100 Cookies is one of those book that everyone should own. It is amazing! Not only does it have recipes for a 100 cookies(honestly, it has more), it also has recipes of things like marshmallow and caramel, creams and custards. Every page has a beautiful picture of the cookie.
All the recipes are divided into categories: classics, brownies and blondies, fruit cookies, more of a extravagant options, pan cookies and combinations with already known options. In this book you can find not only well-known snickerdoodles, thumbprints and shortbreads but also a great selection of brownies(from simple to decadent), macaroons, meringues and palmiers. If you are not a lover of crispy bakery, the author has a great variety of baked bars. Some of my favouite recipes are: chocolate hazelnut and Danish pear-apple bars.
This book has a lot to offer beyond the offered recipe. Every cookie has a variation of different flavour, if you'd like to experiment.
Another great feature is that measurements are provided in cups and spoons as well as grams. It is very helpful when you want to be precise with the amount of the listed ingredients and one cup of flour can be different from another.

This book is definitely going to be in my Christmas wish list!

Thank you #netgally for providing me this book, #100cookies, in return to my honest review.

I drooled just looking at this cover, let alone the delicious recipes inside! So far I’ve only made the Blondie recipe, and oh my gosh it was so tasty! I can’t wait to bake more, and keep an eye out for more of Sarah’s books!

This book has an incredible variety of baked treats, including many that I did not even know were considered 'cookies'! The recipe layout used wasn't my favourite (a bit cramped) but I did love and appreciate that every single recipe was accompanied by a picture! So so important when it comes to books about food. This would make a great gift for anyone with a sweet tooth that enjoys baking.

This book is a wonderful collection of all different kinds of cookies and the pictures in it are simply stunning!
The recipes are easy to follow and it offers a lot of tips and tricks for inexperienced bakers.
I particularly enjoyed the mix and match chapter and the chapter about brownies and blondies.
I also found it very convenient that measurements are in grams and cups and that the book offers a conversion table at the end.

A wonderful, expansive collection of cookie recipes, covering all sorts of classic and creative flavours and combinations. Each recipe is presented clearly, framed with visual references and the introduction has a lot of extra helpful notes.

If there's a thing I love as much as reading is baking, so when I saw this book available on Netgalley the first thing that caught my eye was that mouth watering cover. Then I noticed the title, "100 cookies", and I clicked that "Read now" bottom faster than I would eat a cookie (and I can assure you I eat them fast!).

The book begins with a short introduction about how the author discovered her love of cookies, giving a series of baking tips that will be extremely useful if it's your first time baking. The book is divided in several chapters, going from basic recipes (cookies, brownies...) to some other elevated recipes perfect for parties or when you wanna impress your family and friends. There's also an "extras" chapter, with some basic fillings recipes and a "pan-banging cookies" chapter, with a technique I had never seen and I'm looking forward to try. There are photos for almost every recipe and all of them have a short introduction with some facts or memories about it.

One thing that I'm most grateful for is that all the ingredients are measured not only in cups, tablespoons, etc. but also in grams, making it so much easier for us european bakers. I hate when there're only american measurements in the recipe and I have to convert every single ingredient! There's also a conversion table at the end and some music to bake to (nice touch!). All the recipes have a step by step easy enough for even the most unexperienced bakers to follow.

The only problem I've encountered with this book is that I don't know which recipe try first!

Thanks to Netgalley and Chronicle Books for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Everything you want to know about cookies is here. From tips what flour to use, to great recipes that are not hard to make for a beginner baker. I liked the book arrangement and how it was presented. The only thing that I did jot like was the fact that the book was not available on Kindle format.

Wow, this book gets 5 stars just for looking delicious. If you weren't already craving something sweet by looking at the cover of this book, you will be by the time you open it and look inside.
This isn't the type of book I normally pick up but I do enjoy baking, especially cookies so I thought this would be a fun out-of-my-comfort-zone read.
The book is just loaded with every kind of cookies imaginable. Classic cookies, brownies, blondies, fruity, next level, and a lot more.
The recipe instructions are very detailed which will be very helpful when actually baking (because once you read this, you will definitely want some cookies!)
Also, at the back of the book there is a very helpful conversion table. That will come in handy for certain!
So all in all, if you are someone who loves to bake, wants to learn how to bake, or just need some inspiration, this is the book for you!

Photos - 5/5 stars this book contains beautiful photos for each recipe. They do look delicious! The photos are a helpful for picking out what cookie the baker wants to bake.
Ease of ingredients - 4/5 stars. Most ingredients could be found at an average store. There may be a few under the chapter called “The Next Level” where the reader may need an ingredient from a bigger grocery store.
Variety - 5/5 There is a huge variety of cookies in here. All skill levels would appreciate this book.

100 Cookies really does seem to have something for everyone. From Classics to Brownies (are those considered cookies?), Fruity ones, more complicated ones (palmiers with apricot and cardamom!), and more, there are plenty of choices in this book, with beautiful layouts and pictures. An expert baker will enjoy trying them all, an amateur baker will probably make half of them and fantasize about when they will tackle the other half.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Has a lot if cookie recipes in one books a great recipe book for anyone who loves To bake, or is just starting to find joy in baking going to try out the brownies recipes for sure.

This book is so much fun. I always stick to my usual cookies (chocolate chip and brownies) but this book gave me so many new ideas. I was most excited about a recipe for chocolate sugar cookies. I hadnt even thought of that!
I also really liked the music while baking section at the back. I thought that was a nice added touch. Definitely recommend.

Wow! This is a beautiful cookbook. With spending much more time at home, I have been baking a lot more, and this is the perfect cookie book! I particularly loved the beautiful photography and easy to follow recipes. The recipes include gram conversion, which i find incredibly helpful. Plus lots of chocolate chip cookie varieties. What more could I want?

The stay-at-home advisory hasn't bothered me one bit - (which is a bit concerning in itself) yet I've realized that I need to stop baking. But do I really? Eclairs, cheesecakes, sponge cakes, scones, have been top of the list, yet cookies have not made an appearance yet and I was happy to receive this galley for review. I'm not a cookie fan aside from a fresh homemade chocolate chip cookie, but this is definitely the time to experiment. I really liked the layout of 100 Cookies, the photos, and personal story (although I'd prefer linear numbered recipe instructions). I especially the Fruitextravaganza and The Next Level sections. I'm excited to try quite a few of these recipes (olive oil sugar cookies, palmiers with apricot and cardamom, the lavender cookies with white chocolate creme fraiche glaze and more) that will hopefully make it into the care packages I put together.

100 cookies is a good book for your baking inspiration. The instructions are straightforward. She is using common ingredients, so it's not very difficult to follow the recipes. The book is divided into few chapters. So you not only get cookies recipes, but also other sweet things, like brownies or macarons. Making cookies is not that difficult, so I think if you enjoy baking this book is good for adding to your cookbook collections. The pictures are nice too. But I find personally the recipes require a lot of sugars, which you can reduce to your liking. But still, it's nice to see the recipes here, and you can use it as your starting point to make a healthier version.

Divided into eight sections, Kieffer shows how to make 100 different types of cookies, brownies, and bars. Between the gorgeous photos, the variety of baking techniques, and a combination of classic and unique cookie recipes, this book has a little something for everyone.

I can't wait to try some of the recipes and techniques in 100 Cookies! I'm especially excited about Carrot Cake Bars with Meringue and Double Chocolate Espresso Cookies!

This is an amazing book, full of brilliant recipes, bright colourful pictures that tempt you in. I found this book to be one of the best cookie books I’ve ever seen, there aren’t any recipes I don’t want to try, it’s sectioned off and easy to navigate, written in plain English and no complicated instructions, great for a beginner or the experienced baker. This is one of the best baking books I’ve had in a very long time. Brilliant.

If I reviewed this before I finished making every cookie, it could be awhile. I will say that I loved the layout of the book, it was very easy to follow, and I really loved every recipe for every occasion! The pictures were wonderfully shot.

An amazing cookbook! You might think, as I did initially that 100 cookies doesn't sound like very many7, but the range of cookies and the inventiveness in the recipes means this is one cookbook you NEED to have.

The recipes are clear, with great added variations. Almost every cookie has a picture and they look so good I even want to eat the ones I know i would hate. I was getting hungry just reading the book with no cookies in sight!

This is honestly the perfect book and I can't wait to order it! This will be the only book you will ever need, it has every kind of cookie you could possible want. I loved the pictures and the addition of recipes for 'extras' like homemade marshmallows and pastry cream.

I have quite a few baking books, but this one has quite a few of the basics all in one place. Then there are variations of the basics, which sound fabulous and give inspiration for other ways to change the recipes. A few chapters in comes something that I have never heard of before which is pan-banging. This process is extra work, but these cookies look like the best cookies. I can't wait to try them. Great book! This was an ARC book from Netgalley.

I found the subtitle of this book to be ironic (The Baking Book for Every Kitchen...) because I can't use any of the recipes in my kitchen. This will be a fantastic cookie cookbook for people who do not follow special diets, but it is worthless if you are gluten free, vegan, paleo, keto, diabetic, allergic to dairy or eggs, etc. Keiffer offers 100 mouthwatering cookies but they are the very classic types -- white flour, butter, eggs, canola oil, etc. No alternate instructions or substitutions are included for others.

That said, if you just want a really great cookie cookbook and you don't have special dietary needs, this is a good one. Color photos are provided of most of the cookies and there's a big assortment of brownies, cookies, bars, etc. of different levels. They are generally the gourmet cookie shop type of deal and they look delicious. No nutritional information is provided for the recipes, but to be honest nobody really wants to know. They're unhealthy. Don't make them often. We all know that. :)

A good book for others, but it won't work for my kitchen.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.

Simply divine. Clear instructions, helpful tips, gorgeous photos, and a beautiful layout. And not just cookies! Brownies, blondies, caramel and more! I've got my eye on that Basil Brownie next.

This book will make a great gift and will become an essential title to own.

