I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book made available through NetGalley. All thoughts an opinions are my own.

The Wedding Dress Christmas, by Rachel Hauck, was originally published in October of 2019. Although a novella in the Wedding Dress Collection, it works very well as a stand-alone story. There's enough background to get the reader up to speed on the history of the dress without bogging down the current tale. I fell in love with Hearts Bend, the small town near Nashville, TN. Regular folks mix with the rich & famous in a perfect, accepting way. I adore Christmas romances but the story has a little too much reality to be fluffy. It's grounded and fantasy. A magical wedding dress mixes with Christian faith in a lovely way.

Buck & JoJo knew each other as kids but lost touch after college. Each went their own way. When Buck comes home for an extended stay it sets the stage for old and new feelings to surface. They are a cute couple who deserve a HEA, JoJo most of all. All the characters are nice, homey folk, easy to like. I finished the story and wished for a little more. I missed the series the first time around so now I'm going to play catchup.

The Wedding Dress Christmas by Rachel Hauck takes us on a journey to Hearts Bend, Tennessee. JoJo Castle works at The Wedding Shop that is owned by her cousin, Haley Danner. JoJo loves Hearts Bend with its special traditions. JoJo, though, does not believe love is for her especially after what happened in Dallas. Buck Mathews, country music star, returns home for Christmas when he hears about his mother’s illness. The last twelve years Buck has spent working on his career and has had little time for his family. JoJo fell in love with Buck when she was in the ninth grade, but he considered her his good friend. Buck now sees JoJo in a different light, and he begins to have thoughts of marriage. While JoJo is happy in Hearts Bend, Buck has tour commitments that would keep him away for months on end. Is there a way for these two to come together and get their happily ever after? With the magic of Christmas along with a very special wedding dress, there might be a special miracle in Hearts Bend this holiday season. I have read every book in The Wedding Collection series and I thought The Wedding Dress Christmas was a lovely addition. It can be read on its own for those new to this charming series. I enjoyed reading this heartwarming holiday novella. It was nice to catch up with Haley and her husband, Cole from The Wedding Shop. JoJo Castle is a woman who loves living in her hometown where she volunteers for several projects. But JoJo has fears that keep her from imagining a love of her own while she helps others find the perfect dress, veil and shoes for when they marry their soulmate. I like the developed characters that were realistic. I like the magical wedding dress that comes in an unassuming trunk with its special history. The descriptions of Hearts Bend bring it alive and make it a place that I want to live. I would avoid Brandi Walsh, though, for fear of being roped into a project. The ending was enchanting. We see how fear can hold a person back if they let it. This is a story that will make you feel happy inside and believe in Christmas miracles. The Wedding Dress Christmas is a magical Christmas tale with a fairy-tale wedding dress, special shoes, a tattered trunk, a custom Christmas carol, concerned citizens, and pageant pandemonium.

A perfect holiday story that was both delightful and entertaining at the same time!
Bring in some old "flames" and memories that re-kindle love and you have the makings of a perfect book!
Throw in some love, magic and a perfect wedding dress and you have the makings of a christmas miracle.
So totally enjoyed reading this book and thank you for giving me the opportunity to do so prior to publication---I just loved it!

Thank you to NetGalley for my copy of this sweet, Christmas book. Jo Jo Castle finds herself back in her hometown after being out on her own. As comfortable and reliable as home is, something is missing. That is when Buck Williams, an old friend and now a country superstar comes back to town and things start to get festive. At the dress shop, old friends and family help Jo Jo see that things can be safe but they don’t have to be boring. This was such a cute story about being kind to one self and about taking chances. The symbolism of the dress, made this story even better. This is a new author to me and Rachel Hauck, did not disappoint.

