Description

In David Griffith's second book in the Border Series, rodeo cowboy Lonnie Bowers grapples with his heritage.

Does he owe anything to a grandfather he doesn't want, a brother he despises, and a sister addicted to crystal meth? He'd like to walk away.

The Indian side of his heritage has never brought anything but pain, so why would he open himself up for more?

But it's not that easy, not when it's in his power to strike a blow against La Familia, Mexico's largest producer of methamphetamines.

David Griffith is a master at keeping his readers riveted to the page. The rest of the world seems to vanish every time I pick up one of his books. If you want a novel loaded with non-stop action, this is the book for you!

THE DEATH DEALERS by DAVID GRIFFITH is a really excellent read. Not only is it fast paced and exciting, there is a strong message of Christian redemption running through the story.
Lonnie, the bronco rider, is hit by the reality of the dangers of methamphetamine when he meets his sister for the first time. With a career in law enforcement, he is sent by the security company he has worked for before to go under cover in Mexico and infiltrate the most dangerous drug cartel in the country. He is loath to leave his wife Clarissa for an indefinite period, especially because they have been having problems in their marriage.
I like the way horses play a huge part in both Lonnie and Clarissa's lives. I also like the way the author describes the characters' thoughts, sometimes in quite a morbidly amusing manner!
The book gives us a great deal of food for thought as we are introduced into the dark world of "La Familia" and see the wickedness and deception of those who will stoop to anything, even cultish prayer meetings, in their lust for money and power.
There is a strong thread of hope, however, as both Lonnie and Clarissa find themselves seeking the truth.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it most definitely will not be the last. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from BooksGoSocial. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

Drugs, horses, and a chance at redemption - all can be found in this thrilling story. There's a lot of depth to Lonnie, and watching him grow throughout the story was just as interesting as the main plot. Fast-paced, this book will keep you captivated and turning pages.