This book is so much fun. It is filled with gorgeous pictures and amazing recipes that I can't wait to try. Usually, I struggle to find the perfect cookie recipe, but I don't think that I'll have that problem anymore!
I have nothing but praise for Sarah Kieffer and her cookies.
I can’t wait to try all of these amazing recipes, specifically but not limited to, the “S’mores Cookies” (page 251) and “Chocolate Basil Brownies” (page 86).

What an amazing recipe book! I love baking, and cookies are my go-to, and this features a diverse amount of recipes to suit my palette and time. It’s one I am going to recommend to friends and family, and it is going to make a fabulous Christmas gift this season!

Wonderful book with loads of creative cookie recipes. There are plenty of variations and loads of instructions. A section at the beginning of the book gives an introduction to cookie making and some general advice on what to bear in mind when baking and preparing. The pictures are gorgeous and I can’t wait to try more of the recipes.

I'm a maximalist kind of person. Going into this book looking for inspiration, and seeing the pretty albeit "clean" layout, I was a bit turned off at first... or rather bored. Chocolate chip cookies, snickerdoodles, brownies - all stuff one might as well find recipes for online, embellished with overstuffed food-styling photos that make your mouth water. It's not until later on in this cookbook that, chapter by chapter, you level up from the very basics you will always have ingredients for in your pantry and unlock the over-the-top fancy stuff you want to truly taste test. Those Neapolitan cookies? I'm absolutely trying that recipe out.

I look forward to buying 100 Cookies by Sarah Kieffer as her cookie cookbook is well-written with plenty of color photos. I loved her recipes and I loved how she included both cups and measures and metric measurements. As I have started using a scale for baking, as weighing ingredients is easier and more accurate, I am on the hunt to buy cookbooks that have this feature.

I also loved her recipes and can't wait to have a baking session to try out some of her recipes. Some of the recipes I may try include:

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
Brown Sugar Cookies
My Favorite Brownies
Cakey Brownies (I love brownies in case you can't tell)
Olive Oil Sugar Cookies with Blood Orange Glaze
Black and White Cheesecake Bars

Recommend.

That's a lot of cookies!
Though the book doesn't just include the basic cookies, but also brownies, macarons, bars, other types of biscuit such as shortbread...
There's a great range of recipes with different levels of difficulty. Some could easily be summed up as variantions of each other, but "82 cookies" just doesn't sound as good.
If you are not trying to reduce your sugar intake, then this is a great book to get and try out!

What to do during a global pandemic?

Make and eat cookies...tons of cookies. This book is full of glorious photographs and has recipes for bakers of all skill levels.

I made the Lemon Sugar Cookies this morning and my family hit them like a tornado. I am actually relieved because they are way too good to have on the counter.

Some others I am looking forward to trying?

Ginger Cookies with Salted Caramel Ice Cream
Orange Almond Shortbread Cookies
French Meringues
Lavender Cookies with White Chocolate

I am not a huge chocolate fan but there are plenty of recipes in here for those who are!

Thank you to Sarah Kieffer, Chronicle Books, and NetGalley for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is an amazing cookie book! It rivals my old Betty Crocker "The Cooky Book" but with an updated and prettier twist!

The author is the inventor of "panbanging" which is when you bang your cookie sheet at different intervals or at the end of baking a cookie, in order to achieve a ripple on the cookie leading to crisp edges and a chewy center. I fully believe in this method!

There are truly 100 recipes for different style cookies, from large cookie sheet drop cookies, to bar cookies, to many inventive twists to old favorites.

I highly recommend this book as an addition to anyone's baking repertoire. It would make an excellent gift book as well.

I received a free digital ARC as a reviewer for NetGalley.

4 ++ stars.
This is actually more than just a cookbook of cookie recipes as there are also recipes for many other baked treats included and like the title suggests: brownies, bars, etc......which from my point of view is a win-win scenario.

I received a pdf copy of this from Netgalley to review....so unlike cookbooks that I can read on my kindle or phone I was forced to sit at my desktop to peruse and therefore I didn't necessarily read the recipes with the same attention I usually give a cookbook....however I did enjoy the layout and beautiful photographs a lot (this woman is a blogger so no disappointments on that score).
All recipes were explained well with easily accessible ingredients and I enjoyed all the author's personal comments that preceded her recipes.

3 recipes that I instantly wanted to try were the :
Neapolitan Cookies, Caramel Bars with Candied Peanuts and the Rum Raisin Cookies.

I do think that is a cookbook that I would genuinely enjoy having my own personal copy of and I do see myself using it also.

Oh, my goodness. This book is simply amazing. I am going to have to buy the hardcopy as soon as it comes out, and not just for a library, but for myself. The recipes are wonderful, the quotes are delightful, the stories are a joy to read, and the playlist is great for inspiration as you bake. I also like the sections that include the extras that she used and made in the recipes such as the shards, and the measurement conversions, in the back. There are some beautiful cookies that I cannot wait to try such as the lavender cookies. That is another thing, there are pictures for just about every single recipe. That is important to me as I love to see the result, and it adds to the fun. I also loved the Let's Play section, because that is right up my alley. This book is more than just a cookbook about cookies. It is a journey, and I loved every minute. Thank you to the author, the publisher, and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Chronicle Books for sending me a free ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love reviewing cookbooks! It’s always so exciting to try new things, and cookbooks help me stay on track to meet my goal of 52 new recipes each year. Now, with my state’s mandatory stay-at-home order during COVID-19, it’s the perfect time to try out some new recipes. Besides, who doesn’t love a cookie?

100 Cookies is a delicious cookbook that covers all sorts of cookies, from traditional Soft Chocolate Chip and classic Fudgy Brownie to the extravagant Red Wine Cherry Cheesecake Swirl Bars and decadent Ginger Cookies with Salted Caramel Ice Cream. There are 100 recipes (each cookie is numbered, for your convenience), but counting each listed variation and the “Extras” needed (such as lemon curd), there are considerably more recipes to try out.

This book was clearly well thought out and a lot of time was spent on it. Each recipe includes: a photo, author notes (I always appreciate their reasons behind a recipe), title, approximate yield, ingredients/recipes used, and step-by-step instructions. One of my favorite parts, though, is how nearly everything is made from scratch. Does a recipe call for caramel? You can make it at home! Need marshmallows or lemon curd? Try homemade! If you’re running short on time, you can of course substitute store bought, but I appreciate this extra step.

Now, what you’ve probably been waiting for: how can I recommend a cookbook without also trying at least some of the recipes? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered - although I must mention that during my state’s current stay-at-home measures I was limited to recipes with ingredients I already had on hand. So far I’ve tried four of the recipes in 100 Cookies:

1. Chocolate Sugar Cookies: 4/5. These were quite tasty and different - I can’t say I’ve ever tried a chocolate sugar cookie before! I did use dark chocolate unsweetened cocoa powder (most recipes call for just regular unsweetened) and the batter ended up being quite dry. I added the dry mix by the spoonful to my mixer and used the start/stop method to incorporate, but I still ended up with flour and cocoa powder all over my kitchen.

2. Cardamon Chocolate Sugar Cookies (a variation of the Chocolate Sugar Cookies): 3/5. While they smelled fantastic, I don’t think I was able to taste the cardamom but the cookies were definitely less sweet than the regular chocolate versions. Next time, I might try this variation with regular sugar cookies.

3. Snickerdoodles: 5/5. This is perhaps the best snickerdoodle recipe I’ve ever tried - these were AMAZING. For all you cookie dough lovers out there, this cookie dough is also incredible (and I’m sharing this as a diehard chocolate chip fan).

4. Pumpkin Buttercream (used for Snickerdoodle Sandwich Cookies): 5/5. To be honest, the snickerdoodle cookies did not last long enough for the frosting to be made. So, instead of making sandwich cookies I frosted one cookie. On it’s own the pumpkin buttercream is delicious (and would probably be a great frosting for brownies), but I don’t know if it was my favorite thing to be paired with a snickerdoodle.

Once I'm able to get more supplies, I'm looking forward to working my way through even more of the recipes in this cookbook.

Also included in 100 Cookies are some helpful extras: a how to use this book, general baking advice, important notes (such as how she measures flour for her recipes), cookie baking tips, specific baking ingredients and reasons for using them (such as she uses unsalted butter unless otherwise noted and why), baking equipment used, music to bake to (who doesn’t enjoy finding new tunes?), common conversions, a bibliography, and additional resources (such as Penzey’s Spices and places to search for bakeware).

One final note: before receiving an ARC copy of this book, I was unfamiliar with both the author and her baking blog. I'm glad to have discovered it! Thank you again to NetGalley and Chronicle Books for the privilege of reviewing an ARC.

Well, I know what I'm getting all of my baking friends this year! This book has it all! I love the way this book develops as you go. She starts off with the basic building tools and ingredients, then cookies, then brownies, then fruit additions. Her big finale, is her time to play chapter. I've always been intimidated by macarons and have thrown away plenty of batches, but her recipe sounds promising and will be the first one I try out of this whole book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review this book.

As an avid baker and cook book enthusiast, I was really excited to receive this ARC. I love to actually read cookbooks before making any of the recipes and I found this book to be easy to read through. The recipes are clearly written and easy to follow. I've made 4 of the recipes so far and each has been straight forward with great results. I really like the photos in this book as well. To me that is always one of the highlights of a cookbook! It was particularly nice to have my finished product come out looking like the cookies shown in the book. This is a great cookie cookbook for someone who wants straight forward, standard recipes along with some really fun variations. I am definitely considering adding this to my permanent collection once it is released and would recommend it to friends who are looking for a good cookie cookbook!

After making the Lemon Sugar Cookies, I'm hooked! Kieffer's technique of 'banging the pan' to create a rippled outer edge while leaving the soft cookie center is brilliant. I'll be recommending this book to bakers and anyone who wants to make delicious cookies and squares.

First of all, the photos in this book are AMAZING. They had me drooling over every single recipe and made picking just one to start with nearly impossible. I made the snickerdoodle crinkle cookie recipe and while I'm sure my neighbors now think I'm abusing my oven, I loved creating those ripples in the cookies by banging the pan.

I also appreciated that the weighs for the ingredients are included. I tend to run on the assumption that 1 cup of flour is 125 gram so knowing that this book considers it to be much higher was definitely helpful while baking!