JoJo returned to Hearts Bend after a incident in Dallas had her running. She works with her cousin Haley at a local wedding shop. JoJo still gets spooked at night and has flashbacks of the incident and still cannot trust men. JoJo still believes the family December curse exists. Buck, JoJo's high school crush, returns to town from his country stardom to see his mom after her health issues crop up again and it is not looking good. Little did JoJo know that Buck always had a crush on her but neither said a word. When Buck sees JoJo at the wedding shop, his singing career goals may change for the white picket fence. Loved the history behind the wedding dress. Seeing that this is book 3.5 in The Wedding Collection series, I am definitely going to be reading books 1-3. Loved the pace of the book, the characters feelings and how they were portrayed. Just makes you feel good when you finish.

This has been such a nice clean and easy to read story. The characters are flawed but in their weakness, we see God holding them up and giving them strength. Jo was such an inspirational character. It was nice to see her come home to the quaint little town of Hearts Bend, Tennessee. The description of the town makes me want to live there and enjoy all the shops and friendly people. I wondered why Jo had left a great job to come back and work at the Wedding Shop. The author gives us snippets of why she came home, but we don't find out for awhile. I thought it was nice how the author didn't rush into Jo's past .

The only thing I can say for Buck is wow. He stole my heart with his charm and humble spirit. He comes home for a reason that is hard for him to accept. The flow of his story was good and there wasn't too much emphasis on his celebrity status while he visited his hometown. I was cheering for him to win Jo's heart but she has put up a wall that is hard to get through. Her fears have taken over her life and she has lost a little of her faith in God. Can Buck break through her barrier and show her how to trust again?

The Wedding Shop is wonderful and the introduction in the story of the wedding dress was enchanting. The dress is very special and I couldn't wait to see who the next bride would be to wear it. The dress mysteriously keeps going on display in the shop and I have a feeling that the dress has picked its next owner.

I enjoyed reading how Jo struggles with her anxiety and fear. It is a battle many of us deal with daily. Will Jo find a way to overcome her fear? The ending is perfect and reminds us that love does conquer all.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Such a great Christmas read! A sweet, fun romance with a bit of magic to boot. Buck, cowboy musical sensation is back home in Hearts Bend. Jojo ran from Dallas back to Hearts Bend after an incident. Crossing path around the holiday with Jojo's crush from ninth grade sets Jojo on a path to get over her fear to let love in. Is Buck met to hit the road touring or settle down? The special wedding dress is ready to choose again the next bride.

To be honest I fell in love with the characters of The Wedding Dress Christmas. Falling for both Buck and Jojo and rooting for a forever happy ending. I did find myself sometimes thinking - ya right, like that would happen? but then I remembered this is suppose to be a fun light quick read for the holidays and the author did just that. I have read one other book by Rachel Hauck (How to Catch a Prince) and remember just loving the book. I can't wait to read more from this author.

I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

Rachel Hauck's Wedding series is one of my favorites. The Wedding Dress Christmas is a sweet story and I was not disappointed by it. Who doesn't like a sweet love story at Christmas? Jojo is working in her cousin' Haley's wedding shop when Haley's wedding dress starts showing up on the mannequin. Jojo doesn't realize it but the dress has picked her to be the next bride. Meanwhile, she is trying to ignore the overtures of her high school crush.

This sweet romantic book was almost too short. Although the romance happens very quickly, one could argue it was years in its development.
Neighbors and high school best friends and crushes find themselves later in life meeting again.
She has been through a traumatic experience. He has risen to musical recognition and fame. He is the present home town claim to fame and favored son.
There is a sweet paranormal aspect to the book similar to a popular series involving a pair of blue jeans. Not only does a certain dress fit various sizes but it also promotes and recognizes true love.

I liked the characters and their friends and family.

A fun romance with a magical wedding dress. This could only happen at Christmas! I've read and enjoyed Rachel Hauck's other books in this series and recommended them to my friends. This book will definitely give you a warm, fuzzy feeling!

This makes me want to read all the books in the wedding dress collection. I love the idea of a dress being handed down to brides that may not all be the same size or like the same style. The characters were great. This had a great amount of romance. It was too bad that we couldn’t hear any of Buck’s songs. I love country music. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

3.5 stars

A sweet small town Christmas romance. A novella of hope.

