Description
The power of Nature to heal has been accepted for many millennia. Flowers inspire us with their beauty, beguile us with their fragrance, and can have medicinal properties in their oils and plant matter. However, the healing properties of flowers go even deeper. Each flower holds a unique energetic fingerprint or essence that can be used for healing, wellness, and self-discovery.
Organized by categories such as transformation, inspiration, boundaries, healing, and self-esteem, The Healing Guide to Flower Essences helps you quickly find the right remedy for your wellness and self-discovery. For example, you can use Larch for overcoming doubt and insecurity, Gentian for perseverance and optimism after a setback, or Cherry Plum for surrender and trust in one’s soul path.
Each flower entry provides a list of what its essence can assist you with along with an invocation and a description of its physical properties, uses, and benefits.
Written by noted artist and flower essence practitioner Alena Hennessy and lovingly illustrated with original botanical art and illustration with co-illustrator Jane Hennessy, this user-friendly guide also includes: The history of flower essences dating back almost 3,000 yearsThe original 38 flower remedies created by Dr. BachHow to connect more deeply with the properties and messages of the flowers by making your own flower essence remediesWhat it’s like to work with flower essences through insightful personal interviews with flower essence practitionersA resource section and an index Embrace the subtle, beautiful, and transformational power of flower essences.

A fascinating and informative book, full of interesting ideas and hints.
I liked the style of writing and how the book is organised.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
I learned a lot from this book. I am new to Flower Essences and this book break things down where they are easy to understand. The book also breaks down different kinds of flowers based on ned. Each flower has a drawing, explanation, uses, and incantation. The book also includes many interviews with Flower Essences PRactionors giving other insight into the practice.
What a wonderful book to have during this stressful time! I am new to Flower Essences , but I felt this book gave me just the right amount of information about each topic without overwhelming me. I honestly wanted to go out a buy a bunch of these after I read this! Beautiful designs in the book as well.
This is a lovely book, full of stunning illustrations. It is pitched just at the right level and I liked the way the flower essences were listed based on their potential use. The layout was perfect and easy to follow. You can start small by selecting one that appeals to you based on its healing properties, buy it for a relatively small amount and give it a go. There are interviews with experienced practitioners and a full list of places where you can source the essences. Details of the Bachs remedies are also given which is probably the easiest way to get started as they are widely available.. I loved the instructions for making your own too. Overall it is a brilliant book beautifully executed.
Recommended for anyone who loves flowers, gardening or working with herbs! During quarantine, one of the only things I did to stay fit aside from Yoga, is walk. We have walked a lot so far, keeping close to house. You can imagine the sites get pretty boring when you’ve seen the same thing over and over again. One thing that kept them interesting was checking out the wildlife.
It’s Spring and everything is in bloom! Knowing the little I did about flowers before reading the book, I knew that Honeysuckle smells intoxicating and is good for many things and can be eaten. We all know the benefits of Lavender which is everywhere! When I found this one on Netgalley, I knew I wanted to read it.
Having tons of information on remedies and the history of flowers, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised in your new found-knowledge of everything that blooms!
Thank you to Netgalley, Alena Hennessy, and Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds for the ARC.