What is there not to love about a cookie/brownie/bar cookbook?

There are recipes to suit a variety of palettes, budgets and skill levels. The photography is excellent.

A lovely collection of cookie recipes and bakes. Beautifully illustrated which is absolutely key to making this kind of book appealing. You will be drooling once you open it and the hardest decision will be what to make first. The recipes are easy to follow and great that there are measurements in grams as well as cups.. It is a very well thought out book, and one that you would choose over and above many of the other cookie recipe books on the market.

I really enjoy this cookbook and look forward to making many cookies! I absolutely love the pictures so you can be influenced by what cookie you’re in the mood for. And I love the large variety of cookies provided.

Gorgeous book packed from cover to cover with cookie recipes! The photos are stunning and will make you want to bake every recipe in this book!

This book includes recipes for classic cookies, brownie variations and novelty cookies/dessert bars. One of the best features is the "Extras" section. where you can learn to create some of the baking essentials such as pie dough, pastry cream and caramel.

I can't wait to start baking! So many of these recipes I want to try! This would be a fantastic book to give as a gift for a bridal shower or just because.

This cookie & brownie cookbook is the absolute perfect present for a loved one who is passionate about baking, as well as someone you don't know well but need to give them an impressive gift. Look no further, this is it.

Is there anything more visually pleasing than close-ups of baked goods? I don't think so. On top of that, the recipes are actually doable - clear instructions laid out neatly in a step-by-step format ensure success in baking, particularly as the opening pages contain very specific definitions/specifications of each term and ingredient.

I have to give the author a credit for inserting photographs of the majority products of her recipes. There's nothing that drives a reader of a cookbook nuts more than recipes without a picture to go with it, so you have no clue what you're trying to actually create. Unfortunately, though, not ALL of the recipes are accompanied by a photograph, and that's a slight disappointment to me.

Fortunately, the author makes up for it with the unusual and very creative chapters of Fruit-Extravaganza and The Next Level as unique recipes which is always what you look for in a specialized cookbook. White chocolate, rosemary and apricot cookies? Lavender cookies? Espresso cheesecake bars? Gosh, I can't wait to make so many of them.

I tried the most basic recipe, the Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies, and they are delicious. Based on that, I cannot wait to try some of the more advanced stuff. The recipes are well structured, and include measurement in weird american units, as well as grams, so everyone can easily bake them.

Indeed, there are 100 recipes (and some recipes include variations), but while they are not all cookie recipes, they are all for desserts. Instead, blogger Sarah Kieffer divvies her recipes up into these chapter categories: The Classics, Brownies + Blondies, Fruitextravaganza, The Next Level, Time to Play, Pan-Banging Cookies, Mix and Match, and Extras. The majority of the recipes are for cookies from the classics like chocolate cookies to more complicated macrons. There are some candy recipes, different fillings for sandwich cookies, ice cream, various (and seriously delicious-looking) bars, and more. There is a mix of familiar recipes and recipes that are unique to Kieffer-- however the difficulty of those recipes is beyond the average baker.

The recipes provide metric and American standard measuring side-by-side, but the biggest disappointment is that the instructions don't start the next step on a new line. Instead Step #2 runs right after Step #1. That is not easy reading when you are constantly going back and forth between the page and your ingredients. There is an index included.

Unless your library has devoted fans of this blogger, I would view it as an extraneous purchase.

This is a cookbook you're going to want to have close by! The recipes are mouthwatering and the photos are beautiful. I highly recommend this incredible resource to anyone who loves cookies!

Hi everyone!

I'm in self-isolation, so I was looking for some recipes to make and this caught my eye... I'm not really into cakes but I L O V E cookies, so this seemed the perfect book at the perfect time, and then it turned out I was right!

I haven't tried many of the recipes yet, but for the sake of this review, I wanted to test the most basic cookies: chocolate chip cookies and snickerdoodles.
To my happy surprise, there were different types of choco chips cookies: soft, brown butter (the ones I tried), thin and double chocolate.
The recipes were easy to follow and the cookies were so DELICIOUS and I nearly ate them all.

The book is also full of pictures of every single recipe (which I love) and the images are so yummy and aesthetically pleasant (I wish I could share them with you)(and I might buy the physical copy of this book)!

Now let's talk about some more technical stuff about the book, there are 8 chapters (with some examples):
- classics: chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, etc.
- brownies; even white chocolate red velvet and chocolate basil ones.
- fruitextravaganza: like banana poppy seed cookies
- the next level: lavender cookies and meringues
- time to play: macarons and caramel bars with peanuts
- pan- banging cookies (for people who love those melted on the pan cookies)
- mix and match: creams and ice cream combos
- extras: some basics like ice cream and lemon curd

But that's not everything, in fact, at the end of these chapters, there are also some recommendations for music you can bake to.

I don't think that I need to say anything else, this cookie recipe book is perfect: it has both delicious recipes and pretty pictures and design... so, if you need some new recipes or inspiration, I definitely recommend this one!

The title of this book really doesn't do justice to the wide range of baked goods it covers, not just standard cookies but French favourites too.

I am particularly intrigued by the author's invention of ripple cookies - made by slamming the baking tray down hard! It's the type of cookbook that you can dip into time and again. Thinking of something lemony, or chocolate-y or gingery? You'll find it all there

The recipes are both classic and a fresh take on old favorites. I can't wait to make the brownies and banana cream pie bars. I recommend this book.

I can't wait to get that book in my hands to bake each and every one of those cookies. The recipes look easy enough and good tips and information is provided. That book will be a keeper for sure! As an avid baker, I will definitely want that book to be part of my personal library of baking books.

I am loving this cookbook and am very excited to get my hands on a paper copy! Every recipe we have tried has been delicious and the pictures are gorgeous. This will make a fantastic gift and is going to definitely be well loved in our cookie baking house!

This book is a fun read and has beautiful pictures. However, for a book titled "100 Cookies" that claims to be for "every kitchen", I found it weird that it didn't have a single vegan or gluten-free cookie. As someone with dietary restrictions, I doubt it'll be my go-to baking book, but I'm sure it'll be plenty useful to most other baking enthusiasts out there!

Loved this little cookbook. While I wouldn’t recommend it for my classroom, I will be using recipes from here often. Thanks to the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Definitely the best cookie book I've seen! This is a must-have and I can't wait to have the printed copy in hands! There's a lot of great cookie recipes but there's also recipes for brownies, bars, and even marshmallow recipe! This book is awesome!

I loved this book of cookies! It has so many that I'm eager to try. The pictures were captivating and hungry for something. The descriptions and explanations at the beginning of the book are extremely helpful. It was easy to read through prior to starting my baking adventure. I'm looking forward to adding this one to my collection of cookbooks and trying more of the recipes. A wonderful cookbook to have for cookie ideas!

There are actually 100 cookie and cookie adjacent recipes in this cookbook. There are all the classics as well as some trendy ones. There were only a few that did not really seem appetizing, but that's me. It was beautiful and informative. There are tips for each recipe and ingredients are listed in both cups and grams and such. The quotes throughout are a nice touch though not really related to baking. The baking playlist of albums at the end is a nice touch. Overall, it is great and I would love to try several of these cookies.

Great cookie cookbook with all the classic cookie recipes like chocolate chip, ginger molasses, snickerdoodle (my favorite), chocolate crinkle, etc. It also has a lot of fancier cookies and more unique recipes. The recipes are easy to follow and the photos in the book are great! This book would be a great gifting book and a book to have on hand to make all the cookie recipes.

This is a fantastic cookbook for those who love to bake yummy treats! It is helpful that the ingredients are listed in order of use. The pictures definitely tempt you to bake everything in the book.
I was able to make the soft chocolate chip cookies, brownie cookies, and blondies. They were all delicious! I think the blondies are my absolute favorite! The directions were fairly simple to follow. However, I wish there were a few more numbers to break up multiple steps. I love that the author added a personal touch to this cookbook by adding a section with music to bake to. This is a great book to add to any baker’s collection.

I am a sucker for baking on my days off from my crazy work life. If you're looking to eat some feelings, especially during a pandemic, look no further than 100 Cookies. I love that Sarah Kieffer showcased such a wide variety of recipes in this book - from tried and true classics like chocolate chip cookies and brownies to fun twists like sandwich cookies, bars, macarons and even ice cream cookies. The book is well organized and the recipes are super easy to follow with not just your typical chocolate ingredients but spices, fruits and creative flavors as well. I am in now way a Food Network worthy baker so I always appreciate when cookbooks feature recipes that are easily replicated and don't require a million ingredients that need hunted down at specialty food stores. My favorite so far has been the Lemon Sugar Cookie recipe which is just a sweet and sour little taste of heaven in my kitchen. Counting down the days until my next day off so I can whip up another sweet treat!

I love to bake, so I found this book full of great ideas and it has a variety of cookies, brownies, bars etc...

The instructions are well written and easy to follow. The pages look great and everything sounds amazing! I can’t wait to start making some of these.

I like that there’s all sorts of different cookies and it’s not just the ones you find at grocery stores. The variety is great and I love that it’s not all about cookies.

This is a great cookbook for beginner cooks that covers many basic cookies. Chapters on all your favorite types, including Classic cookies, brownies, Fruit cookies, fancy and a chapter called mix and match that has some great combos. There are also helpful hints on pie dough, brown butter, ice cream, and more. The photos are beautiful for each recipe. The measurements are for both US and European. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

100 Cookies The Baking Book for Every Kitchen, with Classic Cookies, Novel Treats, Brownies, Bars, and More by Sarah Kieffer
Love to bake and experiment. Book starts with dedication page.
Table of contents where recipes have their own chapter and are broken up into type of cookie they are.
Intro talks about how the author as a child started baking. She like me love the process.
Author shares other secrets and tips she's learned along the way and important things like equipment used.
Each recipe starts with a summary of the cookie, title. To left is listed: ingredients in American and UK measurements, Preset oven is listed in directions on how to make and bake.
Photos: I am not seeing any pictures in the book, must be very high pixel and my tablet is just a year old.
There is NO nutritional information. You can find most of these in a regular ebook as recipes are basically the same.
Didn't see anything new from my own collection.
Received this review copy from Chronicle Books via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Okay this book made me hungry. The pictures were amazing and I liked the tips and tricks listed throughout. I showed my family a few and they basically started drooling and are now begging for treats. I think I'll start with the brownies because they looked so amazing!

