FOREVER HIDDEN by TRACIE PETERSON and KIMBERLEY WOODHOUSE is the first novel in the Treasures of Nome series. It is a beautiful historical romance, with quite a bit of intrigue and a good Christian message, based largely on Philippians chapter four, and the importance of forgiveness is also brought out strongly.
The story starts out in the mining town of Cripple Creek, Colorado, in 1892 and carries on in Nome, Alaska, in 1904.
Melissa Powell and her three red headed daughters are brilliant musicians. They are all lovable characters, but I especially like Havyn, who sings to her brood of chickens, each of which she has named! She is also the family's keeper of secrets.
The four women live with Melissa's father, Chuck Bundrant, who has given up mining and runs a succesful farm.
After the death of his grandfather, John Roselli uses all his savings to get a parcel to Chuck, his nonno's old friend, and ends up staying on as farm manager.
That's as much as I am going to tell you!
I have read and enjoyed so many of these authors' novels, and Forever Hidden is no exception. I can highly recommend the book as a most enjoyable read and am looking forward to the next books in the series.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

I love these authors! They never fail to write a good story! This is the journey of a mother and her father and her three daughters in Alaska. It is redeeming yet at times, heartbreaking. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series. If I were to make one suggestion, it would be more about the setting. This is missing. A great read-don’t miss this one.

Nice slow moving story, Havyn and John meet when John comes to deliver a package to Havyn's grandfather, from John's grandfather. He becomes foreman of the family farm upsetting Havyn's sister Whitney. As time goes on, he becomes a very important part of the family, an indispensable member. Throughout the story Havyn and John become closer and closer, as their friendship grows. An all around lovely story to enjoy!

A wonderful start to series, Treasures of Nome. Readers will become quickly engaged in this heart warming story taken place in the early 1900's in Alaska. I loved the deep bond the three sisters had with their mother and grandad. My favorite character was John, a faithful, steadfast man with a unwavering faith in God. Looking forward to the next installment. Highly recommend!

This is my first ARC. Thank you BHP to fill this bookless space as I waited for another BH release! I love Tracie Peterson! I tried her in the Land of the Shining Water series as a Prime Reading and have read several since then so u was happy to see she had something new and requested! I have gotten to know Kimberly Woodhouse in Daughters of the Mayflower, which was the next installment was one that I was awaiting, and I feel like I have a new friend! I actually am in a series and didn’t want one right now, which is why I didn’t choose anymore of Tracies books for the moment other than her standalone All Things Hidden, which opened my heart to AK. Haha I didn’t know that this was a series until marking it as reading on Goodreads but I am thrilled that this isn’t goodbye to my friends the Powell’s and the new Mrs Roselli! I didn’t see the other installments on Goodreads but I want to add them to to Want to Read shelf ASAP since I will have to wait for my next installment of DotM after I read the next. This was great! I was at a loss to find something to read and didn’t want to be bookless for the couple of weeks before DotM released. Another great one my Tracie Peterson and Kimberly Woodhouse!

Fans of Tracie Peterson will enjoy Forever Hidden, because of her experience writing rich novels set in Alaska. Collaborating with Kimberley Woodhouse for this new Treasures of Nome series enriches the story with her musical background. The book is filled with the three Powell sisters who are woven together as a musical tapestry that plays an integral role in the family's survival when their grandfather has a stroke.

Moving to Alaska after the death of their father meant something different to everyone in the family. The impact was profound, as forgiveness and trust are woven throughout this story. As a reader, one has the privilege of seeing and understanding each character. In fiction, as in life, we react to things because of our life experiences. It is when we are open to seeing situations with fresh eyes that we begin to understand, forgive and trust.

I recommend this book to readers who enjoy well written historical Christian fiction. I particularly liked the setting in the Alaska gold rush heyday. This book begs for a sequel or two, because every sister has a story to tell!

