun book with some different drinks for lots of different shows (I really enjoyed the GOT drinks bc I am a big fan of that show) While I will admit I was not a fan of all the beverages and found a couple of items challenging to find, overall I really enjoyed getting to experience these drinks.

A great mix of drinks influenced by a wonderfully eclectic mix of television programs and films. This would make a fun party night addition.

If you are familiar with her previous "Geeky Chef" books, then you already know you are up for gorgeous pictures and recipes from the most popular fandoms. Her previous books had a mix of food and drinks, but this one focuses solely on alcoholic drinks. Most of the recipes offer an alternative non-alcoholic version to "virginize it" so no worries if some of your guests can't drink alcohol. Why guests? you may ask, well, these are the kind of recipes you want to share and show off, particularly to your geeky fam. Special attention is given to the appearance of each drink and for that there is a full chapter on "special effects". Some mixes look seriously out from a sci-fi movie. Imagine fire or dry ice mist coming out from your glass or a magical purple-pink drink served in a round flask.

The downside is that, unless you have a very well stocked alcohol cabinet, you probably wont have the ingredients needed and if you plan to try all or most of the recipes, by end of it you will have a nice alcohol collection. I was expecting recipes using the most popular stuff for the non -connoisseurs (plain beer, vodka, rum, tequila, etc) but many recipes have more specific ingredients like London dry gin, benedictine, cherry brandy, etc. If you find these ones as normal as tonic water, then you are all good and ready to enjoy these magical recipes!. *I read this book as an eARC*

Somehow I had never heard of The Geeky Chef before I spotted this book on Netgalley...I had no idea what I was missing!

This book of cocktail recipes is inspired by a variety of geeky books, movies, tv series, and video games. Some of my favorites include The Sonic Screwdriver (Doctor Who), Giggle Water (Fantastic Beasts), Butterbeer (Harry Potter), and Romulan Ale (Star Trek). Some of the drinks also include tips on making non-alcoholic versions, which is nice for those underaged geeks or teetotaling geeks.

This was amazing! I have to admit that at first I did not expect much from it, but after establishing the basics, we got into the crazy cocktail world inspired by geeky shows, books or games! My favourite part is that all these cocktails, as crazy as they sound, are so easy to make and they all use simple ingredients, which I really appreciate because I love simple cocktails!

I was impressed. Great pictures, great combinations, and I loved that it offered virgin alternatives!

A great book for geeky lovers of cocktails. The recipes are well thought out, and the presentation pictures are stunning. There's something for every fandom in here; I ended up sharing recipes with so many friends that were thrilled to see their favorites represented...and I can't wait to try a few of mine! Highly recommended!

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. When I saw this I just had to read it. The geeky girl in me was screaming in delight. There are nine chapters that will get you ready to make some of the drink from some of the most iconic fandoms out there. There are some from Harry Potter, Zelda, Supernatural and Doctor Who to just name a few. The recipes are fairly easy to make and the steps are all listed clearly. I love the pictures and the little details or background on the page with each drink. There is a section at the beginning of the book that will let you know anything that you will need to make any of the drinks in the book. I think this is the ideal gift for any geek out there. They would appreciate it in the best of ways.

Erstmal eine schöne Einführung, wie man sich Sirups selbst macht (zum backen, für Drinks etc), dann weiter über Effekte rund um die Drinks bis hin zu wahrlich phantastischen Rezepturen zu diversen TV Highlights. Das kommt bei jeder großen und kleinen Feier gut an. Eignet sich auch hervorragend als Geschenk.

This was such a fun book! I first noticed that the drinks were inspired by Zelda, a game I love, so I was game to read the book. While not all of the drinks were for me, many were and they were fun and easy to make. Some, however, had ingredients not easy to find where I live, but if I could find them, the recipes were easy to follow and use. The pictures were good, too. If you like shows like Game of Thrones, or games like Zelda, give this book a try. It is fun to read and the drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike) are fun to make and drink.

I have enjoyed the other Geeky Chef Cookbooks and this one did not disappoint. In this one the chef focuses on drinks inspired by games, movies and TV shows. The recipes are very imaginative and look as good as they taste. The instructions are easy to follow. I also liked that there are many virgin options so even no drinkers or children can join in the fun. This book makes a great companion to other cookbooks. Enjoy making these creative libations.