Usually a cake or bread baker by nature, cookies admittedly come third in my choice of baking, so I must admit that this book really got me excited to start baking cookies again. The cover of this book is not only enticing in showing off these delicious looking cookies, but also intriguing enough to make me want to open the pages and read more.

I thought that the range of choice of cookies in this book was really good and I liked the way it was categorised into sections such as: classic cookies, brownies and blondies, fruitextravanganza, pan-banging and extras. The extras included marshmallow fluff, caramel shards and the no-churn ice-cream which turns your ordinary cookie into an amazing delight!

One recipe that caught my attention was the Red Wine Cherry Cheesecake Swirl Bars. To me it would be fancy enough for any occasion and relatively easy to make.

The only downside really to this book is that the recipe method, though numbered, was in paragraph form. I think that this may be confusing for an amateur baker to follow when referring back to the recipe while baking. Despite this, I would still recommend this book to bakers of all levels.

Overall, I would definitely buy this book and am looking forward to trying the Rocky Road Brownie recipe and one of the famous pan-banging recipes.

4 out of 5 Stars.

100 Cookies by Sarah Kieffer is exactly as the title suggests - The Baking Book for Every Kitchen. I will admit I adore cookies. I make thousands of them for the holidays because all of my family and friends want them. Therefore I am drawn to cookbooks that center on cookie recipes.
This book is chock a block full of wonderful information! While the author suggests that the reader/baker have basic baking skills, she carefully explains all you need to know. There are 8 Chapters filled with classic cookies, brownies and blondies, pan cookies, fruit and mix and match cookies. There is every recipe you could want. Every recipe tells you how many cookies in a batch, little baking tips, ingredients either in US standard measuring as well as weight. The instructions are clear and the photographs are absolutely delicious. At the end of the book is a music playlist to use while you are baking.
This book is extremely well done. Got to go. I need to go and bake some of these cookies.
I would like to thank the publisher, author and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Lately, I really enjoy these kind of books. As we are most of the time closed in the house it happens I decide to cook or bake something I never did before. This is the case, I am used to bake cakes but I never baked cookies.
What I loved of this book are three things in particular. The introduction where the author not only shares with the readers her passion for baking cookies and how all it started but gives some important tips to the newbies like me. The second thing I really appreciate is how is divided the book. I started baking some classic cookies as it was my first time but soon I will go wild and bake the others more complex types. Thanks to the table of contents it is really easy to decide what to bake and find the exact page. The third things I loved about this book is the chapter about the music! :D I never saw it before and I found it extremely innovative and lovely even more when you are baking with someone else. I also love that there are pictures so you can have an idea of how it should look like at the end.

There are some very interesting recipes in this book! The organization looks really good. I love the large, color photo of each different type of cookie. It makes browsing in search of something new much easier. What really stuck out to me was the approximation of how many cookies each batch would make. I'm an "empty nester" and I don't need to make huge batches of cookies until we get closer to Christmas. So that is a Godsend to me.

This book is fantastic. All the recipies seem simple and easy to make. There are no weird ingredients. There are also plenty of ideas for a cookie or brownie swap, birthday parties, bbq, etc. I made the chocolate sugar cookies and they were moist and tasted heavenly. Although it would make a great addition to a library for a beginning cook, an experienced cook probably has their tried and true version of the classics.

First of all, a great book cover! There are many classic cookie recipes inside, but to me, the treasures are the less traditional recipe gems! I can’t wait to give some of the recipes a try, and will likely purchase the book for myself or a friend when it's in stores.

100 Cookies is a Baking Book that should be on every baker's shelf. I was left salivating at the end of the book. There are so many great and unique recipes coupled with such aesthetic pictures. I've noted down a few recipes that I plan on trying out. Absolutely great book!

There were a lot of things I liked about this cookbook. Kieffer's Introduction makes you feel like you know her. The pictures that accompany the recipes are drool-worthy. She talks about techniques that I haven't heard of before like egg wash, tapping the pan against the oven rack to give cookies a nice edge, and banging the pan repeatedly to give ripply edges. I also loved all the literary quotes and unique recipes, such as homemade marshmallows.

I tried two of her recipes, "Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies" and "My Favorite Brownies." Both the cookies and brownies were good, but my family feels we've made others that were better.. I think of myself as a good baker, but I found many of the recipes too fussy for me, or they required ingredients, like hazelnut flour, that I am not likely to go out and buy. .

With COVID-19 causing a global pandemic in early 2020, many families are isolated at home. Some are luckier than others, with work arrangements taken care of or modified and no children or study commitments. Others however, are not. With Australian’s running for the baking aisles of supermarkets like it’s doomsday, people all over the country were eager to stay occupied and turn into baking kings and queens. I was lucky enough to already have a pantry stocked of baking supplies so with this book in hand it was cookie-bonanza for a week in my house.

“Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies” (picture included on my blog of cookies)
Firstly, the information outlined at the start of the book defining terminology, measurements, and equipment needed was fantastic. I have a small baking background (but nothing fancy) and some things are “common knowledge” to me, but I realised this is not the case for everyone, particular first time bakers. But even I learned something new from these first few pages! In particular the egg wash recipe is something I will keep on hand for future reference as i’ve never found one that was sufficient!

So with my pantry full, and book in hand I attempted some recipes. I can happily say the soft chocolate chip cookies turned out amazingly and I cannot stop going back for more! (nor can the rest of the household). I should note, that I used a low-fodmap flour in substitute for the all-purpose flour but this did not affect the outcome of the cookies. A picture of my end result is included on my blog.

Additionally, the pictures! WOW! After viewing each picture I continue to think that I cannot be more impressed but I am! I also wonder if any baking was done when these pictures were taken, they are eerily clean working areas. I did not make my way through trying every recipe personally before posting this review as I don’t have *that* much sugar on hand but I certainly will look forward to revisiting this book in the future.

These recipes are perfect for a weekend treat, baking day with the kids, or to take something special to an event. Actually, literally any reason you need a sweet treat, this book is for that. It replaces every other baking book in the kitchen!

Thank you Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

If you are tired of making the small store-bought cookies, eating Oreos, and not trying cookies outside your comfort zone, this book is for those people who love eating cookies and making them. Wow, this has to be the most beautiful cookbook I've ever seen! The photos alone make this a worthy read.

The recipes range from classic cookies, via bars to ''elevated'' cookies with untraditional tastes, sprinkled with some whoopie pies as a bonus. There are so many droolworthy recipes in here I want to try out, I can't choose.

Would definitely recommend this to anyone!

We've tried a couple of these recipes now and really like them! It's a fun and cute little cookbook!

I basically want to make every single recipe in this book. Traditional standards to new twists on those classics (chocolate sugar cookies! banana poppy seed cookies!) to totally new ideas (raspberry rye cookies! toasted sesame cookies!). Pan-banging cookies! Bars and cookie sandwiches and everything in between. We're currently working (quickly) through a pan of blondies. I'm not sure what we'll try next but I'm sure it'll be delicious. Torn between the turtle brownies or ginger molasses pan-banging cookies. The recipes are easy to follow, and though I haven't yet attempted the macarons, the tone of the book gives me confidence that I'd at least wind up with something edible - even tasty. A welcome addition to my cookbook shelf.

As an avid cookie baker, I am always on the lookout for new cookie cookbooks. I am not, however, a fan of Instagram or food blogs, so I was unfamiliar with the author. I am very glad that she has made the transition from online to print, because this book is a delight!

Filled with luscious recipes that range from old favorites to brand new flavor combinations and techniques, there is something here for the novice to the experienced baker. Kieffer comes across as chatty, witty, and just plain fun. She doesn't take herself super-seriously, which is a flaw in most food bloggers and Instagrammers, and she approaches baking with precision blended with a heady dose of risk-taking.

I always appreciate a book that blends sumptuous recipes with an intelligent introduction and commentary that carries throughout the book. Kieffer's fondness for Shakespeare is apparent in the generous sprinkling of quotes throughout, making the book fun to read.

I don;t buy many cookbooks in print anymore, but I will be buying this one, along with a couple copies for family & friend bakers.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.

Wow! The photographs of the cookies in this book make you want to try every recipe or at least taste every cookie! As I read this book, it was obvious to me that the author was from Minnesota. That alone made me optimistic as I know that Minnesota produces some great bakers. I recognized that I had once read an article in a local paper about the phenomenon of ‘pan banging’ during the baking process. Although I thought it unusual, I was eager to read this author’s explanation of that technique. To my delight, the author did an excellent job of explaining why and how ‘pan banging’ worked to make cookies crispy on the outside while chewy in the middle at the same time.

Each recipe has ingredients that are easily found in your pantry or on your grocer’s shelves. The recipes are clearly written and the results seem to be consistent if you follow the author’s directions. I had high expectations for this book and it did not disappoint. I cannot wait to try many of these recipes.

As a cookbook collector, this book deserves a place in my library.
Maybe it belongs in yours as well.

I love a good baking book. And what's more? Cookies are kind of my thing. I had heard of this 'pan-banging cookie' briefly and was delighted to see it featured here in 100 Cookies. The formatting of the recipes are easy to read, easy to follow, and a bit more stylized than what we've seen in the past. All of the photo's are beautifully edited and plentiful in number which is always a plus. There's something about knowing what it should look like versus what it ends up like in your kitchen that adds to the fun! To top it off, the music playlist included at the end was a personal touch that not many authors would think of. I can't wait to dive in deeper and start experimenting with more of these recipes! 100 Cookies will definitely be on your 'gift idea' list this holiday season!

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

THIS. BOOK.
This is the book I will give to my daughter. And son. They will both love it.
But what they will especially love will be the delicious cookies they will make from it.