I loved this book so much!! These two ladies are just absolutely the best!! I try not to miss any of their books!!
You know, you just gotta love redheads especially if they are as talented as Haven, Madysen and Whitney! I certainly can relate to these awesome ladies real well!
I love the different spelling of Madysen's name. These ladies are loving, close, stubborn and happy as long as they have each other. I'm so jealous! I've always wanted a sibling. I do but I wasn't raised with them.
Music is so relaxing and I too sometimes let my frustrations out with the Viola.
I belong in an orchestra and I love every minute of it!
Change isn't easy. I don't care for it myself but sometimes it can be good.
Jealousy is also not good. I'm guilty of it myself.
I find it hard to forgive people too but I found in order to have a sense of peace we need to forgive people when we've feel we've been wronged.
I really enjoyed this book and I have a good feeling that this is the start of a wonderful series! I always look forward to seeing what these ladies will come out with next. This book certainly didn't disappoint.
I was glad to be back in Alaska again!
I highly recommend this book!
My thanks to Netgalley. NO compensations were received and all opinions are my own.

Forever Hidden is a very charming book about a young man making a journey north to find and deliver a package to an old friend of his recently deceased uncle. This book has some really endearing elements. It has romance, old charm, intrigue, some shady dealings and shady characters and great friendships. I especially enjoyed the character of John and the setting he found himself in, John was very well written and I felt like I knew him through the author's words. The girls were also wonderfully unique with their own quirks and vibrant personalities. I would have liked to know more about the town characters, especially Judas Reynolds. I feel like his character could have had more of a story to tell, he played an important part in the overall story but his character seemed to fall flat. With that being said, this is still a great read and will leave you wanting to know more about these wonderful characters!

Oh, the secrets people keep and just what hiding them can do. In Forever Hidden, we are introduced to the three Powell sisters along with their love of music and their headstrong, red-headed personalities as they find themselves dealing with circumstances they never expected.

I think my favorite part of this novel was the cast of characters. Even though this was really Havyn's story, I appreciated getting to know each of the other members of her family and how they'd all been shaped into the people they were. At different times I felt like I could resonate with each of them in a unique way. I also adored John. At times I'll admit he seemed "too good," but I still think he was the perfect man to save the day. I have to say his most swoon-worthy moment for me was when he talked to Havyn's chickens. I appreciated that he supported her instead of making fun of her love of animals. That's a good guy right there. Another favorite scene? The sheep herding. But I'm not saying anything more you'll have to read it for yourself haha.

Although at times I felt like I could resonate with each of the sisters, I think my heart resonated more closely  with Whitney. She put a lot of weight on her shoulders and felt the most at peace when she could control things. Change was a scary thing. She liked to be needed and didn't like having to rely on anyone else. The anger she held onto towards her father was a fuel to protect her heart and not let others in. But while she bottled up all of her emotions and held them close, it didn't mean she didn't have feelings. She just had to learn how to process them and she couldn't pretend they didn't exist. I can't wait to read Whitney's book. I hope it's next just so I don't have to wait long for it.

If you've ever read any of the authors' other books, you'll know that faith isn't something that's merely added in, but holds a genuine, vital role. What I loved about this one was that while the overall lesson may have been the same, each of the characters had to learn it differently. As people none of us are the same. We have our own experiences and personalities that shape us into who we are. We each have our own secrets we'd rather not be revealed either for our own protection or that of others. Yet even though we can have the best intentions for why we keep them, they can still hold great power to destroy. It's amazing the healing powers that faith can have on a person's soul.

I truly enjoyed reading this one and can't wait to continue with the next one in the series. I'm only sad I have to wait another whole year for it to come. I got plenty of laughter out of the fun with the animals and I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters. I can't wait to see Whitney and Madysen get their happy endings as well.

Chuck Bondurant has been caring for his daughter and granddaughters since their husband/father was killed in Colorado. He has moved the family to Alaska and started a dairy farm. When he has a stroke, the family is left bewildered and searching for a plan to continue without his strong support. Chuck has already made provisions though through John Roselli, the grandson of a good friend in Colorado. John came looking for Chuck when his grandfather died and left him with a request to take a package to Chuck. Chuck hired him and asked him to agree to marry one of his granddaughters and take over the farm when Chuck passed on. Of course, the ladies had no idea about this plan. His granddaughter Hayvn is the one who trusts John and John is enchanted with her as well. This is a fun book and there are twists and surprises along the way. I recommend this book to anyone who likes historical romances.

Should some secrets remain forever hidden?

