I love these kinds of stories. I think Peggy Jaeger did a great job fleshing out the characters. Slade and Colleen felt like friends I'd totally get along well with. Their love story had a bit of everything --- fun, banter, some angst, and heat. Reading this book was entertaining and engaging. I liked it a lot!

I'm looking forward to reading more from this series. I hope Maureen's story is next!

I am a huge fan of stories that have a wedding theme. So after reading the book blurb, "Dearly Beloved" became a must read for me. This is the first book from author Peggy Jaeger's A Match Made In Heaven series, and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Colleen O'Dowd is a successful wedding planner in her small hometown of Heaven, New Hampshire. She lives with her ninety-three year-old grandmother, who is quite spunky and outspoken at times. Her two sisters live close by and they are all very close. Colleen loves her job and works very hard to create the perfect wedding for every bride that hires her. Colleen's love life finally takes a turn for the better when she meets Slade Harrington, the older brother of one of her brides. Slade is a extremely successful businessman and is footing the bill for his sister's wedding. Due to his father's six marriages, Slade does not believe in commitment.

This is both an angsty and passionate love story. The author perfectly combines drama and seduction into this fast-paced romantic read. I immediately connected with both Colleen and Slade, and I cheered them on as they discovered their feelings for one another. Colleen's grandmother is a real hoot, due to her scrappy personality. Overall, this is a nicely-written book with a happy ending that will leave a smile on your face.

Colleen O'Dowd had walked in on her fiance having sex with her assistant in their bed. In order to escape her cheating fiance', she left Manhattan. She ended up in Heaven, New Hampshire, where she had grown up. There she started her own wedding planning business. The business had become so successful and she was crazy busy. She was the busy paying attention to every detail. One of her favorite clients was Isabella Harrington. Her wedding was being paid for by her older brother, Slade. Actually, they were step siblings but were very close. Slade would do anything for Izzy.

Colleen's first meeting with Slade left her comparing him to her cheating ex. But, the more she got to know Slade and saw how gentle and tender he was with his sister, the more she became attracted to him. Even though she had been hurt, she still wanted marriage, a family and a happy ever after. Slade, on the other hand, never wanted to get married. His father was on his sixth wife. Slade's mother had died when he was 10 years old and his father had never really been emotionally invested in Slade after her death.

Slade and Colleen definitely had chemistry, off-the-charts chemistry but they were from two different worlds. He was super wealthy and incredibly handsome and was completely out of her league, but yet he looked for reasons to spend time with her. Was it her imagination or could their feelings for each other be real? Was it possible to bring their opposing worlds together?

I enjoyed reading this book. My only criticism was the descriptive sex scene. I don't particularly care for heavily descriptive scenes. I more enjoy the chemistry and behind closed doors scenes. The book was well written and I enjoyed reading about each of the characters in the book and how they interacted with one another.

I was given an arc copy of this book by NetGalley and I offer my review willingly.

I truly enjoyed this frothy, low-angst tale of romance between a hilarious, snarky wedding planner and a cool, controlled businessman. Talk about opposites attract! When these two connect, kapow. For wedding junkies, there’s lots of description of beautiful settings, food, and all manner of nuptial magic, all set in an idyllic town: Heaven, New Hampshire.
Even though Slade Harrington doesn’t believe in marriage, an understandable position considering his father’s marital track record, he wants to gift his beloved sister with the wedding of her dreams. Sparks zing between him and the mouthy wedding planner he’s hired, complicating their temporary partnership.
Smart, practical Colleen O’Dowd, age 35, still clings to hope that she’ll have a family of her own. Sexy Slade is clearly not a candidate, so why waste her time indulging in their attraction? If only he weren’t so protective, so generous, so dreamy…
It was a pure delight watching these two sympathetic characters dismantle each other’s defenses. Jaeger’s humor adds just the right spice, making the perfect literary treat for the high-stress holiday season. I loved the warmth between Colleen and her sisters, but the crown jewel of the story is their 93-year-old grandmother, a feisty Irishwoman with no compunction about flinging her opinions around like confetti. Granny Fee is an absolute hoot.
I look forward to reading more of the O’Dowd sisters’ adventures. Highly recommend!

Dearly Beloved (A Match Made in Heaven #1) by Peggy Jaeger

A delightful start to what promises to be a winning series...with a myriad of moving parts...characters and their individual stories...that the author has seamlessly woven together into a story with emotions that will surely resonate with readers. The characters are remarkably and realistically portrayed with unique personalities, the dialog is intelligent (other that the over use of trendy colloquialisms) and fast moving...and last, but certainly not least, the accurate portrayal of off the charts chemistry between an unlikely, yet compatible couple. I look forward to see what is store for the residents of Heaven.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I found it to be very entertaining. I think it was a great book to start this series with. Colleen is a wedding planner who has never been very lucky at finding love and then she meets Slade. Slade is the older brother of one of her brides. Slade really does not believe in love but he is paying the bill for his sisters wedding. Lets me just say that I loved Slade and Colleen together. This book was so much fun to read. I laughed out loud so many times and I never lost the smile on my face the whole time I was reading this book. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

A great romance story that almost wasn't one.
Colleen and Slade are from a two different worlds and their thoughts and reaction don't always mix.
There is a chemistry between them from the beginning but can't seem to make work until they start to spent time together and think this is it.
Complication arises , things are said and they say good bye. Can they resolve their differences to be together.
Good characters,emotions,story.
Enjoyed reading.

Dearly Beloved by Peggy Jaeger 12-3-18 – Five Stars

I really enjoyed this fun, at times hilarious, romance with an interesting cast of characters. You never knew what snarky wedding planner Colleen was going to say, even when she tried not too especially in the company of cool, calm and collected (mostly) Slade Harrington. She does get under his skin on occasion, which I found refreshing.
Slade and Colleen met when his sister hired Colleen to plan her wedding. They were from two different worlds. Slade is extremely wealthy and is footing the bill for his sister’s wedding. Colleen is the pay-check-to-pay-check kinda gal. When the sparks fly….Oh baby.
Scene where they are both caught in the rain and she observes how unfair it was that though he was as soaking wet as she, he dried out looking unaffected, hair and all while she was a frizzy haired mess. I can’t tell you how hard I laughed!
Then you have the 93-year-old Irish grandmother, Granny Fee, who is simply a hoot! Colleen must get her inability to keep her mouth shut from her scrappy grandmother, who has no reluctance about hurling her opinions around regardless of who is in ear-shot which creates hilarious situations.
I highly recommend Dearly Beloved and look forward to the next book in the series.

Dearly Beloved - 2 worlds collide!

This book was a fun look at 2 characters from different worlds. Colleen is a wedding planner who threw out some of the best comments (even when she tried not to!), while Slade is a wealthy man who is paying for his sister’s wedding, which is how these two meet. They are forced to spend time together, and their chemistry hits each of them! There are some true laugh-out-loud scenes I appreciated, but Granny Fee was the best!

I am looking forward to the next book in the series!

This was my first book by this author and I LOVED it! The characters were so well developed and I didn’t feel like the only thing they had in common was in the bedroom. Slade took time to really get to know Colleen and I loved how he slowly fell in love with her. It was so obvious, but not to her. Nanny was hilarious and I can’t wait to read more!

Colleen is a wedding planner and has had her bridezilla's. She is now planning a wedding for Isabella Harrington a wealthy heiress. Isabella's brother Slade is sparing no expense. He is good looking and Colleen lusts after him.
I didn't care for this book. There was too much lusting on behalf of Colleen and Slade. Very unprofessional, in my opinion. I would like to have seen more focus on the crazy brides and families along with the interactions with family members.