The book covers all the classic cookies that you enjoyed as a child (ok, as a grown-up, too), ever purchased at a bake sale, or brought home from the cookie exchange and it gives you the recipes for them. And then it gives you more ... MUCH more.

After an introductory chapter introducing the author, the baking essentials, and ingredients, the book is divided into sections. The first section covers the classic cookie recipes. I immediately made the chocolate chip cookie recipe and they were a hit! The remaining sections of the book cover different kinds of brownies, blondies, fruit-based cookies, international classics, and next level, creative, and "artisan-style" confections. If cookies aren't enough, there are also recipes for homemade marshmallow fluff, ice cream, and lemon curd. And finally, the author includes a music guide to enjoy while baking with links to playlists on Spotify and Apple music. So while you are trying your hand at making the fabulous olive oil sugar cookies with blood orange glace, you can have your own sound track to groove along with.

With this book, you can be the cookie queen. Or king. Your choice.

Most definitely five stars!

Apparently I am the only person bothered by the fact that "100 Cookies" does not have 100 cookie recipes. It has bar recipes as well as ice cream recipes. That is of course fine in a book of an alternate title. The recipes are good enough, but I have trouble getting past the promise of 100 cookies.

I have very few cookbooks since I find most of my recipes online, but I plan on purchasing a copy of this one. I made a couple of cookies from this book, chewy chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin, and they were delicious. I love how this book is filled with all the normal cookie variations with several unique ones as well. I’d like to eventually try making every cookie in the book. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes to bake and it would make a great gift as well.

Thanks to my mom who always gave me free rein in the kitchen from a young age, I developed an enjoyment of cooking and especially baking. I requested an advanced copy of this book, because cookies and bars are my favorite type of baked treats. And then cake. From scratch

Since this was an ARC, I decided I would read this book thoroughly which is something I never do with cookbooks. I usually go straight to the recipes and decide which ones I would like to try first. I had fun reading the intro and the baking "helps." The author's anecdotes were entertaining and she had a number of suggestions that I had never tried or were aware of.

As for the actual recipes, I officially tried four of them. My favorite being a peanut butter chocolate ganache brownie (don't remember the actual name.) My family loved them and I was in love with the actual brownie base - perfect texture and taste. This was the author's original and perfected brownie recipe and I have to agree. I'm not a fan of plain brownies, but these were amazing all on their own. I'll be using this brownie recipe from here on out. Interestingly enough, her basic chocolate chip cookie wasn't my favorite. CC cookies are my favorite and there are many different recipes out there. This author's wasn't my favorite, but that's all personal taste. In the end, I was happy with this cookbook and I'm looking forward to trying some of her unique recipe combinations.

These recipes gives us a new technique when baking cookies showing us how to creating soft centers, but get crispy edges. They look yummy! There are some classic recipes and other interesting flavors too. Some recipes are for soft chocolate chip cookies, thin and crispy double chocolate cookies, fudgy brownies, lemon sugar cookies, toasted sesame cookies, snickerdoodle cookies with pumpkin buttercream and raspberry rye cookies. If you are wondering about the difficulty of the recipes they are well written and easy to follow for all level of baker. I enjoy the ideas of making sandwich cookies and other ideas provided in this book too. The cookbook could be better formatted though as sometimes it was difficult keeping track of where recipes started and finished, but if you are careful you’d figure it out. It does have TONS of pictures, which is very nice. You really get a good look at the cookies and other treats you are going to want to make. It really makes you want to make the ALL!!

I stayed basic with my attempts from the book and found the results to be wonderful. My decision to stick with simple recipes has more to do with my energy level than the recipes themselves. Each recipe, even the ones I looked over but didn't make, were straightforward in their presentation. As an experienced amateur cook (in other words, someone who is older and spent most of his life fixing his own meals) I feel comfortable tackling any recipe in the book. None were either too daunting or too poorly explained.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone who has a bit of a sweet tooth but hates to pay store prices for mediocre quality snacks. By making them yourself you know what is in there and, as you experiment, you can adjust recipes to suit your tastes.

So much YUM in one book! Lots of delicious recipes with pictures, which is always a plus to me! How I’ve never made Blondies is beyond me but now I have a delicious recipe and will be making them all the time.

An amazing books filled with cookie recipes! As someone who bakes a small repertoire of cookies, it is awesome to see the variety in this book and I look forward to challenging myself with more fancy cookies! I also adore the last section with some very handy hacks (like making your own whipped cream and caramel shards).

This cookbook is a must have for cookie lovers! There are, obviously, cookies for all different tastes and the directions are clear and concise. I love that this cookie book is very up-to-date, even including recipes for Pan-Banged Cookies, a new-ish trend in cookie baking.

There is also a good range of difficulty in this book for both beginner and advanced bakers. I especially loved that the recipes include both weight and measures for the ingredients. So nice to have the option based on your preference.

And this book also has gorgeous photos to go along with the recipes. If you love cookies, like I do, you'll love this book!

This Gem is a cookie lover's dream come true!! It has all your favorites and then some, all in one beautifully photographed, well-written cookie book that you will reach for constantly!! I LOVED this book, I am a cookie fanatic and this book did NOT disappoint! You have your classics, Novel Treats, Brownies, Bar Cookies, Pan Banging cookies, and Sandwich cookies! 100 Cookies was fantastic and the only disappointment is that the recipes were so good, they came to an end all too quickly!

What an amazing cookbook! I have been looking for a comprehensive cookie baking book and this is it. Amazing pictures, delish recipes and on that subject very easy and informative to follow.

I will be purchasing a copy of this cookbook when it is released.

Some very original recipes that I am so happy to have made! This is definitely a keeper, and both new and practiced bakers alike can use it. I'm glad I was able to get an ARC during Shelter-In-Place times specifically, it definitely made life sweeter. I liked how the chapters were divided. My favorite thing I made was the peanut butter & marshmallow brownies!

A great addition to any recipe book library.

I love making and eating cookies, and so I was excited to see a book titled "100 Cookies." Even better, it was by Sarah Kieffer, of pan-banging cookies fame. I hadn't made her pan-banging cookies before this, but I was excited to have an excuse to try them.

In fact, Kieffer has an entire chapter devoted to pan-banging cookies. I tried the pan-banged classic chocolate chip cookies; definitely good, but best on the first day.

This cookbook had a ridiculous number of recipes I wanted to try. I ended up trying 5 before writing this review. Her regular chewy chocolate chip cookies were delicious. Her favorite brownies are as good as my favorite, although my favorite has fewer steps. She has cinnamon roll blondies (also good, made with browned butter blondie batter!). I also tried out Neapolitan cookies, which were another recipe I'd never seen.

I didn't try out more complicated recipes for bar cookies, because I'm in an easy-baking stage of my life. Every recipe I tried turned out perfectly. They were all delicious. Her brownie and blondie recipes took 30 minutes to bake in my oven, rather than the minimum 25 minutes that Kieffer lists. That's not a problem, and may be changed by the time the book is published. That's also normal oven variation, Kieffer also tells you what visual clues you should follow for cookie doneness, so you shouldn't have issues.

One thing I loved about this book - ingredients are listed with both weight and volume measurements. I measure by weight, and was glad to not have to do this conversion in my head.

Overall, this is a great cookie cookbook, definitely worth checking out.

I received a free digital copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

Great collection of recipes! I need to buy a copy of this book to keep in the kitchen. I've enjoyed everything I've tried. The recipes are well-written, easy to follow, and use everyday ingredients.

100 Cookies consists of more than your typical cookie, but includes other handheld goodies like brownies, blondies, and bars. What this is lacking though are even a few options for those with dietary restrictions. The book's introduction covers the usual background, tools, and tips you'll find in most cookbooks. Due to difficulty in obtaining some of the ingredients due to the pandemic, I didn't get to try baking many of these, but those I did make were delicious. I don't have a stand mixer as it's suggested so they would probably taste even better if mixed that way. I stuck to the classics: Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies, Peanut Butter Cookies, My Favorite Brownies, and Blondies. The recipes were easy to follow and when the classics are done well I trust the specialty recipes will be just as good. For those who prefer to use grams when baking, this book offers cup & gram measurements and Fahrenheit & Celcius temperatures. I will certainly be buying a copy once this is on sale and would probably gift it to a few of the bakers in my life, as well.

A great assortment of delicious cookies and baked treats. Everyone has their favorite cookie, but with 100 to choose from, it made me want to add some new ones to my repertoire. Quarantine has us like WOAH and doing lots of baking! Can’t wait to try out all the recipes. Some are twists on traditional favorites while others are new to me!

Being under quarantine for months on end, this cookie baking book was an obvious hit for me and my Quarantine Squad to combat anxieties, cure a pinging sweet tooth, or just plain stuff your annoying housemate’s pie-hole with something so chewy, you’ll be able to get the sweet sound of silent relief for at least 24 seconds.
We haven’t tried all of the recipes, but we are excited to try them when the hankering for mass quantities of sugar hits! We’re always looking for a new chocolate chip cookie recipe, and this cook book really offers a selection for those who favor chewy, gooey, or crunchy to your hearts, and blood sugar’s, delight!

This is a great cookie filled with old favourites and new takes on the delicious cookie. It also contains recipes for other related foods like ice cream and brownies. The eARC copy I received had a lot of blank pages where I assume photos would go, so it was hard to see exactly how the finished book would look.
Recipes are easy to use and most recipes don't contain any less common ingredients.
An enjoyable cookbook for any cookie fans out there.
Thanks to Netgalley.com and Chronicle books for this eARC copy.

decent selection of classics, variations and some new ones to those wanting to make a variety of cookies. Recipes seems easy enough to understand.

While being stuck at home I was happy to get a early copy of this book to help make some baked goods. I really appreaciated the variety of baked goods especially the amount of brownies (since those are my favorites). I liked all the extras included such as the ice cream recipe to really elevate your cookies. I really appreacited the pictures of each treat to help you compare if you did it correctly. I made the pan banging Chocolate Chip cookies and they were delicious and huge!!! The recipe was easy to follow and I appreciate that the measurements were also in grams. I also appreciate that most of the recipes were pretty short. My one complaint is that how many servings of each treat was initially hard to find but once you knew where to look it was okay. Also there was no overall baking time anywhere which I always appreciate to at least give me an initial estimate of how much time I need to set aside.