That’s the question three sisters must face—each in her own way—in Forever Hidden.
This sweet romance is laced with just the right tough of drama, intrigue, and danger. And if you like chickens (what a strange line for a review!), you’ll love Havyn Powell and her brood. The first in a new series, veteran authors’ Peterson and Woodhouse spina perfect introduction to what will surely be a series of delightful reads.

Forever Hidden introduces us to the Powell sisters whose story we can continue to follow in The Treasures of Nome series. Set in the early 1900s, readers get to see the treatment of the day of pulmonary disease and stroke, complicated by living in the Alaska Territory. The main characters in this novel are models of faith and strength, but also demonstrate the struggles with forgiveness and following one's own agenda that even stalwart Christians face. This novel also addresses the wisdom of keeping secrets, even when it seems the right thing to do.

As always Peterson and Woodhouse have crafted a story not meant solely to entertain, but also to encourage and challenge. As with many series these days, this one is built around a family of three siblings with a book devoted to each. Interestingly, The Treasures of Nome begins with the focus on the middle sister. The eldest and youngest are polar opposites, and I cannot wait to see the direction their stories take. I am grateful to have received a copy of Forever Hidden from Bethany House via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. I was under no obligation to provide a positive review, and received no monetary compensation.

Are you ready for a secret?
Award-winning authors of fiction and nonfiction books Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse start their historical romance "Forever Hidden", published by Baker Publishing Group (Bethany House), in Cripple Creek, Colorado, in 1891 where Melissa Powell learns from her father, Chuck Bondrant, that her husband Christopher "died" and is already buried. The decision is taken that she and her three daughters, Whitney, Havyn, and Madysen cannot stay there. The story picks up thirteen years later in Nome, Alaska, where the family now runs a dairy and poultry farm. Their live only seems to be stable because Havyn keeps the secret about her grandfather's failing health, but there are also other secrets.
John Roselli shows up in Nome, a grandson of Chuck's friend, and is hired as foreman for the farm. All seems to be going well, even in regard to the fact that Chuck's desire is for John to marry one of his granddaughters. Which one will it be and will it really happen since there is also Judas Reynolds. What are his goals in Nome? Ad what will happen when a supposedly "dead" father suddenly shows up?
I have read some of Tracie Peterson's books (historical and contemporary), but this was the first novel which I read that was written by Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse. I highly recommend this book to readers who love Christian historical romance novels and cannot wait for the others in this series "The Treasures of Nome" of which "Forever Hidden" is the first one.

Set in Nome, Alaska during the Alaskan Gold Rush, three sisters: Whitney, Havyn, and Madysen along with their mother and grandfather, are surviving quite well on their farm selling eggs and milk to the miners. The three girls along with their mother are all talented instrumentalists and singers so they add to their income by entertaining on the weekend at the Roadhouse Cafe. The grandson, John Roselli, of an old friend from their previous home in Colorado appears with a package from his grandfather who has passed away. As soon as John arrives, trouble begins with their grandfather developing apoplexy and their mom asthma. But secrets from the past and secrets from the present collide to bring all sorts of problems descending upon the family.

Well written, with wonderful historical detail of both the time period as well as life and times in Nome led to a thoroughly delightful read. The three sisters were so different, but so gifted in both their singing and instrumental abilities. Whitney was strong-willed, independent, opinionated, as well as somewhat of a firebrand and felt she needed to be the support of her family. Havyn was sweet, loving (both people and her animals), and forgiving. Madysen, the youngest, was somewhat scattered; but tried her hardest to help out wherever she was needed. The role the animals played in the story was absolutely charming. The spiritual thread that ran throughout was very well done.

I look forward to the other books in this series.

"Forever Hidden" by Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse is the first book in the Treasures of Nome book series. The book is historical fiction taking place in the 1904 in a farm town in Alaska. Havyn , her sisters and her Mother live with her grandfather on a farm. The town is a gold rush town and the time period is seen well in this town. Havyn and her sisters have become accomplished musicians. The family lives with the grandfather. He is supportive and helps guide the family. He has a good character. What will become of the family when trials come and the grandfather gets sick? How will the many chores and duties of the farm be carried out? The book is written by the two authors Tracie Peterson and Kimberly Woodhouse and shows the reader what life was like in this gold rush town. The book is well written. I appreciate the author and netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book. The opinions about the book are my own .