“Let go, Jo. Replace all your fears with love.”

JoJo Castle has loved Buck Matthews since they were in high school. Trauma from a past experience has rooted her heart with fear and is preventing her from letting herself be happy with the man that she loves. Buck Matthews has always loved JoJo but it took him a long time to realize it. Can they get past the obstacles in their way and finally be together?

The magic/mystery of the historic wedding dress from Hauck's previous books in the series has returned to reunite two deserving people and offers a Christmas miracle and a message of faith.

Thank you NetGalley for a review copy of this book.

The Wedding Dress Christmas is the fourth book in Rachel Hauck’s Wedding Collection. JoJo Castle returned home to Hearts Bend, TN, about five years ago after a traumatic event made her want to leave Dallas and her dream PR job. She is working with her cousin Haley Danner in Haley’s bridal shop, hoping to be able to buy in to the company. JoJo has thrown herself in to her hometown, volunteering for many things, although she had hoped to evade a third year of directing the kids Christmas program.

Buck Mathews has achieved Nashville stardom and comes from country music royalty, songwriter Lana Mathews and producer Owen Mathews. He has come home to spend the holidays in the wake of his mother’s diagnosis of a cancer return. Buck and JoJo had been friends since their early teens but had gone their separate ways. Upon seeing JoJo again he realizes she is the one that got away.

The mysterious wedding dress that Haley had worn, the one with the magical history, keeps appearing on a store mannequin, no matter how many times Haley and JoJo repack it. What is the dress trying to say?

This is a nicely written book with lovable characters and a winter wonderland setting. I did enjoy this sweet story and do recommend it.

Readers who Enjoyed The Wedding Dress and The Wedding Chapel will enjoy The Wedding Dress Christmas. It is another installment in the Harts Bend story. This time the plot revolves around Jojo and Buck. Jojo returned to Hearts Bend because a traumatic event that occurred when she worked in Dallas. She now works at the historic wedding shop where the magical wedding dress is kept. Buck is at the top of the country music charts, but he is tired and has come home to rest during the holidays. They were best friends in high school but have hardly communicated in the last 10 years. When they see one another in Hearts Bend, the old feelings ignite. Can Jojo get past her fear to love Buck and leave Hearts Bend? It's a great Christmas romance.

I was disappointed when I started reading this book and realized it was a Novella instead of a full length novel. I wanted a longer book! It was so neat to get to go back to the wedding shop and see what my beloved characters were up to! I so hope there is another book in this series, because I"m not ready to give up the wedding shop and their sweet little town!

If you want to curl up with a romantic, Christmassy, and touching love story, Rachel Hauck is your go to girl. If she writes it, I can't wait to read it. If I have one problem with her novels it is the fact that when reading them, I close up shop. My life comes to a pause until I read that last page. I would have a hard time picking a favorite book of hers. It would be like asking me which of my children I like the best. I loved The Wedding Dress, The Wedding Chapel, The Wedding Shop and now her new one The Wedding Dress Christmas. The mystery and magic of the wedding dress continues. This is a perfect Christmas story you will not want to miss. But I feel that way about all of Rachel's books. Give yourself a Christmas gift and get this book. It makes a wonderful gift too. While I could have predicted the ending to this story, I still enjoyed the read.
Could just picture some of the happenings that went on here, can you imagine a woman running and then driving with a bridal veil and not any veil, a very long train one!
I would love to be present when that ageless wedding dress is tried on, it is really magic!
Come and watch this smart talented girl share her gifts with her friends and town, but will she be able to shake off the hurts and terror that she is holding?
This is a very quick read, I read it in one setting, and will hold your attention!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Hauck House. and was not required to give a positive review.

This is a charming novella that I read in one afternoon. If you have read the previous books, you will be familiar with the dress, the old battered trunk and the brides from different eras. This time the bride is JoJo Castle, a young lady who definitely is in no hurry to walk down the aisle.

My favorite character in this book is Buck Matthews, he is career oriented until he realizes there are more important things in life, then he became family oriented and that's when I truly liked him. I loved the Christmas spirit in the town more than any one characters because that made the story more interesting and believable.