5 STARS, munching on cookies ★★★★★
This book is for… both those who seek the easy but enchanting and those in the mood for some extravaganza.

⤐ Overall.
I only requested this because all the isolation got me into the mood for baking. 100 cookies sure kept me occupied during all the evenings I had to find substitutes for dinner or movie night with friends. Thus, I will shamelessly purchase this book once it's published. Neither the design nor the recipes are in any way unobtrusive, no matter the skills level of the individual dish. There's unusual combinations such as the White Chocolate, Rosemary and Apricot Cookies, exotic treasures (Toasted Sesame Cookies) but also undeniable allrounders such as Brown Sugar Cookies.

I love the fact that Sarah provides a picture for every recipe - I'm a visual person and don't care for a recipe if there's no photograph of the result provided. The conversion tables included towards the end deserve special mentioning. They make away with untimely interruptions to check out conversion guidelines for cups, Fahrenheit and ounces. The extensive index should be an incredible asset to your search requests.

⤐ The book is structured as follows.
THE CLASSICS
BROWNIES + BLONDIES
FRUITEXTRAVAGANZA
THE NEXT LEVEL
TIME TO PLAY
PAN-BANGING COOKIES
MIX + MATCH
EXTRAS

Music to Bake to

The recipes are divided into chapters on The Classics, Brownies & Blondies, Fruit Extravaganza, The Next Level ("recipes... elevated for your holiday and dinner party needs"), Time to Play ("trendy takes on classics"), Pan-Banging Cookies (technique), Mix & Match (fillings for cookie sandwiches), and Extras (other items - pie dough, fillings, ice cream, etc.). The majority of recipes have a mouth-watering color photo of the finished cookies. There are a lot of recognizable items in here, but many that are more unique or an elevated version of a standard. This is the kind of cookie book where anyone can find something to make, whether they are looking for a perfect chocolate chip cookie or wanting to try a new flavor combination, like the Chocolate Basil Brownies.

I have made an embarrassing amount of cookies thanks to this book, each batch has turned out better than the last. Every recipe was easy to follow and made everyone in my house feel like they can help without messing it up.

This book is full of classic recipes for cookies you've always loved as well as cookies you've never heard of. I love how it is broken up into eight sections and includes the level of difficulty. I loved the tips and tricks that this book shares, it's so much more than just basic recipes.

The photos in the book will make you hungry but will also inspire you to bake. This book is both beautiful and helpful. If you're looking for a cute gift, be sure to add this book to your shopping list.

This is THE book about everything cookies baking. From classical recipes to various innovative combinations - one of which may include rhubarb - this collection of recipes brings cookies to the table and put your baker skills at work.
The recipes have various level of complexity and the list of ingredients differs. Besides the variety of recipes, what I particularly liked about this book is the careful way of explaining the various directions, which makes the book also a good reference for anyone looking to improve his or her food writing skills.
The photos are relatively simple but tempting enough to try one or another recipe.

I own quite a few cookie books, both more classic and more inventive, so a times it feels like it's unfair to rate a new cookie book because I already have so many to draw on. But I really like this book. It has enough classic recipes to appeal to a baker who doesn't have many cookbooks in their arsenal but has enough unique recipes or recipes with a twist to appeal to someone who already has a lot of cookie books.

The author also introduces some of her own techniques (i.e. pan-banging) which I found interesting since I can also apply them to other recipes.

I really enjoyed this book!

Okay, coming clean - I requested Sarah Kieffer’s <i>100 Cookies: The Baking Book For Every Kitchen</i> because my son loves to bake and I love to eat whatever baked goods are coming out of my kitchen!

I’d say he’s a medium level baker, a big step above a beginner, but far from a pro and this cookbook is perfect for him. The recipes are complex enough that the results truly look and taste like they came from a bakery, but simple enough that I have had most of the ingredients on hand.

So far he’s made the Bourbon Sablés with Chocolate and the Blondies. Both were incredible and I can’t wait to see what he makes next!

This is the first book I’m buying when it’s released on October 20, 2020. What a fantastic present this one will make for anyone who loves to bake (and those of us who love to eat!).

<i>a copy of 100 Cookies was provided to me by NetGalley for the purpose of my honest review</i>

I need to thank to the publisher for this book because I loved it.
Being in lockdown it really helped to have some fun in the kitchen with the children and try new recipes every other day.
I’m definitely recommending this book to all my friends

I own about half a dozen cookie books, which are mostly tried and true ones from the late 1990s; however, I’m always interested in reading new cookie books because I enjoy reading about the introduction of newly available ingredients and the revamped approaches to old classics. I almost always decide against adding these new books to my collection because the new recipes are too complex, the ingredients are too esoteric, and/or the innovation is lacking. Of course, that doesn’t stop me from eagerly anticipating gorging on the food porn of a new cookie book.

This cookbook definitely was food porn. Almost every cookie recipe was accompanied by a gorgeously styled full color photograph.

The recipes themselves were clearly written and featured common ingredients. The equipment required was no more esoteric than a kitchen stand mixer. Most recipes required saucepans and bowls of various sizes, as well as whisks and spatulas.

Unfortunately, the cookie recipes were not as varied as the title made them seem. The first forty or so recipes were for classic cookies and bar cookies. Ten or so pan-banging recipes seemed to be variations of recipes from the first chapter. Last ten or so cookie recipes were for filled versions of cookies that had appeared in earlier sections.

Because this is such a beautiful yet simple cookbook, I would definitely consider adding this to my collection - even if it means culling my current collection to make room.

I received this book as a digital advance reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I have yet to prepare any recipes from this book, but if I do, I will either update my blog or update this review with the results.

When I saw a cookie cookbook on NetGalley, I requested it immediately.
I loved the layout. It's separated into 8 sections, by type and difficulty.
It starts with discussing tools and ingredients and moves into types with great instructions and beautiful pictures.
The recipes range from everyday to special occasion ones that anyone would be proud to bring to a party.
I made a few with my granddaughters and they approved them and are requesting another session.
This would be a great addition to any baking collection.

I'm very thankful to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me an ARC of this book. The review below is entirely my own opinion:

My family and I love, love, LOVE Sarah Kieffer's OG recipe for Pan-Banging Chocolate Chip Cookies. They are bomb diggity delicious! And getting the ARC couldn't have come at a better time! During this covid19 lockdown, I've baked numerous recipes since I got the ARC for the cookbook. I've made the Pan-Banging (P-B) Oatmeal Chocolate Cookies, the P-B Triple Chocolate Cookies, and the P-B Peanut Butter Cookies. I've also baked a couple of her bars, namely the Crème Brûlée Cheesecake Bars and Espresso Cheesecake Bars. All of the recipes I've made, ALL OF THEM, are über, satisfyingly yummmmmmmy. My husband and kid, who, unlike myself, are not fond of sweets at all, enjoyed them so much that the cookies/bars disappeared VERY quickly.

We liked everything I've baked from it so much that I've already pre-ordered a copy. I can't wait to bake more treats from this cookbook for my family!

Wow wow wow! This book is amazing. So many recipes and much more than just cookies. I love that there are a wide range of recipes, from simple well known sweet treats, to fun new twists on old favorites, and even out of the box ideas, I am looking at you Toasted Sesame Cookies. Each recipe is easy to read, the pictures are beautiful, and there are so many tips and tricks to use while making cookies or just cooking in general. As both a foodie and a music lover I was thrilled with the playlist included. I cannot wait to try some of these recipes and also get my hands on a hardcopy of this book once it goes on sale!

Who doesn't love cookies?!
I grew up baking with my mom, so I know how special certain cookbooks are, especially when baking cookies lead to sweet memories with family and friends. I believe this cookbook will create memories like that. It will find a special place in the hearts of families and aspiring bakers of every ability level.

Sarah's cookbook is a beautiful collection of cookies of every kind and for every occasion. From her kid's favourite simple chocolate chip cookies to the more eloquent lavender cookies, perfect for an afternoon high tea.

Recipes are neatly organized by category with an ingredient list, tips from Sarah to make your cookies taste even better, and easy step-by-step instructions.

My list of cookies to try (and to bake on the regular) is getting larger, and my 10 year old daughter is perhaps more excited by the pages in this book and the finished product then I imagined. I highly recommend this cookbook for the beginner and for the more advanced baker. There is something for everyone.

Wow! Sooooo many cookie recipes. I honestly haven’t baked all of the recipes yet but the photos look fantastic. This book is written by Sarah Kieffer of the Vanilla Bean Baking Blog! I tried the Olive Oil sugar cookies which turned out great!

This is such a cute recipe book of twists on old classics and inventive new cookie creations. I love that Sarah offers so many different types of cookie and desserts recipes for all types of bakers: from the beginner to the expert wanting to learn more. Even her novel pan banging techniques worked so well that I definitely plan on using it in my future cookie endeavors. I highly recommend this book to any baker looking for both an update on traditional cookies and well as unique new desserts!

Thank you to NetGalley for a free review copy of 100 Cookies. I have been (home) baking for about 2 years now and am always looking for great new cookbooks. I was pleasantly surprised by this book for the different varieties of some of the classic bakes. For example there are at least 4 varieties of the chocolate chip cookie, and SO MANY brownie and blondie varieties. In addition to the 100 cookie/brownie recipes this book includes about 15 extra recipes for things such as rough puff pastry, caramel and lemon curd, just to name a few. I have already made notes of about 30 treats I want to make immediately, but I know I'll need to pace myself. However, in the interest of giving this book a full review, I decided to jump in and make the ginger cookies as well as the oatmeal cookies right away, and I am happy to report that I love the way they came out! The author does a great job in the beginning of the book to explain how to use the book, how to measure ingredients, and what ingredients will work best. I think this book will appeal to all levels of bakers. And a bonus that you may not know is that Sarah Kieffer invented the "pan-banging chocolate chip cookies" that has become an internet sensation. She provides her tips and tricks for this method along with a variety of recipes to make. I am pleased that this book will be released in August 2020 because I can see myself buying multiple copies of this book as gifts for my friends and family this holiday season. All in all a great experience with this book and I cannot wait to make more delicious goodies.