What a beautiful story!
I long to see Alaska in person. I got a coveted glimpse of life in Alaska during the gold rush.
Though life was difficult for the Powell sisters, they had each other, and their music. It made life more enjoyable for them.
I loved the way the sisters interacted with each other. They knew each others strengths and weaknesses and knew who to count on in any given situation, as well as who not to involve. The girls antics on the farm with the chickens, dogs, and sheep were hilarious. I loved the cheese making scene too.
If you enjoy warm, cozy books...this one will fit the bill nicely. A good family saga. The characters are wonderful, the setting perfect and the writing, superb. I hope you check it out.

At 23 years old, Hayvn Powell lives an enchanted life in Nome, Alaska. Supported by her loving mother and grandfather, Hayvn and her sisters have grown into a trio of strong women. All seems ideal, until a mysterious illness strikes her grandfather, leaving the family looking for a way to hang on to their livelihood.

An unknown gentleman arrives to keep the farm running, but the girls uncover documents that may prove him less than noble. With grandfather and then their mother both falling ill, the girls must search out the truth amidst a sea of secrets and romance. Before they lose everything.

Another wonderful read by Peterson and Woodhouse. The authors of The Heart of Alaska series return to a familiar setting and place this story in the 1900's gold rush. Melding history and romance, they write a cast of well-rounded characters, each unique and distinct in their own right. Forever Hidden also includes the rich details of both the gold rush period and Alaska itself that make it an interesting read.

While some aspects of the story were predictable, others were not. And some characters that seem flat later came to life, providing twists and turns throughout the story. For anyone that loves historical Christian reads, Forever Hidden will not disappoint. The only problem is... now I'm anxiously awaiting book #2.

I'm of the opinion that one of the signs of a great historical fiction novel is that it makes me want to search out something I've read to learn more about it. In Forever Hidden, there were several such treasures.

The Powell sisters were so delightful in their enthusiasm for music and their love for their mother and grandfather. Each was so different and yet they had a strong bond.

John was my favorite character. All alone in the world after the death of his grandfather, his last living relative, he found himself in Alaska to fulfill his grandfather's dying wish. Offered an opportunity by Chuck, his grandfather's best friend, he struggled to be sure he was doing the right thing. I loved his work ethic and his commitment to take care of the farm and the family there to the very best of his ability.

Havyn's chickens were great! I loved the way she cared for each and every one of them and had given them names. And spoke to them and sang to them. And then there was the incident with the sheep!!

I was also fascinated to read about cheese making. The great description of making mozzarella made me want to look up a video to see this being done. I had no idea it was so fast and easy. I now understand why it has such an unusual texture.

Forever Hidden has a satisfying conclusion, though some of the intrigue and conflict is not completely resolved. It is clearly the beginning of a series with closely intertwined stories .

If you enjoy historical fiction with a strong Christian message, you will enjoy Forever Hidden.

Forever Hidden by Tracie Peterson and Kimberly Woodhouse is the first novel in The Treasures of Nome series. Forever Hidden is a well-written novel that is rich with history and developed characters. I thought the authors captured the time period and the locale. The descriptions of Nome were beautiful (made me want to visit). The three Powell sisters are so talented. Whitney, Havyn, and Madysen each play an instrument. The three women have varying personalities. Whitney, the eldest, is strong willed, independent, opinionated, plays the piano, and is good with sled dogs. Madysen, the youngest, plays the cello, has a sweet personality, but is absentminded. Havyn, the middle sister, plays the violin, a good listener, loves her chickens, and the secret keeper of the family. Forever Hidden is Havyn’s story as she works to bring in money to keep the farm afloat, helps care for her grandfather, and gets to know John Roselli. I like how faith is intertwined into the story. Faith plays a vital role in each of the main characters lives. It is a part of who they are which shines through the pages of the book. I enjoyed reading Forever Hidden. There is quite a bit happening in the story from the grandfather’s illness, John arriving in town, Havyn’s chickens, Judas Reynold’s and his conniving, the new doctor in town, Madysen and the sheep, and so much more. It is enjoyable to read a story that can make you laugh and cry. It is an enriching story and I am eager for the next tale in The Treasures of Nome series. Forever Hidden is an emotional story that will touch your heart.

