“It’s refreshing to read a children’s book that is just good, clean fun (nothing political, no underlying messages... just full of funny adventures). One of the other things that I love about this books is that, even when I think I know what’s going to happen, there’s a hilarious twist.”

This is another wonderful instalment of the adventures of Jerry the Squirrel. My children and I just loved it and I can’t wait to introduce it to my class in September. Jerry is an inventor who comes up with the best of ideas but unfortunately these experiments never work out quite exactly as he’d like with absolutely hilarious consequences. Be prepared to laugh out loud throughout. This story also made for many crazy inventions among my own children too. It’s a great read.

I may be at a disadvantage due to only learning of Jerry the Squirrel in volume two. Jerry is an inventor and a leader in his squirrel world.

I like that his inventions are a necessity of immediate need or Jerry’s pleasure. He’s creative to be sure. I was turned off when the first invention involves a long litany of butt kicking or kicking butt. I know, I know children love anything involving using the word butt and this is a book for young readers. So I shook it off and moved on with an open mind,
My husband told stories he made up to his children and now to our grandchildren. As I read it feels to me like Shawn is lying in bed with the children in their nightclothes intently listening to what is going to happen next to Jerry and in our case the characters are Zeus and Sagittarius.
I think the writing style is unique and will be completely compelling to young readers. I look forward to more of Jerry’s clever inventions and the surprising outcomes of the use of his inventions.

What fun! I have never heard of Jerry the Squirrel, but it was quite entertaining! It's the sort of story I could see my nieces reading and then reenacting through drawings and videos of their own. This was my introduction to Jerry the Squirrel and I now want to check out the first volume. Although Jerry is an inventor and the short stories all begin with him being a squirrel and an inventor, not all the stories are about him inventing something. Instead, they are the adventures of Jerry and his neighbors in the village of Erry-Ville. As you read, you start to realize that these squirrels are hardy, not always the most intelligent (although Jerry is quite intelligent), and they have very short attention spans (squirrel!). The adventures are quite imaginative, and as I implied at the beginning, I could totally see this as a cartoon or comic strip! With the right illustrations, I would totally give this five stars. I have never heard of the author, but he does a great job with these tales!

I'd like to thank Shawn Robinson, NetGalley, and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

i happen to be a big squirrel fan (There are millions of them in my neighborhood) so this book was a no brainer choice for reading! I think kids middle grade school kids are going to get a kick out the antics of Jerry and his friends! Fun, easy read and it's part of a series!

This was such a fun collection of stories and adventures. The characters are great, and Jerry's inventions were interesting. Each story is relatively short, and perfectly geared for younger readers. (Think early middle grade level). These would also be fun for parents to read to little ones, a story before bed to help them fall asleep with giggles and smiles. Overall a cute and quirky collection that's sure to make you laugh at least a little.