There’s a very slim chance I’m ever going to say no to a cookbook that features cookies. And I very happy that I didn’t say no to this one.

100 COOKIES: The Baking Book for Every Kitchen, with Classic Cookies, Novel Treats, Brownies, Bars, and More, won my heart and stomach 100 times over. From traditional cookies and bars, to creations, and combinations I have never heard of, author Sarah Kieffer offers so many recipes for these sweet delights, that you’ll never run out of amazing treats for friends, family or yourself!

Starting with a long and very detailed introduction, you’ll not only learn a bit about the author, she offers baking advice and tips, standard ingredients that are needed for just about any cookies recipe, and the equipment you will use.

And then we’re on to the best part of the book, the cookies! Broken down into chapters on the different types of fabulous confections, checkout some of the major yums will find in 100 COOKIES. Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, Brownie Cookies, Ginger Cookies, Shortbread, Swirl Brownies Two Ways, White Chocolate Red Velvet Brownies, Cinnamon Roll Brownies, Raspberry Rye Cookies, Banana Cream Pie Bars, Red Wine Cherry Cheesecake Swirl Bars, Smoky Butterscotch Cookies, Carrot Cake Bars with Meringue, Kitchen Sink Cookies, Caramel Bars with Candied Peanuts, Chocolate Malt Ice Box Bars, also Pastry Crème, Ermine Buttercream, Caramel Shards, and so, so much more!

There are some wonderful color photos that made my mouth water, as I’m sure they will yours. I believe there was one for each recipe, are at the least, most of the recipes. I was glad to see that. Cookbooks with no photos are a pet peeve of mine.

In closing, the author suggests Music to Bake To, offers a conversion list, and her resources.

All in all, 100 COOKIES: The Baking Book for Every Kitchen, with Classic Cookies, Novel Treats, Brownies, Bars, and More was fulfilling and left me sated.

I loved this book, the photography was really captivating, the instructions were clear and to the point, and while some of the cookie recipes I already have the ones that work for me, reading about the author experiences in developing her own or choosing a certain one were nice to read and felt like gushing with another person obsessed with baking. There were also recipes I didn't know and I'm eager to try my hand at making, some of which are: chocolate basil brownies; lavender cookies; rum raising cookies and a few more.
I think this book is very well done and thought out, I enjoyed reading it and I recommend it, specially for somebody who is trying to get into baking, because the author goes from the basic recipes and explains how to use some ingredients and why it works like that; and then later in the book even mixes some of them and create new ones.

I mean who doesn’t love a good dessert!!?? I am a sucker for sweets and this cook book has become my guilty pleasure.

I love baking. It's one of my favorite things to do other than reading, but this cookbook just isn't it. The recipes itself were good, but the overall format of the book is my main problem. There was enough variety between basic baking and expert baking that it doesn't feel like "just another baking book." Although, I wouldn't call this book a 100 cookies because it does contain a lot of other types of desserts. The book is close to 300 pages long for 100 recipes. This is because the book used full page pictures of every single recipe. The font was very small and clustered that when I tried to read over a few recipes, I kept losing my place and not knowing the next step. This cookbook would defiantly get a higher star rating if the format was slightly different and if it had less pictures.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced PDF of this cookbook. All opinions are my own.

This is a great cookbook for the cookie basics with beautiful pictures to accompany most of the recipes. I love how it's categorized from the basics Classics to the more difficult Mix and Match and Time to Play recipes. I don't think there are any revolutionary recipes that make you need this book, but if you want beautifully organized recipes all in one place, this book is great!

Thanks to NetGalley for the free and very yummy book. It's a beautiful book, one that would be much better as a paper book. NetGalley recipe and craft books have to be read in Adobe Digital editions, which just sucks. So there was no easy flipping around. The introduction was interesting and informative, and then I got to the recipes, which sounded really good. The only thing is, they all say things like "will keep for up to two days" which seems odd, since biscuits really are fine for longer than that, and I can't eat 20 biscuits in 2 days (I mean I could, but I probably wouldn't enjoy it that much!) I've made one recipe so far, the Brownie Cookies. the recipe was well written and the biscuits were very tasty. I'll be making more of these recipes, and would consider buying the paper book for myself or to give as a gift.

Every time I see a new cookie cookbook, I cringe – just how many kinds of cookies and brownie recipes does one person need? It seems every cookie cookbook has all of the basics, and plenty of recipes for banal, unexciting variations. However, every once in a while a true cookie connoisseur comes out with a cookbook that features unique, innovative recipes. 100 Cookies: The Baking Book for Every Kitchen, with Classic Cookies, Novel Treats, Brownies, Bars, and More, Sarah Kieffer’s latest cookbook, is different from the norm, and bakers will find that almost every recipe is one that they want to try. It’s interesting that Kieffer is a self-taught baker – one of us (albeit exceedingly talented) – and works on her recipes until they turn out how she wants them, which, after baking from this excellent book, is also how I want them.

The regulars are here: chocolate chip cookies (three ways), Snickerdoodles, Dozens of brownies, chocolate, gooey, cakey, swirled, and blonde, as well as several kinds of bars, and over-the-top fancies to blow guests away. New, innovative cookies and bars that are mouthwatering are included, such as Grapefruit Cake Bars, Citrus Pie Bars, and Lemon oat bars. There are swirled cookies, macarons, and fillings and frostings. The instructions are easy to follow, and suitable for both beginning and experienced bakers. There are enough cookie choices to keep home cooks happy and baking for months.

This cookbook also includes one of the most important aspects – beautiful photographs. It’s no fun to try to bake something that you aren’t sure what it is supposed to look like.

If you are looking for a good book full of mouthwatering, delicious cookies, this is the one you want to pick up.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

Its cookies(and more!)! Do you need to know more than that? There are so many good recipes I can´t even choose my top 10! Buy it and try all of them, I definitely recommend it in this quarantine time when all you should be doing is staying home and baking.

100 Cookies features a collection of mouth watering treats with easy steps and tantalizing photos. The ingredients and recipes are pretty standard but there are a few creative spins such as the Red Wine Cherry Cheesecake Swirl Bars and Chocolate Basil Brownies. And towards the back, there's a whole section for cookies featuring European style butter (which has a higher milk fat content resulting in a creamier texture and richer flavor) as well as a few "extras" including lemon curd, candied cocoa nibs, and marshmallow fluff. Everything in here looks so good but I lack the motivation and skills to bake for myself so alas, I'm left drooling over the food porn.

*Thank you to NetGalley and Chronicle Books publishers for providing a free ARC

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this advance copy.

This is an amazing cookbook! There are so many recipes I'm looking forward to trying, especially the sugar cookie variations (chocolate and brown sugar).

I will be purchasing this cookbook for my personal collection.

It's been a while since I've done a cookbook review due to feeling a little cookbook fatigued, but my sudden urge to bake all the things during this pandemic made the ARC of this book impossible to resist. Not to mention, cookies are my favorite thing to bake. Easy to whip together, easy to share, and enjoyed by all. Sarah Kieffer must be a kindred spirit because cookies seem to be her favorite thing to bake too. She is most well known for her viral pan-banging cookies. I've never actually made them myself but I've heard from many friends that they are very good. She has turned this technique into a whole chapter of the book with various riffs, but this is (thankfully) only one part of this book.

There are also chapters devoted to the classics, brownies and bars, fruity cookies, special cookies that take more work, cookies that are fun for kids and adults alike, and then cookie sandwich creations. While some of the cookie recipes definitely piqued my interest (toasted sesame caramel, anyone?), there are many others that are just variations of the same base but with different flavors. This is especially apparent in the brownie and bars section where there are cream cheese brownies, turtle brownies, swirl brownies, marshmallow peanut butter brownies, peanut butter crunch brownies, and chocolate basil brownies that all use the same base brownie recipe. Other baking books I have read and enjoyed like Bravetart and Dorie's Cookies have 4 or 5 variations of each recipe as well, but they are included at the end of each recipe as a footnote rather than counted as their own separate recipes. I would have appreciated if Kieffer had used the same strategy here. Not to mention, as someone who doesn't love brownies and rarely makes them (my family doesn't really like them either), it was a bummer that about 20% of the cookbook is just brownie recipes. If you like brownies though, rejoice because there are plenty of recipes for you.

In a similar vein, the pan-banging cookie chapter has many recipes, but they are all pan-banging versions of the classics that are already featured in the first chapter. Maybe this works better in a food blog than in a cookbook, but I was feeling major deja vu when I got to that chapter. The last chapter, which is cookie combinations, just throws together the cookie recipes from earlier in the book with some buttercream and no-churn ice cream recipes and counts them as new recipes as well. I do like some of the combos, but in a book that was already missing some variety for me, I thought they took away precious space from what could have been more cookie recipes.

Finally, I wish there were more photos in this book! I counted only two to three photos per chapter, and that's really not a lot for a modern cookbook. There were a lot of blank pages in the ARC I received, so I suspect there are some photos that did not yet make their way in, and I am hopeful when I eventually go to my nearest bookstore and see this book on the shelf that there will be more.

I do have my disappointments with this book, and maybe that's unfair because I had just finished reading Dorie's Cookies, which is so well-done that it's a tough act to follow. However, there are many positives about this book that I want to mention too. The photos that are included are done beautifully and make me want to get to baking immediately. The colors are bright and fun. The font and design are pleasing to the eye. The classics appear to be done well, and the blend of easy and challenging techniques makes this a nice book for both beginner and experienced bakers. While I don't think it would earn a space on my cookbook shelf, it has definitely won over others on Netgalley. It makes me want to check out her very well-reviewed first cookbook, as I think that may be more up my alley.

Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

I’m so very sorry for asking for this book. I didn’t realize this was in PDF form & I have a kindle paper white which doesn’t allow me to download the book to it for me to read. I love cooking & baking books but unfortunately I can’t see this book or read/ review it :(
Again, sorry for having requested this but REALLY wish I could bake some of the yummy looking cookies on the cover
Thank you

I probably have a cookbook problem. I love them, I will admit some are more useful then others. This one goes on my useful shelf. In fact I will probably buy a hard copy for myself and a few as gifts. This book is comparable to my Betty Crocker complete baking guide I received about 15 years ago. This book covers the cookie base and the recipes we tried have been oh so very good. Ingredients that anyone would have in their pantry and the instructions are easy to understand. The wide verity of desserts makes my heart sing. The pictures are absolutely stunning. I can not rave enough about this book. There are cookies in there I have never even heard of that I have to try now, like Neapolitan cookie. I can't wait to the next time I need to bring something to a potluck I am busting recipes out of this book.

This is a wonderful book! The cover immediately caught my eye and the recipes I've made have been just as good! The author begins with an interesting history of her cookie baking as a teenager. The recipes are clearly written and easy to follow. The photos make all the recipes look delicious. The soft chocolate chip cookies and the blondies are new favorites for my cookie-loving children. This book would make a great gift for anyone who enjoys baking. Enjoy!

I am not the world's best baker, but I do okay. These treats MAKE me want to better my baking skills. I must admit, I came in expecting only to find Cookie recipes, so I was pleasantly surprised to see such a variety of treats to make. I look forward to getting in the kitchen and baking some goodies (in moderation, of course).

I now understand why people read cookbooks for fun, but I do after reading this one. This book was so sweet, and the little blurbs before each recipe were the perfect length.

I’m super excited to try some of these recipes!

Okay, who doesn’t love all things cookies and bars? They all look delicious and I can out wait to try them. The author put a lot of hard work into making this so beautiful.

Thank you NetGalley and author Sarah Kieffer!

As a culinary educator, I focus more on the beginning pieces than the actual quality of the recipes. When I teach about baking and specifically cookies, I like to focus on the purpose of ingredients and how altering them will affect the texture, taste, etc. This cookbook does go into those details as well as different equipment that can be used when baking cookies, but I found that I did not like the organization of that information. It was all jumbled together and if I purchased this cookbook for cookie recipes, I would skip the important information because it doesn't look appealing to read.

I did try one of the recipes - Oatmeal Cookies. I wasn't a huge fan of the layout of the recipes - I don't like directions in paragraph format because it's easy to miss a step or lose your place. The quality of the cookies was good. Not out of this world - but good.

This book was provided to me by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I’m in cookie heaven! This book is exactly what I needed: colourful, fun and full of close ups of cookies. There’s a full range of classic cookies recipes plus so many creative combinations to try out. Banana Poppy Seed Cookies! Sm’ores Cookies! Snickerdoodle Cookies with Pumpkin Buttercream! I was hungry after reading just the contents page. Randomly there’s a section on brownies and blondies – are they considered cookies in the US?

After much indecision on what to bake first, I tried the Raspberry Rye cookies and they were absolutely delicious. The recipe was super easy to follow and I’d never thought about using rye flour in cookies. Genius! Thanks to the author for including metric measurements and cooking temperatures. I loved the music playlists at the back and all the tips for getting the perfect cookie. Who knew cookie trays need to be banged on a surface to make them chewy?!

I will definitely be buying a physical copy of this book when it comes out.

This was a great cookbook with both simple recipes and next-level master baking. Whether I will ever be brave enough to attempt macarons is still doubtful, but there are definitely recipes from Sarah Kieffer I will be attempting. I loved reading about her tap theory to create a crunchy outside, a moist inside and a lovely ring effect on top. It's something I'd never considered but will try to recreate in my next baking attempts.

The photos for each recipe are stunning and Kieffer's instructions are straightforward and clear. I also really appreciated how she gave the measurements in both cups and grams, since I have still not mastered the conversion rates myself.

I would love to own a copy of this book for my own kitchen and would recommend it to anyone with an urge to bake.

Happy Reading, friends!

Special thanks to Chronicle Books for providing our copy in exchange for an honest & fair review of Sarah Kieffer's 100 Cookies.

This baking book is great! The photos are gorgeous and it is organized in a way that makes baking very easy. If you're a fan of Kieffer's Pan Banging technique, there's a whole section on that!

I loved the Neopolitan cookies & those will become a staple in our home. There's lots of bars, cookies & other sweets. Get the butter & all-purpose flour ready & get baking!

5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is what a cookbook is supposed to be like!

There is a little something for everyone tucked into these beautiful pages! Tons of gorgeous photos, helpful tips and tricks along with some seriously fantastic sounding recipes. I made the Oatmeal Raisin cookies - my husband’s absolute favorite - and they were delicious! I also loved the Kitchen Sink cookies because there is literally everything in the world that is yummy baked into them.

There are tons more that I want to try and might actually purchase this one when it comes out.

A must for every cookie baker or anyone that just loves sweet treats!

Thank you to NetGalley, Chronicle Books and Sarah Kieffer for the advanced copy to read and review.

Author Sarah Kieffer has created the quintessential baking book in her latest baking book entitled, "100 Cookies." The author of the famous Vanilla Bean Blog is now serving up delicious recipes for classic cookies, brownies, dessert bars, homemade ice cream and more! As a novice baker, I approached this book with caution. Would it be too difficult for me to replicate overly complicated instructions? I was so relieved to find that not only are Sarah Kieffer's recipes simple and straightforward but her writing is also very easy to follow. Reading her baking book feels like chatting with an old friend you've known since childhood. She makes these recipes accessible while maintaining a completed product that will mesmerize even your most difficult to please taste buds! Our family has already dug into the Snickerdoodles, the Chocolate Sugar Cookies and the Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies and we have loved them all! This is the baking book that everyone needs in their kitchen!

Recommendation: Pick up a copy and don't forget to check out the extras section! It has some delicious bonus recipes like the No-Churn Ice Cream. Also, looking for some tunes to play while baking? Sarah Kieffer has an amazing play list in the back of the book! Put it on and get to baking! Enjoy!

YUM!
great recipes and photos for each. Sections with an introduction that explain ps each group.

This is a book of classics and not for anyone who needs /wants gluten free or other dietary restrictions. This is flour butter eggs etc.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I’m excited to play with this one.

I was extremely excited to read this! We are obsessed with cookies in our home but unfortunately it would not open for me to view. I’m extremely disappointed☹️ I was looking forward to trying new recipes during the quarantine.

Really liked the recipes! I have some that I will definitely try to do myself! I’m not much of a cook but this book got me thinking I should try it more often.

I love the intro to this cookbook, so relate able, I felt connected to the author immediately as I learned to love baking around the same age with the the Betty Crocker Junior Cookbook (I can just see it now). The photos were perfect, as I am such a visual person - a yummy photo means I will want to make it for sure! Most every recipe uses simple, every day ingredients that you probably already have at home, with a few more advanced recipes. There is a chocolate chip cookie for every type of cookie lover- the soft, the crispy. Brownies-fudgey, cakey, swirled. I will be referring back to this time and time again. Maybe I'll start at the beginning and work my way through..... I will definitely be ordering a physical copy of this beauty for myself!

100 Cookies will definitely become a staple and go-to cookie cookbook for many households! This cookbook offers a variety of desserts, from the classic and easy, like Sugar Cookies and Shortbread, to the unique and adventurous, like Lavender Cookies and Grapefruit Cake Bars. The book is broken up into sections, like classics, fruit-inspired, bars/brownies, and "pan-banging cookies" - which I have never heard of before outside of macarons! I'm intrigued to try this type of cookie to see how it differs in taste and texture from regular cookies. A few favorite recipes that stuck out to me as automatic must tries are Olive Oil Sugar Cookies with a Blood Orange Glaze, Creme Brûlée Cheesecake Bars, and the Cinnamon Roll Blondies.

I don't mean to exaggerate, but this is may just be a completely perfect cookbook. Concise, clear instructions accompanied by absolutely gorgeous photographs. PLUS I'm on board with anything that draws from the age-old wisdom of Uncle Rico. I'll be getting one for myself, without a doubt!

This book has got beautiful pictures. It's an appealing book to browse through. The recipes look good and easy to follow. The ingredients are listed both in cups and grams. I like that there are recipes for soft and crispy cookies. I was surprised to see there are so many brownie and cheesecake bar recipes in this book, since to me that are not cookies... I was only looking for biscuits and cookies recipes so probably won't make half of them. That still leaves plenty of recipes to try out.

I got this book "100 Cookies" because I LOVE to bake (I even spent 10 weeks in Paris, France in the fall of 2009, to take a baking & pastry course) and I dream of someday having an online or maybe even brick & mortar gourmet/specialty cookie (and/or cupcake) bakery business. I love trying new recipes as well as variations on classic, and time-tested recipes. As such, I can not wait to try the 100+ recipes (not all at once, of course, but over time!) in this book. Because this book NOT only has recipes for the 100 cookies in its title, but it also offers several EXTRA recipes including pie dough base, puff pastry, marshmallows & marshmallow creme, no-churn ice cream, lemon curd, and many more!

Unfortunately, because of the current coronavirus lockdown, it has been very difficult (especially since I am unable to drive due to disabilities and the local public transportation services which is minimal to non-existent even when there is NO lockdown has been shut down completely and grocery delivery services like Instacart, Shipt & PrimeNow have NO delivery slots available) to find the ingredients for the recipes in this book. Even basic ingredients (like eggs, cream, sugar ) let alone more uncommon ingredients (like hazelnut flour) seem to be out of stock at all nearby stores.

However, since I don't want to put off reviewing this cookbook until this coronavirus situation ends (whenever or if it even ever does!) I'm going to just post this review, and then if/when the lockdown ends, and I can get the ingredients, I will test some of these recipes and then come back and update this review.

In the meantime, I am giving this book 3 stars, NOT because I don't think it doesn't deserve better (because it probably or even likely does!) but because like I said, I am unable to test out the recipes right now. and so I don't want to give it either a high rating OR a low rating, but instead something neutral.

That being said, the recipes look yummy, and I am looking forward to making some, many or even ALL of these dishes once the normal supply in the supermarkets & grocery stores is restored!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!