This author duo has struck a chord with my reader brain. I love the detailed settings they include and the journeys they always require of their characters. Havyn and her sisters, life has never been truly easy. They have a loving mother and grandfather, but after losing their father, they’re somewhat bereft.
I’ve noticed myself picking up a lot of books where the characters are required to forgive, and this one was no different. There’s a level of agony in the decision to let go of your anger and accept that forgiveness is more for yourself than for the person who’s done you wrong. That fact comes easier for some of the sisters than it does others.
When I first started reading, I thought I knew where the story was going. I was partially right, and I loved where I was wrong.
Havyn and her sisters have been shaped by their past, and the eldest, Madison, has quite the temper. She refuses to trust anyone except family, and with all the secrets floating around in their midst, everything will be thrown into chaos. That’s one thing about secrets…they never stay buried.
John is handed a big job when Chuck asks him to help with the dairy. He won’t understand just how big a job until later. Much like we don’t know the extent of what God will ask of us right away.
I’m anxious to read the next book in this series. If you enjoy historical romance with strong, bold characters, give this book a try.

I truly enjoyed reading this historical fiction book, taking place in Alaska, by Peterson and Woodhouse! This was the first book in a new series, and it left a perfect ending where I will absolutely be seeking future books.

The characters were beautifully developed. One of the main villains is not known as a villain, and demonstrates how things are not always as they seem. There were even a couple of well planned plot twists! I love when I can't guess ahead of time everything that is about to take place. A lot of wonderful imagination was demonstrated in the pages of this book!

The synopsis for this book, in my opinion, is not as good as it has potential to be. As a matter of fact, I almost didn't read this book because of the description I read in advance. And then, due to that description, I had a rather hard time getting into the book because I was expecting certain events to be very different. I think that the details should not indicate so much emphasis on the villain, and focus a little more on how people aren't always as they seem...a little more vague and mysterious.

Although it did take me a chapter or two before I was truly pulled into the book, I enjoyed this book immensely! As stated at the beginning, I will absolutely be seeking future books in this series!

Forever Hidden by Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse is the first book in their latest series The Treasures of Nome. As the series title suggests, the story takes place in Nome, Alaska in the early 1900s, when the search for gold was strong in that area.

The Powell family own the only dairy farm in the area, providing milk to the prospectors. Hayvn’s grandfather owns the farm and since her father is deceased, leaving his wife and three daughters, Granddad takes caring for his daughter and granddaughters very seriously. However, the older man’s health may not be as robust as he wants everyone to believe. Only Hayvn has seen his weakness and he swore her to secrecy.

John Roselli was given a mission by his grandfather before the man died: deliver a package to his father’s best friend. This task lands John on the Powell’s doorstep. Granddad immediately welcomes his best friend’s grandson and hires him on the spot. More than hires him, actually. Granddad knows that if he dies, the girls cannot inherit the farm, so he begs John to pick one of his granddaughters to marry before it’s too late.

Forever Hidden is a tale of romance and overcoming heartache. It is easy to tell that it is only the first installment of the series and that to fully appreciate the story, it would be best to read all three books together (though the next two books are yet to be published). I love the setting and John and Hayvn are great characters. Overall, while an enjoyable read that kept me entertained, it didn’t have the emotional depth that I usually love in a book.

With good writing and an entertaining story, especially if you like a historical novel set in the Last Frontier, check out Forever Hidden. The power of secrets bind this book together.

This story follows three sisters who live in Nome, Alaska, with their mother and grandfather on a farm. Unlike the gold rush prospectors, this family makes their living from farm produce/meat products sold to the townsfolk. And, the three young women are musically trained and provide evening "clean" entertainment, too. They are an incredibly industrious lot; working so much that they must be exhausted. To make sure the family farm stays with the women, grandfather enlists the help of an old family friend connection. Hardworking John Roselli reluctantly agrees to the terms of the contract, as he wants to honor the wishes of his own grandfather.

The story is set around 1900s when the area is being settled. It's an entertaining story, with this being the first in a series.

A slow-burning romance set during the Alaskan Gold Rush. The vivid details and the touch of mystery brings this story to life. I enjoyed getting to know these sisters and seeing their family dynamics unfurl throughout. As a music lover, I loved the musical elements woven in. This is a charming read and I can't wait to see what these two authors are going to give us next in this series.