Overall, a relaxing read and fun way to spend an afternoon.

I enjoyed this Christmas novella. It is a sweet, sentimental story that put me in the Christmas spirit. Two people with empty hearts find love and happiness in this charming Christian romance and prove that magical things can happen at Christmas.

Jo Jo and Buck couldn’t wait to leave Hearts Bend, Tennessee to find fame and fortune. After ten years, they both realize life is full of compromises and they appreciate their small town and all the people in it. I found Jo Jo and Buck easy to like and loved this feel good Christmas story.

Granted I did not do research before I started reading this novella that it was part of a series, but oh well. This novella explained about what happened before and I now can not wait to read the first three books. I loved the characters and plot of the story. It was a great Christmas read. It had romance and friendship and finding out what you truly want in life.

This novella was wonderful! It is a romance story, but it is so much more. Facing your fears and truly living your best life is a theme that runs through the story. Also after achieving goals, at the lost of your core life, was the goal worth what was lost?
The author created an amazing small town in Hearts Bend, Tennessee. The characters are life-like, flawed and spiritual. I cared about them quite early in the story, which I think shows great writing skills. The plot flows very well and I was interested in the story immediately after beginning the book. I love the magic of the Wedding Dress, knowing who it is meant for and adapting to the blessed lady.
I highly recommend this heart-warming book! This was the first book in this series that I have read, and I definitely will be reading the others. I was able to understand the story fully, not having read the previous books in the series.
I also want to add that I was moved by the author’s dedication of her book: To God from whom all blessings flow.
I want to thank NetGalley.com, Hauck House and BookBuzz.net for allowing me to read the ARC. My review is completely my own opinion, not influence by receiving the ARC.

If you have not read The Wedding Dress series. Start now. It's so good. This was the perfect novella to read to get you in the Christmas spirit. We learn of Buck and JoJo and how this one simple dress changes their lives for good. Previous characters from the series make and appearance. You definitely can read this as a stand alone but I recommend reading the previous novels. I love the authors simplicity of writing, I felt like the story flowed very nicely. Highly recommend this author and her books.
Thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing to read and review this book.

What’s your favorite part of the Holidays? Is it the fried latkes, decorating the Christmas tree, lighting the menorah, watching your kids/ grandkids open their presents, finding the wooden pickle in the Christmas tree, spiked eggnogs, Holiday parties, the list goes on and on. Mine is reading heartfelt stories like ‘The Wedding Dress Christmas.'
'The Wedding Dress Christmas,' is a heartfelt short story about the power of love. Brutally raped and left for dead, Jojo returns home frightened and vows to never love. Five years later, Jojo has immersed herself in the everyday activities of the small town of Heart Bends, Tennessee. Buck Matthews, a big-time country singer, and an old friend returns home to care for his ailing mother. Buck falls madly in love with Jojo, turning her world upside down, as he shows her the true meaning of love. With the help of the town of Heart Bends, the two discover the true meaning of Christmas.

In this latest novella by Ms. Hauck, readers will continue the journey of the wedding dress. In a previous novel, readers learn the history behind the dress. This novella provides a glimpse of characters from the previous book as well. If you loved the first story, you will love this one as well. If you haven’t read any of Ms. Hauck’s books, this would be a great start (but be prepared to want to read anything from her). This book focuses on JoJo who works at the bridal shop helping ensure that all brides can find the perfect dress for themselves. She helps others with no plan to get married herself. Buck Matthews is worn out and tired of all of the publicity that he receives. He returns home to visit with his mom (who is sick) and take some time to himself. As Buck and JoJo spend time together, they discover how much they enjoy their company. This story takes place during Christmas. As you read, you will discover what happens with Buck and JoJo and the role the wedding dress plays in their story. If you are looking for a great story, then this book is for you! I highly recommend any of Ms. Hauck’s books! I know you will not be disappointed!
***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, I have purchased her books before.

