This was an entertaining read! I have a passion for anything to do with Greeks and this had just the right amount of humor to keep you turning the page! This would be a great book for any young readers out there. Although not factually correct it is just enough of a taster into the myths to encourage further research!

An awesome learning tool! My 4th grader actually sat down with me to read and she loved it so much I’ve got to buy her one in print!

While the images did not come through in the download, the text stood on its own. I would gladly use this book with young students to teach mythology. Engaging!

Many of my students love Greek and Roman mythology, so as a teacher, I am always looking to add more stories to my classroom library. Mashed Myths would definitely be a hit in my classroom. The humorous take on the myths would engage even the most reluctant of reader, and I love how it is formatted with a variety of facts, stories, and bonuses like Greek Hero trading cards. The reading level is lower than my grade level, but it really makes the stories accessible across the board, since the content and humor is appropriate for middle grades, I will definitely be recommending this one to students as soon as I can get a hard copy!

Mashed Myths - Greek Heroes is a great combination of storytelling and humor that brings life to Greek myths in a way that will be especially appealing to middle grades boys. They can be a tough reading audience, but I’m certain they will enjoy the illustrations, the gross humor (Hercules flinging boogers and farting harpies are certainly firsts for me) and how relatable the characters are in this retelling of stories involving six Greek heroes. The stories are divided into manageable chunks, accompanied by entertaining illustrations and supplemented with self-quizzes, hero swap cards character profiles, cartoons, fart-o-meters and more. If making a Greek myths enjoyable for middle grades boys is the goal, this book certainly delivers.

At some point in life, you'll come across some reference to a Greek myth. Maybe in school, maybe in a movie, but it will be there. However, I don't think you'll find as funny a take on them as you do in Mashed Myths.

Covering 6 popular stories from Greek mythology, the book spins them and turns them into tales full of puns and funny asides. Humorous drawings, and plenty of farts jokes are worked into the stories, too. Though the basic premise is left intact, these versions are much funnier.

The book may not help you pass a Social Studies test, unless your teacher has a good sense of humor, but I think that it is helpful for a good laugh. Even with the twists on the myths, you still get the idea, and you can research the real versions.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

MASHED MYTHS Greek Heroes by Mick Wannenmacher is a book I requested from NetGalley and the review is voluntary.
This book needs 10 stars! This is hilarious! I giggled all the way through it! I love mythology but sometimes it is had to remember who did what. In this book there is added bits to the stories but it makes the stories very memorable! Farting Harpies and an occasional booger lightens up any story but it really make it funny when it involves mythology monsters and heroes! Kids, and those that read to kids, will find this to be a favorite to read again and again! I put this in my favorite folder in Goodreads and plan to get it for my grandkids so I don't look like an old fool reading and laughing to myself! Lol!

My fifth grade son loved the book. It was very funny but he felt sometimes it was inappropriate. It had a part where people were farting on one another and ripping out their behinds in public. In our copy, we could not view the pictures. He felt it was a pretty easy read. He doesn't normally read books about Greek Heroes however, it didn't stop him from understanding the book. The book gave enough information about the subject to be enjoyable.

This book is really just plain fun. It takes the myths that originally were pretty complicated and breaks them down into fun little anecdotes that keep you entertained and ready for more. There are a lot of books out there right now on Greek mythology, but if you want something that doesn't bring in a bunch of random characters and an additional story line to follow, this is it. Unless, of course, you want the myths in their purest form, then this is not it, but you should still read it anyway.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I'm such a lover of everything mythology that when I saw the cover and the name? I had to have it!
And after reading it? Amazing!
The writting is funny, concise, and engaging! A book that I would love to read to my brothers and sisters once they are a bit more grown to get them to like myths as much as me!

I may not be in the target age range of this book, but I found it a very fun and engaging retelling of six Greek myths. The drawings were whimsical, and the stories were told with humor and even a few gross-out moments. Now, if you're expecting the characters in these stories to talk like ancient Greeks, you will be sorely disappointed. But if you keep your mind open and have an appreciation for middle-grade humor, you might find this a very enjoyable read.

A humorous twist on Greek myths that kids and adults can both enjoy. The illustrations were perfect, and I loved the quizzes/trivia included. A great way just to giggle or to get kids interested in mythology. I hope to see more books like this from this author in the future!