Nome, Alaska is the setting of this book and I loved all the rich descriptions the authors had included in the book. I was able to perfectly visualize the setting as I was reading because I was transported to amazing Alaska.
Secrets, we all keep them. Some are nothing but some are pretty big and can cause so much grief for ourselves and others.
A wonderful start to the , The Treasures of Nome series readers will quickly become engrossed in the story.
Three sisters have a strong bond with each other and their mother and grandfather.
I very much enjoyed the character John, strong of faith he has traveled to the farm to deliver something for his grandfather he promised he would . Taking on a job on the farm is an answer to his prayers and the three sisters's grandfather's as well.
Wonderful start to the series by veteran authors Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse you'll be sure to want to read all in the series. I know I look forward to them.

Nome, Alaska and dairy farming don't seem to go together real well and yet this is the story of Chuck Bundrant and his daughter and three granddaughters who moved to Alaska to escape the past and have settled down and worked hard to make a dairy farm successful. There are cows to milk, chickens to feed and talk to, sled dogs, and even sheep by the time the book is done. There seems to be way more work than can be done in a day especially after illness and tragedy strike.

This book does a good job of showing the resilience of men and women. The phrase from the Bible, "cast down, but not destroyed" comes to mind. While it's taken out of context here, this family was determined to make a way when times were tough. The Pastor preached on contentment and joy in all circumstances and Havyn (the main character of the main characters) really wanted to do that in her own life. I needed that reminder myself that even when life is throwing a curve ball, I can choose contentment and I can choose joy.

Another thing I liked about the book is it didn't end happily ever after. Yes, there was a happy ending, but it was overshadowed by grief and loss and I appreciate when books do that. Life doesn't always give happy endings and I like when my books reflect real life.

I read a lot of Tracie Peterson books and I think my favorite are the ones she co-authors with Kimberley Woodhouse. It might all be in my head, but they seem to have a deeper depth to them than the ones she writes on her own. The characters seem more developed and thoughtful perhaps; I'm not sure I can completely describe it, but that is my takeaway so far.

I received this book from Bethany House via NetGalley and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Any book co-authored by Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse will immediately get my attention. This book is a great start to what I believe will be a very interesting series set in Nome, Alaska.

I loved the characters of Whitney, Havyn, and Madison. The three Powell sisters are beautiful; extremely talented musically; but have very different personalities. Because the Powell family has gone through a time of sorrow and heartbreak, the sisters have a close relationship with each other. They each have their part in helping with the family farm. This book focuses on the characters of Havyn and John Roselli. Havyn is the family member that everyone comes to with their troubles and secrets. John is a kind and compassionate guy, and as he works with Havyn’s grandfather, he becomes seriously interested in Havyn. John and Havyn’s strong faith in God is needed as they struggle to overcome difficulties that threaten the health and welfare of the Powell family.

There’s some situations in this story that were not resolved at the end of this book. I’ll be looking forward to reading more of the Powell family’s story.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This book has so much in it. I love the descriptions of Alaska. They almost make me want to brave the weather there. I love the characters. I laughed and cried throughout. Havyn and her family go through many trials and then they meet up with John who helps them through so much. This story is fantastic and I can’t wait to read book two in this series. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

FOREVER HIDDEN is the latest by this dynomite writing dual and despite the somewhat slow start, by the time I got to chapter two I was fully engrossed.

I absolutely fell in love with John and Havyn and her sweet grandfather. I loved Havyn's quirky personality and I would love to hear all the music in this book. John is such a sweetie. Loving and kind and giving, seeking not himself.

Everyone had secrets though and some of them might be deadly. There are a couple twists. One I saw coming and the other I didn't. Parts of the book are really sad, but there are plenty of lighter moments.

I absolutely loved FOREVER HIDDEN and can't wait for the next book.

Nice start to a new series by author team Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse. It was fun to read the forward and learn how Kimberley's own experience with raising chickens is reflected in the novel. The three daughters in this series are modeled after her piano students that are also enthusiastic readers.