The Wedding Dress Christmas by Rachel Hauck
JoJo is back in town and helping out at the wedding dress shop. Haley is about to deliver and her husband is nearby but busy with his business.
She got scared in Dallas and had to come home and her mothers especially as her health is not as good as it used to be. Those are the excuses she used.
We learn throughout the book what scared her and her old friend, Buck, cowboy singer about to go international is home for several weeks around Christmas and he's able to lure it out of her, after proposing.
Things happen fast for them both and each have their own dreams. The dress finds it's bride and no matter what shape or how tall they are, the dress fits. Too similar to the traveling pants of years ago.
The dress does comfort her...

First sentence: JoJo In the glow of the town’s newly strung Christmas lights, all her fears seemed to fade. How could anxious thoughts survive in the gold and silver of the most wonderful time of the year?

The Wedding Dress Christmas is a novella set in a popular Christian series by Rachel Hauck. Though I have not read any of the previous books in the series, I was able to enjoy this one. In fact, I found it a bit giddy-making.

The heroine, JoJo, is hiding out in her small hometown of Hearts Bend, Tennessee. Big city life left her feeling ashamed and out of sorts after a sexual assault. She hasn't really been able to trust many men yet (outside her family) but when her high school crush who is now a country super-star, Buck Matthews, returns to town...will this finally be their chance to get it right?

This one does feature the supernaturally magical WEDDING DRESS that somehow manages to fit every single person who tries it on regardless of their height or size. The dress, I'm thinking, is supposed to represent Christ's righteousness which cloaks his bride, the church.

This one packs a LOT of charm and tenderness. It would make a super lovely holiday film. I think it would translate to film well. I would recommend it to anyone--Christian or not--who enjoys watching romantic Christmas movies.

This is my first book by this author and while it is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the previous book, but had no trouble following this story.

I love small town romances, because they tend to have great and sometimes quirky characters and there is such an amazing feeling of warmth and togetherness. This book was no different.

his was a sweet and magical story with wonderful characters. The author did a great job of bringen the town and the people come alive.

The perfect christmas story.

Short and sweet, this is the story of JoJo, a woman who tasted the world outside her little home town, and came back to her nest. JoJo made a career as a PR manager in Dallas but something happened there that has shaken her to the core… to the point that a joking phone call from her Uncle can send her flying down the main street, veil on her head, forgotten. 🙂 She isn’t even the bride!

JoJo moved back from Dallas about five years ago and since then, has been helping her cousin, Haley, at The Wedding Shop, selling wedding dresses and accessories to brides. I love reading stories about destiny and childhood romances that did not happen. Yes, you read that right! JoJo and Buck were best friends when they were teenagers but life drifted them apart. But now he is back in town and their paths cross… will they be willing to share their true feelings?

Small town stories are one of my favorites, when everything happens within a couple miles radius. Every one knows every one and nothing is a secret – which can be good and bad, but the sense of community is so powerful, that you can’t quite not take it in your stride. Rachel did a great job of presenting the community at Hearts Bend (isn’t the name of the town romantic?) and what’s even better is that The Wedding Dress Christmas reminded me of Christmas time in Gilmore Girls so many times! I love that show so it is not surprise that I loved this book.

How far would you go to be with someone you love? That seems to be an underlying theme in romances – hard choices, careers on the line, distance – and I think overcoming these obstacles and making things work is one of the reasons I turn to romances. They have a way of making things better. Buck and JoJo both face some hard choices and have to reevaluate their dreams and where they want to be in life. Both are equally intelligent and open to listening to each other. Who would not like to have a chemistry like theirs?

Destiny arrives in the form of a wedding dress, a legendary one at that! A dress that chooses its next fit and clears all doubts away. Who would not love to have such a dress?

This book is full of heartfelt moments, life and joy. There is so much packed in the 150-ish pages and I am sure you will love it as much as I did. Funny, sweet and a story that will leave you warm and comfy, I am thankful to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for making this book available to me. I enjoyed a pleasurable evening with it, and look forward to reading other books by Rachel in the future!

