WOW! Scary is not quite a strong enough adjective to describe this book. After reading, I had to convince myself that I did not know ANYONE who was capable of the things in this book. It is definitely not a book to read at home after dark when you're alone. Summer Prescott did a great job of pulling me into the story and keeping me there. A remarkably scary walk through the lives of two very different people who's worlds collided with a BANG!

A quick and perfect page-turning thriller. Not having read the prequel, I was concerned I may be missing key details in becoming engaged in The Killing Girl, but boy was I wrong. This one will have you on the edge of your seat dying (no pun intended) to find out the next psychotic moves of the alarmingly “normal” murderous tendencies of Susannah and her awkward husband,Tim, that you feel both sorry for and creeped out by at the same time. Would definitely recommend this as a great weekend read.

A superb suspense/thriller that does hook you right in!
Heading to Chicago, Susannah Eckels (the nation's most heinous female serial killer) is on the run from her most recent kill - a Sheriff's Deputy in Iowa. A Chef by trade, Susannah finds work (in exchange for food) in a food pantry where she meets the (very) clingy Devin. Devin does get her hooked up in a rent-free situation, as Susannah is strapped for cash.
Susannah cannot decide if she will kill or embrace her husband, Timothy, when she sees/finds him. Most importantly, she needs to keep away from the press and police who all are looking for her (and her collection of skin tattoos).
Timothy is a mild-mannered Funeral Home Director who has had his own share of problems. After the police find Susannah's "trophies", they find it almost unbelievable that Tim had nothing to do with (or even know about) what Susannah has been up to. This scares Tim. He sells the house for a song and moves to Key West where he becomes infatuated with Marilyn, the owner of the pie shop. Then he buys the cottage next to her place.
Things go downhill in Chicago for Susannah. Her only quest becomes to FIND TIMOTHY. She gets a tip from someone and drives to Florida.
It seems as if Timothy is not missing Susannah all that much. He has Marilyn and her daughter next door and his little kitten, Maisie. You see, Tim still is running away from the danger of his wife. Their life together was a lie that he wants to forget.
Amazing twists and suspense in this fantastic read!!! I Highly recommend!
Many thanks to the Publisher and NetGalley for a wonderful ride!

This is a fast paced book that will keep on you the edge of your seat. For those of you who don't mind graphic details, this one is for you. I requested this however these kinds of books with this type of detail is not my cup of tea. Giving five stars due to the quality of the writing.

The first page of "The Killing Girl" grabs the reader's attention with description sensory details that bring the text to life. The descriptive imagery continues throughout the artfully crafted novel, while developing the characters and the plot. The protagonist is actually likeable, despite the fact that she's a serial killer. "The Killing Girl" is a fast paced novel that hooks the reader from start to finish, leaving the reader with questions and hoping for answers after the book is finished.

I enjoyed reading this book. It had a good story to it. I liked the variety of characters in it. It is my first book read by this author. I hope to read more books by this author.

The Killing Girl hooked me in the very first paragraph, engulfing me in the world of a serial killer on the run after escaping jail.
The Killing Game alternates points of view from Savannah, the woman hungry for blood and her husband who, up until recently, had no idea he was married to a blood thirst villain.
This book was written in a way that you starting rooting for Savannah and kind of worries about Tom’s mental state.
I started The Killing Game this morning and did not want to put it down. Sadly work and kids got away but I was able to finish this amazing piece in a day!
Bravo!!

This book was great and thoroughly engrossing, but it ended so suddenly that I can’t honestly tell what my opinion is! I’d love to know what happened to the diabolical Susannah and mild-mannered and awkward Tim. The end information of the book mentioned a prequel, but no information on a sequel. This left me in such suspense that I don’t even know what to do with it! This author is definitely good and knows how to engage a reader. I just need more information!

A very interesting read. A completely different book from
My usual but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well written and gripping

The author wrote a thriller that started with a bang and just kept going! The twists kept coming, so I couldn't put it down. I cannot wait to read more from this author!

The Killing Girl is a page turning thriller about Susannah a serial killer on the hunt for her husband. Her Husband Tim, is a quiet mortician who has no idea that his wife was a serial killer and is now on the run, a fugitive from his serial killing wife who will stop at nothing to find him.
The story is told in alternating perspectives between Susannah and Tim which adds to the complexity of the plot. Susannah does not let anyone or anything stop her from finding her husband killing anyone on the way.
The characters are so multi-dimensional it is as if you are in their heads. Dare I say I was rooting for the serial killer because this book is THAT good! This psychological thriller will leave you on the edge of your seat flipping pages as fast as possible.
Many readers know Summer Prescott for her fantastic cozy mysteries. This is a psychological thriller that is so well done. It takes a very talented author to be able to cross genres and do it THIS WELL. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves thrillers and stories about serial killers. You don't want to miss this one! Trust me!!!!!

Female serial killer? Got me at that sentence. After reading a chapters or so, I realized I should have read the pre ious novel as this is sort of a sequel. So, quick change, read the first book and started The Killing Girl again. Really pleased I did it that way so that I had the backstory and enjoyed this novel so much more. Gory and great,!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of The Killing Girl.
This was a great book! Tension began building on page one. I am kind of squeamish, so a couple of the scenes were almost too much for me, but they seemed perfectly in character for a serial killer...yet I knew this going-in. This novel was an original take on what it may be like inside the mind of a psychopath. With the comforting knowledge that this was a COMPLETELY FICTIONAL tale, it was cool that the villain was such a chameleon, blending in to almost any environment undetected. I found the idea of a strong-minded female who truly feared nothing quite refreshing--even though she certainly had her flaws. (Obviously.) I will definitely read from this author again. I will check out the prequel (and assume there will be a third installment).
Thank you to NetGalley and Summer Prescott for the ARC!

If you are a fan of Chelea Cain, the female serial killer series you will love this novel! Frankly, I wasn't quite prepared for the first scene to be as graphic as it was, so just be prepared for some gruesome murders. Susanna has been captured but of course she is as smart as she is strong so killing her captor is easy, allowing her to flee for parts unknown. Mild mannered mortician husband, Tim is worried that she'll come after him so he too flees in search of anonymity. Lots of colorful quirky characters. more murders, and surprises that may take your breath away!

My Thoughts
I had never read any of Summer Prescott's books and all I could ask myself was how had I missed hearing about this author. The book opens in the thick of things with Susannah on the run (for her freedom and her life), but in the midst of figuring out what to do next, she's also determined to find her husband Tim. Chapters alternate between what Tim is doing( to avoid being found by his serial killing wife) and what Susannah is doing(to avoid being caught and to find Tim), and I have to say both characters are like a mesmerizing trainwreck that I just couldn't look away from. I don't want to give anything away but I was furiously flipping pages to find out more about Susannah and Tim and I actually didn't want Susannah to get caught (strange but true.)
Some information about the author from GoodReads: Summer Prescott is well-known in the Cozy Mystery realm, having written and published several Best-Sellers in the genre. An avid reader of Thrillers, Horror and Suspense, the author has decided to follow her passion with the debut of her Thriller, The Quiet Type, which launched in the top 50 of the Serial Killer category on Amazon. The novel has received high praise in its reviews, and Summer is considering a possible trilogy or series to continue the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Killing Girl and was intrigued to discover that there is a prior book. I am looking forward to reading it but felt this worked fine as a standalone.4.5 well deserved stars.
I received a DRC from BookBuzz.net through NetGalley.