Forever Hidden has all the key elements of an engaging historical romance. There is vivid imagery (Nome, Alaska), villains, family secrets, historical details and endearing characters. I enjoyed getting to know the three sisters: Whitney, Havyn and Madyson. Havyn's love for her chickens and purposeful effort on being slow to anger was part of her charm.

I am especially looking forward to Whitney story. She has hardened her heart to outsiders and is very protective of her family.

This was a great novel! I had never heard of dairies in Alaska so that was a great little added plus for an avid reader like myself. The storyline captured my attention from the beginning scenes and kept I until the very end. I can’t wait to read the next books in the series.

Every time I’ve read a Tracie Peterson novel, I’ve been impressed with the complexity of the story. This book is another prime example of that. Once again, she’s featured a trio of sisters (this was also done in the Heart of the Frontier trilogy I recently read), and I think she handles this masterfully.

This book, of course, has a co-author, Mrs. Kimberley Woodhouse, and I’ve enjoyed another of her books with Mrs. Peterson, In the Shadow of Denali. I was delighted to see that this one was just as enjoyable.

The dairy farm was a fun and beautiful setting. Variety of animals was beautiful. It included cows, chickens, sled dogs, and even sheep. I’m hoping the sled dogs will come into play even more in book two, as they were sort of back-burner in this one. What was especially neat about this setting and the animals was that it was a family-run farm. Seeing the sisters, mother, grandfather, and hired hands work together was so enjoyable, and the details included really made this farm pop to life in a way that it felt like it could easily be located just up the road from me (if I lived out in the country, which I don’t currently).

Who doesn’t love a foreign-born lead in Christian fiction? That John Roselli was born in Ireland and immigrated to the United States prior to the start of this story simply delighted me. As his family history was layered in, I found myself more and more invested in his portion of the story. The depth gained by the rich background was well worth the wait for every nugget that was uncovered.

Just as with all the other Tracie Peterson books I’ve read in the past, this one proved that she does an exquisite job throwing in all sorts of twists and turns that are unexpected. I will say, though, that I predicted one major plot twist from the prologue; other than that one, I didn’t see many of the other surprises coming.

The theme of learning contentment is one that was very timely for me, as this is something I’m actively practicing right now. I love it when God nudges me to read the exact book that confirms that I’m on the right track in my personal life.

Content: gambling, alcohol and drunkenness, tobacco (including as a prescribed medicine), saloons and their ladies, marital affairs (mentioned)

I really enjoyed the character development in this book. Each of the sisters were unique in their own way. There were parts that tugged at your heart and parts that made you angry! There is a whole behind the scenes story going on that I’m sure will continue to develop into the next book.

The story of friendship, disappointment and loss were relatable. I want to find some music to listen to while I’m reading. I can just imagine what the sisters sound like in their performances. I read this book in one sitting and immediately picked up the 2nd book and dug in! Can’t wait for a third book!!!!

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the Publisher and was under no obligation to post a favorable review.

I’m never quite sure what to expect of dual-author stories, but I honestly felt like this pairing brought out the strengths of both authors and I loved the story that resulted. It’s set in the early years in Nome, Alaska and features three musically-talented sisters, their mother, and their grandfather. There is a mystery surrounding the loss of their father, plus tragedy to overcome as the mother and grandfather face serious health issues.

I enjoyed seeing the girls figure out how to support themselves when money grew tight and the chickens were pretty funny! A quiet romance is featured as well.

Thanks to the publisher for a free reading copy. A favorable review was not required.

This is a story of forgiveness. With accounts told from first hand experiences from the authors. All told in a really incredible way.

I became attached to the Powells and John Roselli very quickly. I'm so looking forward to book two!

I loved how passionate Hayvn and her sisters, Madysen and Whitney are. About music, and family and life. It really showed those things in a beautiful light.

I related a lot to Hayvn and her struggles. I found myself praying along with her. It seems whenever I read a tale told by Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse I connect so so much to the characters troubles. And many times I'm able to heal along with them. That's my absolute favorite thing about this duo's books. I get so much inspiration and encouragement from the testimonies they write!

Plus there was a lot of cute chicken anecdotes thanks to Kimberley Woodhouse! 😂

The only thing I didn't love was things started out a little slow and there wasn't a ton of drama. (But maybe I'm just too dramatic. 😆)