A wonderful romance that continues with the special wedding dress that not only fits the right bride perfectly each time, but is also very insistent! Enduring characters and great escape to the small town Christmas.

This is a sweet story. I haven't read any of the other Wedding Dress books, and am fairly certain that the parts I wasn't sure about in this book were allusions to these previous books, but it didn't detract from the plot itself. The protagonist has had some hard knocks, but is back home and putting herself back together. The leading man is a famous country singer with his own fan base, but also an old friend of our leading lady. Together they heal the hurts and find out about second chances...

Wedding dress magic returns in The Wedding Dress Christmas. This time Jo is the recipient of the dress’s magic. As a teenager, Jo was secretly in love with her best friend Buck. However, she and Buck were never romantically involved. She went away to college and moved to Dallas to begin her career. However, a tragic event led Jo back home.

Buck pursued his dream of becoming a country music singer. Like his mother before him, he became a hit. After learning of his mother’s cancer diagnosis, her returns home just before Christmas. On his first day back, he runs into Jo and realizes that he may have been in love with her since they were kids.

After telling Jo that he “thinks” he loves her, Jo runs from her feelings, still traumatized by the events that happened in Dallas. Can the love of a good man and a magical wedding dress help heal those wounds?

A quick and easy novella, which I would give 3.5 stars. Part of a series, which is probably why I felt lost a few times, and wish more details would have been there. I liked Buck and JoJo, but more on their past and more on why she was back would have been nice earlier. Overall though, an easy Christmas read and one I would recommend. Especially if you have read the others in the series.

Thanks, Netgalley.com, for giving me a chance to read a free copy of "The Wedding Dress Christmas" by Rachel Hauckin exchange for my honest and fair review.
"The Wedding Dress Christmas" is a novella in the middle of a series. You can read it out of order, but in my opinion, I would like to read them in order. This novella is taking place before Christmas Ev, and it brings you all your warm fuzzies of the holiday seasons. I can see it as a Hallmark or Netflix Christmas movie.
I like the idea that the boding of the wedding collection series is a magical bride dress that finds the next to wear it for her wedding. Jojo and Buck are to Heart Bend, Tennessee, because of different circumstances that happened to them.
This story is a quick read that has moments of humor along with dealing with serious issues, overcoming fears, faith, and a little bit of magic & miracles. "The Wedding Dress Christmas is a book for romance readers who enjoy the rich history of a timeless heirloom passed through the years.
I want to thank again, Netgalley.com for allowing me to read a book for free from an author that I look forward to reading her other books and start The Wedding Collection series in order.

How could anyone not enthuse over this very special story? Even me, Scrooge-ish as I am, fell in love with the town of Hearts Bend, its residents, and the legend (facts) of a significantly, supremely, special wedding gown designed and sewn in 1912, in Birmingham, AL, by a black seamstress [read between the lines]: a gown which has endured 108 years and multiple brides, each with her own special story. This trrasured story is a Novella in Rachel Hauck's THE WEDDING COLLECTION (3.5).

” The Wedding Dress Christmas” is a novella in Rachel Hauck’s Wedding Collection. It was so nice to return to Heart’s Bend, Tennessee and revisit some of the characters from the previous Wedding books. This novella tells JoJo and Buck’s story. They were friends in high school and get reacquainted with one another were he come back to town. I always like to read a few books in December that take place during Christmas time and this book was a great way to spend an afternoon.

This book was received as an ARC from Hauck House in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I love reading a good holiday story in the middle of the holiday season. The Wedding Dress Christmas at first really generated a lot of questions such as why would this dress be such a prominent object for a miracle? Why would a country singer be so fond of a hometown girl and lastly, what is this miracle that is being said and why is it so important? All of those questions were answered throughout the book with the love story of JoJo and Buck and how their love grew strong on the holiday and how this wedding dress made JoJo break out of her shell and destined Buck for greatness with his country music career. A great read for the holiday season that will leave your body and heart feeling warm inside.

We will consider adding this title to our Holiday Romance collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
